Overall, the rental experience would have been improved if the vehicle had been dispatched with a more reasonable fuel level. The truck I received appeared to have a very low fuel level, close to empty, which made it difficult to accurately estimate how much fuel needed to be replaced before return and increased the likelihood of accidental overfilling. I was not advised of the fuel level in advance and was directed to pick up the truck myself a block away from the rental counter. After noticing the low fuel level, I immediately contacted Ali, the branch manager at Dollar n Plus (5721 Dalhousie Rd, Vancouver), to raise the issue, but I did not receive a response at the time. For future customers, I would recommend ensuring that vehicles are dispatched with a clearer and more practical fuel level, that fuel levels are verified and communicated at pickup, and that customer concerns raised at the start of a rental receive a timely response. These small improvements would help avoid confusion and reduce the risk of disputes regarding fuel charges or reimbursements.

The service Al provided was top notch. He was friendly and very efficient and didnt mind that I arrived a bit early to pick up my rental van. He quickly got everything together and I was on my way. I have had a bad experience with UHaul Victoria a few years ago and stopped using them. After this experience, I will definitely start using them again.
Amy JThe employees asked me to bring the truck back with a full tank both when I left and returned it. The starting fuel was at half and I was in a good mood and filled it up like I asked. Turns out they're not allowed to ask me to do that, and U-Haul does not refund extra gas added to the truck. I lost about $160 this way. It took about a month and a half of customer service support for the regional manager to leave a message saying, "the staff never told you to return it full, and we aren't refunding you". This rental pick up location is a small business with friendly staff. However, what you did to me was wrong, and even if you aren't going to refund me, I just wanted to let you know that I'm disappointed. Please do better next time and have a nice day.
Christopher TUhaul changed my pick up locaiton on the day of my reservation. I had difficulty getting out of downtown to pick up the truck. The locationw as not convenient, but I had no choice. When I arrived to pick up the truck, the lady was super rude. Told me I was late and would have to wait. I was not going to be able to get my truck until someone else arrived back that had just left. She kept giving me attitude regarding my lateness. Then, after 20-25 minutes of waiting, she causally hands me the key that was there the whole time and gives me very cloudy instructions on where to get the truck. I honesly think she just wanted to inconvenience me. I don't think this person could have cared less about the paying customer standing in front of her trying to get a truck to service my business event. I was terribly dissapointed.
