Eyewitness Accounts: Robert Porter
Sergeant Robert Porter was a B-29 flight engineer with the [classified]Bomb Squadron. He was a member of the flight crew who flew pieces of the wreckage to Fort Worth, Texas.
Sgt. Porter remembers the packages being very light and wrapped in brown paper. One was triangle-shaped about two and a half feet wide and there were three smaller, shoebox-sized packages. He claims, Captain [classified] said the items in the packages were pieces of a flying saucer.
When they landed at Fort Worth, Sgt. Porter claims the packages were transferred to a B-25 and flown to Wright Field. At that point, the flight crew was informed that the packages contained pieces of a weather balloon, but Sgt. Porter didn't believe it.
