From our Moving Insider family to yours, we’re wishing you the best of the season and a very Happy Thanksgiving! To celebrate, here are some things we are grateful and thankful for:
Sperry – A few years ago when I was still living in southern California, I had to move on very short notice. I was just out of college and my roommate had gotten a new job that meant a move to another city, so I did what most of us do – found my nearest U-Haul and started reserving equipment. It made me appreciate how reliable a service it is, to be able to call or show up on any given day and drive away with a truck, trailer, boxes, bubble wrap, really everything I needed to get my move done! I was thankful to have such a comprehensive and well-sorted service provider right in my neighborhood.
Alison – I’m thankful for U-Haul moving trucks, convenient locations, sturdy moving boxes and the utility plus furniture dollies. Moving into a new apartment across town and helping my parent’s move into their storage, each of the items have helped in a BIG way. I’m also thankful for family that are able to volunteer even at a last minutes notice.
Jennifer B. – I’m thankful for my amazing family and friends who are always there to lend a helping hand. But when they aren’t around to help, I’m thankful for the utility dolly as it helps me accomplish jobs that I would normally not do on my own.
Diana – When it comes to moving, I am always thankful for the friends and family who are willing to give up a day to help me move! They know they don’t have to but they choose to and that makes me feel great. I am also super thankful for the truck ramp. It makes moving those more awkward pieces much easier
Toni – As an experienced DIY Mover, with a LOT of clothes, I’m thankful for wardrobe boxes and stretch wrap during my move! Wardrobe boxes save me from having to remove my clothes from hangers! Plus I always throw light scarf’s, belts, and bags at the bottom of the wardrobe boxes to utilize all the space. Then I use an appliance dolly to roll it up the truck ramp. Stretch wrap is my other favorite moving supplies because I can use it to secure items in drawers, saving me spaces in boxes and removing the drawers helps lighten up my dressers and desks.
Becca – When my mom shipped me some holiday cookies this past week, I was very thankful for the enviro-bubble she used to keep them in one piece. Even after all of the cookies were gone, I still found use for the bubble wrap. As a form of stress relief and as gift-wrapping tool, bubble wrap gets a lot of use around my apartment!
David – I am thankful for the pizza, beer, and sense of accomplishment that I get to share with my family and friends once all of my items are unloaded from the truck. It is a big relief once you’re done moving because moving can be stressful, and it is nice to get to take a while and just relax with those I am close to.
Jennifer W. – When I’m moving, I always feel pulled in a million different directions at once. There are so many things to remember. I’m thankful for apps like Pinterest and my current favorite calendar and task-list app, Timeful. I definitely rely on technology to help me remember everything and stay organized. And, when the move is over, I’m thankful for leftover bubble wrap to pop for stress relief.
Lynnie – As a DIY mover, I’d have to say that the utility dolly has made my moves much easier! I am thankful for having the convenience of the utility dolly which has helped me move in and out of apartments smoothly. I can only carry so much, but with this dolly I save countless trips and a great amount of time when transporting items. It’s a moving day essential
Paige – For my most recent move, I was a little nervous as to what size truck I needed. I was downsizing into a smaller space from living alone to living with someone and that means I needed less stuff! I’m thankful that companies like U-Haul offer a wide range of moving trucks and vans to choose from. The cargo van happened to be the perfect sized option for my move! I can’t leave out my family who’s always there for support- which was needed on moving day.
Daisy – I am grateful for all my friends and family that have helped me move to 3 different dorms and 2 different apartments. I never knew I had so much stuff until I had to move it all but thanks to my friends and a sturdy dolly, I have my move down to only a couple of hours!
