Under the Bed Storage

Whether you’re a minimalist or a hoarder, sometimes you just run out of room. No matter how much we organize, some people just always seem to need more space. A common area that some people tend to overlook is under the bed. It doesn’t have to be just a place where lost socks go and dust bunnies gather, this is a great place for storage!

Here are some ways to utilize the space under your bed:

Many people build drawers and some people use bins and baskets. This can be a simple DIY project that requires some time but it’ll help you organize better. Check out some of the ideas below.

For those who are looking for a simpler and cheaper DIY idea for under the bed storage, grab a box, some tape and a box cutter. This project is perfect for college students and those living in a temporary place or just someone who is on a budget!

Step 1: Tape both ends of your box.

Step 2: Use a boxcutter and cut the box in half horizontally. These halves will serve as your “drawers”.

Step 3(optional): Place a cell kit inside the box to create separate compartments to store small items such as socks, scarves and toys.

Step 4: To make handles, make two holes a couple inches apart from each other on the side of each half of the box. Take ribbon or twine, poke them through the holes and tie two thick knots on each end.

TIP: If you roll your clothes and put it into the separate compartments of the cell kit, it creates more room in your closet and cabinets!
