The traditional moving day snacks for kids don’t have to be junk food! We have come up with a few ideas on some healthy alternatives for moving day. All these snacks can be prepared before hand so you don’t have to rush on moving day.
Fruits and Vegetables
Always a healthier choice, fruits and vegetable are a great moving day snack. Apples and bananas are great for grab-and-go. You can also prepare veggies like celery and carrots before hand. Oh, and if your kids are picky eaters and won’t eat veggies or fruit without a dip, some small plastic containers (you can usually buy a pack of them at the dollar store) work great for peanut butter or ranch.
Nuts, Granola, and Trail Mix
These snacks are definitely a must for a move as they are packed with protein, plus it is a simple snack. You can prepare your own with all your kids’ favorites or just buy packets of them. Either way, you can make these for the kids and for yourself. You’ll need the extra energy for moving the heavy items into the moving truck.
Grab-and-Go
There are many snacks out there that are designed specifically for on-the-go. They come individually packed in snack portions or in special containers.
Drinks
If you don’t have a small cooler, a move out-of-state might make you consider one. You can fill it with water bottles and juice boxes and bring it along on the road. This way there are less pit stops for cold beverages (unless it’s to use the restroom, of course).
