Need a portable moving or storage solution? U-Haul U-Box® containers are a convenient and secure option to send your items to your new home or keep them safe on your property. U-Box® containers provide you extra time or temporary storage to relieve stress during your move.
If you’re interested, U-Haul will provide you with a free quote for your moving container needs. All it takes is to input your old address, your new address, what day you intend to move, your access option, and how many containers you will need. You won't have to worry about unexpected costs like fuel, hotel stays, extra driving time, etc. Using U-Box containers provides the convenience of knowing you can leave your items with us until you're ready.
What does U-Box® cost?
The foundation of your quote starts at $79.95 for the 30-day usage of one U-Box® container. However, there are a lot of aspects to your U-Box® quote. Your quote includes the price of the one-month usage multiplied by the number of containers you reserve. It also includes 24 furniture pads per container and the one-way transit fuel cost, but those are free of charge. Based on where you’re moving from and where you’re moving to, we’ll calculate the cost of gentle-ride shipping for your belongings.
The best part about U-Box® containers is there are no hidden fees! One delivery fee covers both drop off and pick up of your container(s).
Our Quote Versus Other Moving Container Companies
A quote for your future U-Box® container order is different than the other guys’ because the options we present to you. When creating your quote, there are four delivery options to choose from:
- Truck Deliver – We’ll bring your containers to your door on the day that you choose. You pack them up and we’ll pick them up to store or ship them to your destination. This is recommended when you have multiple containers.
- Full Service Delivery & Load – Let us do it all and you can enjoy the view. You pick local professional movers in your area through Moving Help® and they don’t get paid until the job is done properly. We drop off, pack, return, and store or ship.
- Self Delivery – At your nearest U-Haul location, you can pick up your U-Box® containers at your convenience for no additional fee. If you need to rent a truck or install a hitch to do so, U-Haul is here to help. You pack it and drop it off later, as always, we’ll do the rest for you.
- • Access at a U-Haul Location – Find the U-Haul location closest to you and load your U-Box® there. You pack on-site, and we’ll store or ship the belongings.
Your U-Box Container Reservation
We also provide a U-Box® container move timeline. The original date you selected will be to load your container. There will also be one final day to access your U-Box® container before shipping. Your items will then be picked up for a gentle ride shipping to their destination. We also provide a guaranteed arrival date to your neighborhood U-Haul location in your new hometown or city. After that date, you can schedule a delivery to your home.
When you make the reservation, we will collect your credit card information to hold your reservation. Nothing is due at the time of reservation unless you have selected Moving Help®. You will be charged the first month’s rent and delivery charge on the morning of the delivery. Every month thereafter, on the same day, we will charge your credit card with the monthly rent. If you are moving one-way, we charge shipping five days prior to your shipment arrival date. Any delivery charges will be charged to your card the morning of the delivery at your destination.
