I would not rely on the uHaul website to get this, or any, part. I have no idea if this product works. It arrived days after the move was over. The website is flawed - I thought this adapter was being held for me at the counter. I ended up buying what I needed at the Walmart Supercenter when the rental center couldn't find my order for this part. Not only did Uhaul website ship the parts with an arrival date that was after the move, I ended up getting charged for shipping and had to make another run to return them to a uhaul store. 1-800-gouhaul was no help. My guess is this is a 3rd party that's handling accessory services and transition to the digital era.

Will this be long enough to fit around a California king sized bed that is being folded in half to move up stairs.. I understand that I will need more than 1.

–Jacquelyn Cook 3/6/2019 8:32:16 PM

Hello, Jacquelyn! We do not recommend using ratchet tie-downs around a mattress, as it will likely ruin the shape of the mattress. if you are attempting to move a mattress up stairs, we recommend something like the Mattress Mover carrying strap. I hope that is helpful!

Can I strap a pickup truck down with this strap?

–tony 10/20/2014 3:08:15 AM

"The RT Tie down can safely handle a maximum cargo weight of 800 lbs. (working load limit) and can accommodate unexpected forces up to 2,400 lbs. (break strength). If your pickup truck weighs more than 800 lbs, the RT tie down will not work, please select a tie down that has a working load limit exceeding the weight of your truck."

How do I loop the strap to the ratchet tie down?

–Rod murray 10/8/2014 5:40:10 AM

This is something that is very difficult to explain via text. I have two suggestions. Contact a local UHaul center and ask them to show you, or enter "ratchet tie down" in the YouTube search box. I checked YouTube and found videos that are extremely clear. If all fails, please call us at 1.866.277.6855. Thanks.

Is this a good option for tying down a mattress and box spring to the top luggage rack of an SUV? Is it long enough?

–Jack 12/23/2013 7:56:32 AM

It can handle it, just make sure you use a few of them spread out evenly.
