Eyewitness Accounts: Gerald Anderson
Gerald Anderson is a former police chief and county deputy sheriff who now works as a security officer. Although he was only five years old in July of 1947, he remains adamant about his account of the events that occurred.
He and his family had just moved to New Mexico from [classified]. According to Anderson, on his second day in the Southwest while exploring in the desert with his father, uncle, brother and cousin, they found a silver disc stuck into the side of a hill. He claims there were four alien creatures about 4 feet tall, with coal black eyes and almond-shaped heads that were disproportionately large for their bodies. He claimed the creatures huddled in the shadow of the 50-ft-diameter silver disk. Two of them were not moving, one was badly injured and the other one appeared fine. The uninjured creature appeared frightened. The adults tried to communicate with the being, Anderson said, but there was no audible response to greetings spoken in English and Spanish.

They'd been working on an archaeological dig a few miles away and were curious about what they thought was a fiery meteor crash the night before. Apparently, the professor, a Dr. [classified], used several foreign languages to coax a response from the creature, but was unsuccessful.
Anderson claims he touched one of the creatures and the spaceship. Although it was 115 degrees that day, Anderson insists it was cold near the craft and the metal felt like it came out of a freezer. The creature he touched felt cold and clammy.
According to Anderson, he approached the saucer a second time and apparently the upright creature turned and looked right at him. He remembers feeling as if the creature was inside his head. Anderson remembers a mental sensation of falling and tumbling end-over-end. "I felt that thing's fear, felt its depression, felt its loneliness. I relived the crash. I know the terror it went through. That one look told me everything that quickly," he said.
A contingent of armed soldiers suddenly appeared. The creature, which had calmed down after its initial fright, "went crazy" at the sight of the soldiers, who [classified][classified]. Anderson says he lost sight of the creature as the soldiers swarmed over the site and shoved the civilians from the craft.
