This location was great. The guy who owns the business was super helpful. However, Uhaul as a whole would get 100 negative stars. I was supposed to pick up my van after hours, so I used the online smartphone system. First it sent me to the WRONG location. Then after I took the selfie photo and photo of my license I sat there for 15 minutes while it "verified" my credentials. Then the color test came, and I still have no idea what the point of that was. After the test it went back to "verifying" me (another 10 minutes). Then the I got an error page saying "sorry, we cannot verify your credentials at this time. Please come back during business hours. Sorry for any inconvenience." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I tried going through the process again, but when I clicked on the link to start it said I had already checked in and that they'd "see me at 7pm!" I called the 1-800 number and sat on hold for nearly 15 minutes before I got to talk to someone. This lady was EXTREMELY rude and probably the most unhelpful person I've ever talked to in my life. She was super condescending and acted like I was a moron that didn't know how to use the system. She kept telling me to "just try it again" even though I told her I already did that and it wouldn't let me. After she argued with me about it I finally told her that I'd do it again and then call back and sit on hold for another 15 minutes to appease her. Without saying anything she placed me on hold! Then after almost 5 minutes she came back and said there was absolutely nothing she could do, she had no idea "what I had done wrong" (assuming I was doing something wrong instead of the system messing up), so I asked her what I should tell the people I was supposed to meet a half hour ago to pick up some furniture, and she responded that I was "screwed" and to come back tomorrow. I thanked her for wasting mine, my labor help, and the furniture people's time and hung up. The next morning I got a phone call from Uhaul (went to voice mail because I didn't hear my phone ring) asking why I never picked up my van, and scolded me for not canceling the rental so she went ahead and canceled it for me. Oh, and if I really did need it to call back using the 1-800 number. Um, no, I'd rather stab myself in the gut with a rusty butter knife and leave it there for 2 days than call the 1-800 number again!! I went back to the business once they opened and explained to the guy what happened. He was appalled because that could have affected HIS business. I told him I was not angry at him because I knew he had nothing to do with it. He told me he's had multiple customers have similar experiences, and he apologized profusely. I had rescheduled the move for Sunday morning and so the guy gave me the van Saturday without extra cost just to make sure I wouldn't have to deal with the online system again. So I have a suggestion for Uhaul. Fix your online verification system so it doesn't leave cus

When I came to pick up the truck that I had ordered the day previously, the man working refused to go outside and do a walk around on the truck. He said because another customer had come in. The customer had only been there about a minute because we were nearly finished. I find this inappropriate as they are required to do that every time and mark places that need to be marked. I've used this location many times and now not sure what I will do about the situation. Or even if I will use U-Haul if there is something else I can use close by

Lower your prices. The milage charge is way to steep. Uhaul was not my first choice because of the high milage charge but you were the only one who had the size truck I needed.at the time.

needed to explain mileage overage charges and mapping is not to my destination but rather to a drop off spot. The mileage from the pickup to my destination was 56 miles. from my destination to the nearest drop off was 21 miles. My contact allowed for 50 miles then was charged .40 a mile for overage. My $200 one way rental came out to over $5 per mile. I think that more than paid for the extra miles I "had to" drive to drop off the truck.

I was extremely delayed because I was initially supposed to pickup my truck at a different location using the "self check-in" method . . . after 30 minutes of trying to get the truck, the person at UHaul realized I had an out of state ID (because I live out of state) and said I would not be able to rent it in this form. I was forced to drive to another location and wait in line to get my truck. I understand if it's policy not to allow someone to rent a rent with self check-in when they're from a different state, but my annoyance is that this was never mentioned in all my online reservations (in which I did give my billing and current address). I showed up at 8:00 to rent the truck and hit the road, and instead wasn't leaving until after 9:30. The location at 50 S US 31 had nothing to do with this inconvenience, and they were great to deal with, but I was forced to go there after my self check-in was denied at my first location (and the store didn't actually open until later that morning)

The safety/functionality of the truck we were provided was very questionable. There were no parking brakes nor rear brakes which only left front brakes; very unsafe when driving a fully loaded 26’ truck. Further, the check engine light was on from the moment we sat in the truck until we dropped it off. Headlights were so misaligned they only pointed to the ground, center of lane, about 4 feet in front of truck. Had to drive with high beams on to adjust for low visibility. After first night trip showed us the vehicle was significantly unsafe, we vowed only to drive in sunlight which extended our moving (and rental) by nearly 4-5 days (and at the expense of MY wallet). Will not recommend this service unless safety and functionality of rental vehicles can be assured in the future.
