I am shocked each time I go to a U-Haul site and see that staff frequently do not wear masks. Some have seen take them on and off. Others I have never seen wear them. If U-Haul were not the only option to rent trailers, I would definitely find one where staff consistently wear masks. It is another way of saying that U-Haul really doesn't care.

JD (the manager) is in incredible asset to U-haul. He exemplifies what customer service should be. He is helpful, friendly, courteous, and makes you feel welcome and want to come back. He has the ability to transform a mediocre retail experience into a memorable and happy customer experience, which is not easy to do in this current retail climate. Bravo!

I have several suggestions in how to make mine and the experiences of others more pleasant. As someone that had rented from UHaul twice in the past few months, the customer service was less than desirable. In general, staff needs to be better trained in how they interact with customers and their fellow colleagues. Terms such as "asshole" and other expletives were used throughout my transaction--granted that term was not directed at me. The staff did not work with a sense of urgency and a line-- albeit with social distancing happening--stretched the ENTIRE store. I waited quite long for my turn at the counter. Once there, the staff continued to gossip and talk to one another with not much of a greeting when I approached. As they were speaking to one another about the weather and "cold hands", I asked if they could complete my transaction as I was in a rush (I was there to rent a truck and pick up a purchase from an owner whom gave me a specific time range to be there). Once I said that, all bets were off it seems....a staff (whom I was not directly working with), said to his customer that "If he heard that, then he would tell me to leave". I don't care that he felt that way but to publicly say that to another customer with no care in the world that I heard was very inappropriate and unprofessional (he definitely wanted me to hear it as well). If I was to rate my experience from a 1-10 with 10 being the best, my experience would be a 1. I felt very unwelcome and because there was a man who made negative comments towards me, I don't think I can bring myself back into that storefront. I'm very disappointed and still shocked that customer service and the environment of this location was so harsh and quite frankly, mean. I'm a woman in my early 30s renting a truck and was met with criticism through my entire time there. Something needs to be done and I'd start with having a serious talk with those employees. Held my reservation even though I was late, and was courteous and helpful connecting the trailer to my vehicle. Great overall experience.
The staff were very helpful, good-natured, and really nice. They have a tough job, and encounter a lot of odd characters, so their good humor was appreciated.

The guys on site were OK. The issue we had was with the UHaul resolution process. I have rented from you many times before without issue however this time ran into issues where the â€œadditionalâ€ contact person listed had an unknown outstanding balance. He had never been contacted or made aware of this oustanding balance. He paid immediately over the phone upon learning of the charge and we were told to wait 5 minutes. We then attempted to complete the rental and then were told we had to call AGAIN. We called again and the other phone rep Nora was very helpful and explained your company had the same issue listed twice and was able to clear it out. We had to wait another 5 minutes after the call ended then FINALLY after over an hour we were able to get the rental. Very frustrating, time consuming process. Really inefficient resolution process. Very brief drop off encounter
Everything was fast and smooth Perfect
Our battery died 10 min after parking. Roadside assistance was very helpful but we had to wait and hour and half for them. Not including the time we spent on hold and on the phone trying to reach uhaul service.

Update the U-Haul website to clarify you can't use a temporary license. MA provides a temporary license when moving from another state while your official one is being processed.
