Jake and crew at Crossroads are the best representatives of the UHual brand I have ever experienced. I would recommend this locations, however, from corporate scheduling and such I would rate it absolutely horrible. I indicated that I needed a truck at 8:30 Friday morning. I even booked movers through your site to be here at 9:00. I had to drive to this location the night before in a severe snow storm to get a 26 foot truck because the location you initially assigned me couldn't have a truck available until 5 PM.

We arrived with the trailer in the middle of a late spring snow storm. There was one man working, and he was very helpful with the trailer parking and check-in process. We will be back to rent again! Convenient location to our house too!

The person that I had to interact with at this U-Haul location seemed to be more concerned with lecturing me on what I should and/or should-not have done for this rental rather than help me to effectively complete my vehicle drop off. I made three separate trips to this location to complete the process. First, I was given incorrect information on when the business office was open requiring me to have to contact the U-Haul assistance number and get directions on how to secure the loading dolly and 12 furniture pads for an after-hour vehicle return. I had to carry the equipment from the inside of the loading area of the truck and lift and fit everything into the cab of the truck; which, was an inconvience for me and something that I shouldn't have had to do if given the the correct office hours in the first place. When I mentioned this to the employee, I was given the curt answer that: "We do after hours drop offs all the time and it's no big problem." - Well, it was a problem for me! As this employee continued to lecture me on the what I did wrong with this rental, I asked him if there were any corporate procedures that addressed the situations/problems that he was making issues about. He said that the U-Haul businesses were individually run and that he had no control over what other owners did. This was something he repeated a number of times and I got the impression that he was the type of person that kept putting the blame for everything on someone else, including the customer. Yet, when I asked why he even accepted drop off trucks from locations where there could be a potential problem, he made the comment that he was not the "President of U-Haul!". - Whatever that was supposed to mean. He also told me that I just liked to argue. This is an inappropriate comment from someone who interacts with the public. U-Haul should consider providing their people with some training on professional customer relations (courtesy and service) and how to treat the customer(s). There are some other additional issues that I had with this U-Haul/Storage business; but I will leave it by saying that I would NOT recommend doing business at this Windsor location to anyone.

We feel we were over-charged. The furniture pads were labeled that we could use the furniture pads and dolly for just $10 and were charged $15 for the furniture pads AND $15 for the dolly! False advertising, no follow through, and we were billed for our estimated mileage instead of our actual. Probably won't use U-Haul next time we move.
