I researched before scheduling the rental - the location chosen was within 5 minutes of the hotel as I was traveling from GA to NJ and it was 10 minutes of where I needed to fill it.. however 3 days before we were to pick up the truck I was called to advise the location was changed as the one I had chosen did not have both the truck and tow dolly. The rep stated it was just 10 miles further.. if it was no big deal for us to travel the extra miles why was it a problem for u-haul to simply bring the products needed to the location we selected, since the reservation was made 3 weeks in advance. I would recommend u-haul do the leg work rather than the customer OR compensate the customer and not with a few extra miles especially when u-haul caused the additional miles to be needed.

One of the most friendly U-Haul attendant that I have met in a while. Nice guy and very helpful and cordial. He alerted me to the new U-Haul app based rental and return feature. You knocked it out of the park with that one. Real easy and straightforward. No worrying about driving miles out of the way to find a place open on Sunday.

I called the drop-off location because we were driving right into a heavy winter storm. Not our choice to move when we did, it was the militaries decision. I knew we were going to get delayed because of the storm. I was assured by the gentleman at the drop-off location that we would not be penalized for the late return due to the storm but once I got my final receipt, realized that I had in fact been charged for the late return. Had I been informed that this was going to happen, I would’ve understood but you can’t tell a customer that they won’t be penalized for something that is out of your control & then charge them anyway. That’s poor business!! I think next time the military asks me to move, I think I’ll make other choices.
