It was fine. We just parked and put the keys in the drop box. The location was not open at the time we were there.

Better lighting, less congestion in return parking area. Was great with this last return.

0. 5x9 Trailer, one-way, Rochester, MN to Champaign, IL 1. If the customer's pickup reservation is at 8 am, opening the store at 8:10 is not acceptable. 2. Pick-up location had no signage to indicate the name of the business or that it was indeed a U-Haul rental location. Due to construction in the area and a round-about, GPS was unhelpful. 3. Counter agent WAS friendly and personable so that was nice. 4. Trailer was in decent repair, but left tail light LEDs are over 1/2 burned out. U-Haul needs to maintain equipment to real-world safety standards, not merely legal or liability standards. 5. U-Haul should advise customers ahead of time that these trailers are extremely light and as such can get....interesting...at highway speeds. After loading a refrigerator and upright freezer, I purchased 400 pounds of water softener salt for additional ballast to help the trailer ride smoother. I then felt comfortable running 65-75 on decent highway pavement, but the average U-Haul customer would probably try to run 75 with only a mattress set, couch or other extremely lightweight cargo and things would get... interesting... quickly. The reason U-Haul says you can only run 55 is because they know most people will be loading these trailers light. 6. Trailer needs additional tie-down points in the middle (over the axle) of the trailer, as well as some on the outside of the trailer. Existing tie down points were helpful, but more would be better. Adequate tie-downs is a safety issue more than merely a convenience issue. 7. Making me drive an additional 20 miles to pick up my trailer is typical for U-haul and...to an extent...understandable given the nature of the business. However, making me drive PAST an IDENTICAL trailer at a true U-haul location is very frustrating. Additionally, I could have returned the trailer up to 24 hours earlier since I was done with it, however since U-haul has no early return refund/discount program, there is no incentive for anyone to return their equipment early. It is entirely possible that someone in my pick-up city might have been able to return their trailer early which would have saved me time and frustration of driving an extra 20 miles, however since there is no refund for early turn-in, there is no incentive to make thing easier for everyone.

The owner was friendly and easy to work with. Also, the fact that my information was already in the system from another U-Haul location I had used was a bonus.

Hard to find and torn up due to construction on hwy 52, so not their fault.

Have the trucks fully fueled when they are picked up so that the customer does not need to fuel them right away.

We were new to this process, and the terms of our agreement weren't clearly explained to us, resulting in some charges we would have tried to avoid. Would recommend explaining terminology to new customers and going over how many miles are allowed for the trip. It was on our written contract that we only had a certain amount of miles, but we were never told this, so we didn't think to look for it.
