To whom it may concern: As a frequent customer of moving trucks I was reminded why I rent from your competitors. Penske didn’t have a truck in the area and U-Haul had a truck in Vero Beach so you were the most convenient, so I reluctantly booked with U-Haul Tuesday 17 June 2025. I needed to move only 4 items and one was crated 14’ 2”. So I selected your 15’ truck. Before loading the labor measured the truck box and found out it was only 12’. How disappointing to get the wrong truck. After calling your 1800 non helpful phone number your gal informed me that U-Haul counts the space above the cab as bed length. Very deceptive. The dimensions you advertised is not what truthful. You also didn’t have any larger trucks. So after paying a company $1500 to crate up 13’ glass for a $50,000 conference table I had them out again to recrate the glass to under 14’ so it would fit diagonally. This also means I could not load the truck Tuesday afternoon like scheduled with labor. Thankfully labor was available the next morning and the fiasco only cost me the minimum trip charge of $250 for that wasted day. The recrating cost another $650 and set me behind a day. When sitting in truck on the phone dealing with the crate folks and loading labor the air conditioner went out on the truck. Back on the non helpful line roadside assistance was scheduled. Thankfully 3 hours later the Air Conditioning was fixed and worked until I reached Montana. It broke again. Getting ready for the trip I tried to register the truck on my SunPass account for the tolls that can only be paid that way. I could not register the lic plate to SunPass. The app response is the plate has been register to an existing account. How do your customers pay tolls? Wednesday morning the truck was loaded and leaving Vero Beach around 12pm loaded the truck steering pulled to the left. I decided to just live with it. It got worse and the traction light came on over Montana and I noticed to steering wheel was taking more correcting input to go straight down the road. I called the non help line and the told be I needed to stop at the next town and they would dispatch someone. The service traction light went out but did come back on again. I didn’t have the time to waste 3 hours of daylight. After stopping 30 miles from home I noticed a flat tire. The truck was still driving so I limped it home at a reduced speed and called roadside again. I also reported the AC blower inopt again. Tire was fixed Sunday night. I am very disappointed in U-Haul. Usually the computers are down or the guy entering my information is under trained. Either way it’s always a struggle to conduct business. This rental was an entire new level of broken and unsafe equipment, deceptive marketing and all in it cost me a lot of money and time. If you look at my rental history with you folks none has been recent and I have never complained about the shitshow until now. What can U-Haul offer me for what happened?

robert mThere was only one person working maintenance, sales, tire repairs, and uhaul bookings. I had to wait 25 minutes to be assisted, due to the one individual being over worked. When I returned the truck 3 hours later, my car had been vandalized with oil based paint on every window saying "no parking". I asked the owner and he claimed he did not know who did it and did not feign concern.
Skylor FTruck leak on our possessions when it rained. Found a half eaten lollypop in the cup holder. Cabin quite dirty. Charged for 3 gallons of fuel even though we put 3 gallons in before returning and went less than 30 miles total. Wasn’t informed the furniture dolly was charged at $10 per day. $70 to use it one time. Ridiculous. Felt completely ripped off.
AMBER ALooks like 3 of the 4 tires were replaced.. 1600 miles trip with a bubble in the tire. Luckily did not burst.. but the trailer shook the whole way north. I rent twice a year from UHaul to transport our car. Maybe a discount can be provided for my next rental. Thank you.
