You may be a person who considers yourself to be “green”. Perhaps you always recycle what you can, stay away from wasteful containers and packaging, and conserve by walking and biking when possible. When it comes time moving day, though, being green may be quickly become the least of your worries. On top of planning, packing, and renting your equipment, it can be easy to overlook the environmental impact your move will have. If you want to reduce the impact you have on our planet, then you are in luck. There are several simple things you can do on moving day to be more green. Below are the top three things to consider to be more earth friendly on moving day.
1. Start with the supplies. A green move starts with green supplies. This doesn’t mean you have to trudge around town collecting flimsy boxes from the back of grocery stores and dumpsters (just think of the gas you’re wasting). The less distance you have to drive to pick up and drop off your rental equipment, the less CO2 will be emitted into the environment.
