For some, summer means no school, vacation, opportunites to travel and reasons to be beach-side! Here’s a list of seven must-visit summer destinations:
7. San Diego, California
This is the perfect year-round city. The beaches surrounding San Diego are a must-visit summer destination for any age group. While I really enjoy going to Mission beach, there are many other beaches that are equally amazing. For really great food, I recommend heading on down to the “Gaslamp District” to enjoy the casual atmosphere, and chow down on the world-famous fish tacos!
6. Tampa, Florida
I like to call this city a diamond in the rough when it comes to vacation spots. Tampa has something for everyone to enjoy. If you have a family, then you must bring the kids. Busch Gardens Theme Park is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys wildlife and the thrills of roller coasters. Tampa also has a great selection of beaches you need to check out. If your interested in the nightlife, Tampa is one of the best-kept secrets on this list. Ybor City is an excellent place to enjoy great food and nightlife, and is a must-visit if you decide to vacation here.
5. Orlando, Florida
This is the most family-friendly city of the bunch. Orlando is well-known for having more theme parks than any other city I can think of. Disney World is a classic attraction if you have small children. Epcot Theme Park, to me, was the best because it’s less crowded and has more options for entertainment and dining, which my family enjoyed.
4. St. Louis, Missouri
Due to its mix of historical influences, noticeable in its architecture, monuments, cuisine and music, St. Louis offers visitors plenty of sight-seeing. Simply walking around its streets is a pleasure. While you’re roaming around keep an eye out for Busch Stadium. Home to the 11-time World Series Champions, the St. Louis Cardinals invite all visitors to stop by and enjoy a game of baseball. But don’t blame them when you can’t stop singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”.
3. Los Angeles, California
Known for being home to the glitz and glamour of the Hollywood elite, many people come to visit and end up staying to chase their dreams of fame. Me, on the other hand, I like to live in reality, so I will tell you a few spots that I found very relaxing in Los Angeles. If you enjoy beaches, then you came to the right place. I like the ones that are less populated. Make your way over to El Matador Beach to enjoy the beautiful ocean sunset. If you enjoy entertainment and nightlife, make sure to dress nicely and bring some cash…but if you’re in the mood for a casual time, then I recommend you try out the Piano Bar.
2. Denver, Colorado
If you’re looking to spend your summer doing outdoor activities, you’ll want to visit Denver this summer. The Mile High City offers visitors opportunities to go White Water Rafting or you can spend your time hiking at the Rocky Mountain National Park (imagine the selfies). You can also shop, cycle and see the sights using their bike share program. If you’re too tired to move after all that, head over to the spa at the historic Brown Palace Hotel.
1. Miami, Florida
In my opinion, this city takes the cake for top destination. Miami has some of the best beaches in the world. South Beach is a must-visit summer destination. The Cuban food is amazing! I recommend Little Havana if you desire a great cultural experience. The nightlife here is top notch, but if you want to keep to yourself, try one of the many resorts that Miami has to offer.
