The trailer appeared to be fine when I picked it up. However, after arriving at my destination I found all of my boxes and other goods covered with a dirty residue from the trailer. Not good!

Original p/u location was Boston Road, Springfield Mass. Confirmed 5x8 trailer not available for p/u even though I confirmed the previous day and was assured a 5x8 would be there. Instead, I was "uprgraded" to a 6x12 which I did not want. Site had several 5x8 trailers on lot, but only for local use, not one way. U-Hauls policy not to swap out trailer s/n's is the most anti-customer satisfaction rule I've ever encountered. What difference does it make what trailers are tied to a location, as long as they have their required amount? The trailer I was to rent was not returned yet but was due back in that day. Had U-Haul been reasonable, I could have taken a local trailer and been on my way. Instead it took me 40 minutes to get up to the counter to find out my "confirmed" rental was not there and then drive 30 minutes to another location to p/u the trailer I had a confirmed reservation for at the Boston Road location. Your "customer service" group is not there for customer service, they are extremely rigid and have no ability to resolve customer issues. Even supervision was incapable of making an alternate decision to satisfy the customer. Despite my ratings above for the locations I eventually dealt with, I'm EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED with my overall experience with U-Haul and will do everything possible in the future to avoid using or recommending them again.

The ending mileage was accidentally entered as 700 miles higher than what it was actually upon return (I even took a picture of the mileage). Thus, the receipt billed me for an extra 540 miles. However, I called immediately upon reviewing my receipt and it was immediately corrected. The service at this location was excellent as always.

24 Hour drop off was fantastic but when it came to dropping off the key there was a slot for the contract as well. I didn't realize I would need to hand back the contract. After standing around for a couple minutes very confused, the older gentleman came over and took the key, viewed the contract and said i was all set. My only suggestion is upon pickup, make a copy of the contract and advise the customer which one we will need to drop off and which one we can keep.
