U-Haul at WW White Adding to Self-Storage with Abutting Property
SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 30, 2017) — San Antonio residents have called on the U-Haul store at 4502 Rigsby Ave. for do-it-yourself moving products and services since 1978.
Until recently, U-Haul Moving & Storage at WW White lacked the space to expand its self-storage operations. But thanks to the recent acquisition of a one-acre abutting property directly behind the facility, U-Haul is adding additional self-storage options.
The current facility features 127 self-storage units and renovation plans call for the creation of 296 additional rooms with high-tech security features at affordable price points.
“There is a huge demand for self-storage in San Antonio, so we need to expand to meet that demand,” said Sam Molina, U-Haul Company of San Antonio East president. “We’re excited to add a range of self-storage options, including drive-up, indoor and climate-controlled units.”

Three dilapidated houses on the abutting property will be removed prior to construction of the new facility. Plans call for the construction of a contemporary two-story self-storage building. The project should be completed by December 2018.
“The area behind our facility was becoming an eyesore. When we’re done, it will be something both U-Haul and the City of San Antonio can be proud of,” Molina added.
“San Antonio is consistently ranked as a top U-Haul Destination City. Estimates show the city catching up with Houston in just a few years. These growing neighborhoods need the storage space we can provide.”
When the facility is fully operational, Molina expects to hire additional Team Members. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth in the Greater San Antonio area.
