Moving involves many details, such as truck reservations, packing supplies, schedules, and sometimes storage. The app brings these tools together in one place so you can manage everything from your phone.  

Instead of jumping between websites and sorting through emails, use the app to easily view and manage reservations, find nearby U-Haul locations, and organize your move. In other words, the U-Haul app is essentially a moving planner in your pocket. 

The Home Tab 

The home tab is the first page that you see when you open the app. This is your moving dashboard. From here, you can quickly access U-Haul products and services without digging through multiple pages. Think of it as the starting point for planning your move.

One of the most popular features of the U-Haul app is reserving a moving truck directly from your phone. 

With just a few taps, you can select pickup and drop-off locations, compare truck sizes, and choose your rental date and time. Whether you're moving across town or across the country, the app helps you find the right truck for your move. You can also schedule 24/7 pickup and drop off with Truck Share 24/7, which allows you to complete the entire process directly in the app, even outside of normal store hours.  

Rent a Trailer and Towing Equipment 

If you need to haul equipment or extra furniture, the app lets you quickly reserve U-Haul cargo, utility, and vehicle trailers. Just enter your location and rental details to see available options nearby. You can also drop off your trailer any time you want using the U-Haul App. 

Book Moving Help® 

Moving days always seem to require more hands than expected. Through the app, you can quickly find and book Moving Help Services Providers near you. 

Simply choose the services you need, (such as loading, unloading, packing, or cleaning), enter your location and moving date, and browse available providers. You can compare reviews, ratings, and availability before selecting the option that works best for your schedule and budget. 

Reserve a Storage Unit 

Sometimes moving doesn’t happen all at once. If you need extra space or to check the prices before, during, or after your move, the app lets you search for nearby U-Haul self-storage locations and reserve a unit directly from your phone. 

Buy Moving Supplies 

Running out of packing tape halfway through packing is almost a moving tradition. Through the app, you can order moving boxes, bubble packing wrap, packing paper, and other supplies. You can choose same-day delivery or pick up your supplies at a nearby U-Haul center. 

Schedule Trailer Hitch Installation 

If you plan to tow a trailer, the app also lets you schedule a trailer hitch installation at a nearby U-Haul center. Just input your zip code to see nearby centers. With more than 1,500 install locations, our helpful U-Haul team members can get a trailer hitch on your vehicle in no time. 

Reserve a U-Box® Container 

For flexible moving and storage, the app also allows you to reserve U-Box portable containers. You can arrange delivery, loading, shipping, and storage directly from your phone. In addition, the app lets you complete key prep steps for your reservation, such as uploading documents and delivery notes, agreeing to terms and conditions, adding additional contacts, and making payments, all in one place.

Have you ever opened a box after moving and wondered where something important ended up? The My Belongings Organizer helps you keep track of your items by letting you upload photos, record where things are packed and organize your inventory. Your inventory remains private and only visible within your account. 

Trip Planner 

Driving a moving truck can feel a little different from your daily commute. The app includes a Trip Planner feature that helps you navigate routes designed for your U-Haul rental. Similar to Google Maps or Apple Maps, it helps guide you along the way while highlighting useful stops during your trip. 

The Trip Planner can also show routes with low-clearance warnings, helping you avoid roads, bridges, or passes that may not be suitable for larger trucks. For longer moves, this feature can make planning your journey much easier. 

Moving Supplies Calculator 

The Moving Supplies Calculator suggests a packing list based on details like the number of bedrooms, closets, and rooms in your home. It’s a quick way to estimate how many moving boxes and packing supplies you may need for your move.

The app can also help you locate nearby U-Haul services, including truck rentals, towing equipment, storage locations, trailer hitches, propane, moving supplies, and U-Box containers. This makes it easier to find what you need without searching online.
