The car was clean and well maintained. The owner/manager was rude and dismissive. It was 30 minutes before I was helped, he kept helping other customers at the meat shop. He also didn’t show us where the car was parked so it took us a while to find it.

radoslav lI made an online reservation for a 10' truck, two furniture dollies, and one dozen furniture pads. The selected dealer location was very close to my old address, and my new address is also less than 3 km away, making it the most convenient and cost-effective option. According to your website, the estimated total cost was around $61 CAD. However, upon arriving at the dealership, I was informed that they did not have any dollies or pads available, and I was advised to go to a U-Haul Center to pick them up. I was also told that since I had already paid online, I could simply collect the items from the Center without any additional charge. This was not the case. At the U-Haul Center, the staff told me I would need to pay again for the pads and dollies, and I would also have to return them to the Center, not the original dealership. As a result, I had to pay twice and spend additional time and fuel to travel over 27 km round-trip, which took nearly 2 hours out of my moving day. After returning the truck, I then had to make another trip back to the Center just to return the rental items. I called U-Haul customer service during this process, and I was told I should have called the dealership beforehand to confirm the availability of the dollies and pads. However, nowhere on the website during the booking process was I informed that such confirmation was necessary. I relied on the options available through your website, assuming they would be honored. It feels unfair to shift the responsibility to the customer when the reservation system did not clearly communicate potential unavailability or the need for separate confirmation. In the end, I was charged $44 just for mileage, with a total cost of $108 CAD, significantly more than the original estimate. The extra cost, inconvenience, and time wasted were entirely due to a lack of communication and coordination between your online system, dealerships, and U-Haul Centers. I chose U-Haul for its reputation for affordability and convenience, but this experience was neither. I hope you understand how frustrating and disappointing this situation was. I would appreciate it if you could review my case and consider a partial refund or compensation, especially for the extra charges incurred due to a system issue that was not my fault.
HANWEN LI filled up the gas tank to exactly where it was when I picked up the truck and they still charged me extra for gas. I felt scammed.
Larry RMy pick up experience was HORRIBLE. U-Haul should reconsider having Boss Halal on Broadway as a representative of the company. I arrived 10 minutes early and the man at the store barely acknowledged me. When I asked if he could check me in for my rental he simply said "10:30" and walked away and starting working at his meat counter (it was 10 22 at the time). Nobody else was in the store. He wouldn't begin the check in process until 10 30am which took until 10 45. Then he told me the wrong truck so the key didn't work and he was so rude to me and didn't apologize, barely acknowledged me. He also didn't explain that someone still need to collect and bring my dolly and blankets to the truck which took an extra 10 minutes. I don't think I have ever had such negative, insulting customer service in my life.
