Toyota Tacoma Hitch Installation Steps
1. Fish Wire Hardware
This vehicle requires no underbody preparation for the addition of the hitch. We can immediately start by using the fish wire method to attach our hardware to the vehicle’s frame. Our provided carriage bolts and blocks will need to be installed on the rear cross-member.
2. Line Up Hitch
With our hardware installed, we can now raise our hitch into its proper position. As we are lining up the hitch, be sure to feed the fish wire through the appropriate attachment points on the hitch.
3. Install Remaining Hardware
We can now install the remaining portion of our hardware. For each of the weld nuts we identified on the vehicle’s frame, we have a bolt and conical tooth washer that will be installed there. Once all of our hardware is in place we can remove the fish wire and attach our provided flange nuts.
4. Tighten and Torque Hardware
Now with everything in place, we can tighten and torque our hardware according to the manufacturer’s specifications. We will be using a 19mm socket for this.
You should now have your trailer hitch installed on your Toyota Tacoma.
