I had a horrible experience at this uhaul location and with uhaul in general. My reservation was changed to this location and the start time bumped to 1 hour later. This was inconvenient and I had to take an uber for half an hour to get there. When I arrived, the facility was dirty. My truck was parked there, but the staff told me they didn't have the truck in the system and spent more than an hour trying to find the truck in the system before they could rent it to me. The staff was cordial, but not very helpful. The situation was very stressful and caused large delays and inconveniences on my moving day since I arrived back at my apartment more than 1.5 hours after the original planned start time.Ross S.

My issue was more with the booking for the one way. No where did the Uhaul sytem say I would have to go as far as Toronto to pick up a truck. I even went in in person to the Peterborough UHaul Store to confirm and they indicated I may have to pick up the truck at one of the or 7 local outlets in the peterborough area., So having to get my wife to drive me to the Oshawa train station, take the train and then a cab to pick up the truck 2 hours away was a major annoyance. If this is the reality of one way you should say so it could be that far away before booking. further, 60 Sinnott Road does have blankets, so my wife had to drive back to Peterborough to pick up blankets - The day was a shit show. I will say the Eastern Ontario scheduler was helpful in trying to resolve the debacle and the folks in Peterborough were very helpfulDave M.

This was not the location I rented the truck from, it was changed a few hours before the pickup. The location was a long drive for me, which wasted a lot of time. And when I arrived the people at the location had no record about my rental, the online pickup didn't work and the wait time to get help was well over 1/2h. The agent at the location (well, via phone) was able to figure it out eventually, so the problem apparently wasn't the location, but UHaul. Super unprofessional and a major time waste for me. This has pretty significant knock one for me and I didn't manage to finish my move on he dayâ€¦ if you don't want to have agents at the pickup location, then you need to have somebody to contact to help with issues, a long waiting time of more than 1/2h at to call at pick up is absolutely not acceptable.Harald Dorian H.
When I have a moment during my move I will be phoning UHaul for compensation. I booked the truck for a 730am pickup. Upon arrival, the uhaul app would not let me pick up the truck. So I had to try to call the location before it opened at 9am. After discussions with several employees, some helpful, others not, I finally got the truck around 840am, about an hour late. I knew which truck would be mine, so I personally cleaned off the snow (not sure thats my job) as to be ready to leave asap because I had my condo elevator booked from 830am sharp. Finally got the truck, the floor was filthy, looks great on all my furniture now (thanks a bunch), turned on the ignition and the low fuel light is on. How do you operate like this??? So on my way to my move have to stop for gas immediately, back to the condo over an hour late, run out of time on the elevator and now I'm stuck having to rent a truck again for another move. I'll be on the phone with you're team shortly to see how we can resolve this and then I will sort out where I rent my next truck from. This rental experience was an absolute nightmare.James S.
I understand the main business for this location is not uhaul services, however I feel the staff who gave us/received back the key was too busy and did not acknowledged the reception of the key. This lack of interest in the transaction caused unnecessary delays. Probably it Would be better just to use the after hour service option. I was very frustrated as I went to the first location (4 Greystone Plaza, Scarborough), a Dry Cleaners. When I arrived the store was closed and no one answered the phone. Called U-Haul and was sent to 483 Kennedy Road, Scarborough. No drop box information. When I called they said I did not have a reservation, but the UHaul lady had made the reservation ( Rev #86379520). Then I went to 60 Sinnott Road where they initially said I would have to book online, even though the van I wanted was sitting in the street. A 55 minute wait to phone and book. Then they said they could do it. Took me over an hour to get the vehicle. When I finally got it, it worked out perfectly. Sounds like I am owed $50. Your reservation is guaranteed or we will give you $50 Should U-Haul, through its own fault fail to meet time, place and equipment size, a $50 "Reservation Guarantee" will be paid and U-Haul will still attempt to fill the reservation.MACBARTON-Valeri D.
Truck was filthy when I picked up. Was told that I have to take their insurance, that my credit card would not cover - not true. When I returned, was charged a $25 cleaning fee, plus a fuel charge (even though I filled up more gas than when I took it - have picture to prove). We picked up at a neighbourhood location which was at a towing lot. When we arrived, early for our pickup time, the guy there was in a tow truck and about to leave, leaving no one behind to help. When I flagged him down he was annoyed and unpleasant with us. We ended up to be missing a piece of information and had to leave and come back. He told us he'd be back by then. Long story short, when we got back, no one was around, and calling him at the business number was difficult, he wasn't helpful, told us to call back in 5 min, didn't answer, we called back after another 5 min and he told us he was on lunch and we'd have to wait, and it went on like this for a while. We had to give our CC over the phone in a public place and that wasn't comfortable. Eventually we got our truck at about 2pm and were very late. Our original pickup was at 11:15am. We were only gone for 30 min to go back home to get additional ID. The truck was not in great shape. I know these trucks go through a lot so I don't expect much, but the signals were hyper flashing despite all the exterior bulbs I could see working. We only noticed upon our first fuel up that it was missing a tow pin. We were towing with this vehicle and let them know ahead of time. We were told it came with a 2" ball so I assumed a pin would be there. The backup camera wasn't working so hooking up the trailer was more difficult, and the touchscreen was broken so no radio on our very long 10 hour drive. And the last thing, was that I have a Bluetooth operated trailer brake controller. I've used it with a U-Haul truck before. It just needs power to the 7-way trailer hookup, but the wiring to the 7-way seemed to be compromised because I kept getting power errors and had to tow my trailer without trailer brakes. Considering we paid over $200 for this rental, I would have liked it to do the basics of the job I needed it for. I'm really displeased, and if U-Haul isn't interested in compensating us for this experience then I'm going to have to consider Enterprise the next time I need a pickup truck rental.ADAMLOUIS D.

The man who runs it is ignorant. There was three of us waiting for rentals @11am yesterday. We waited for 45 min in the blazing heat/sun, he would not let us in the building which had a/c and nor would he let me even stand in shade at the side of the building. Customer service at uhaul was fantastic - he helped me through getting the keys and truck, all which I was dealing with while the man at the Towing place was being rude and even giving his staff a hard time about giving me keys to the truck I rented. I booked from 11-2 but got it from 12-2 but still it was managed properly by uhaul staff 110%. I completely recommend removing your services from this location as it is giving uhaul brand, reputation damage for sure!Crysta L.

You website is horrible. The website said the location opened early, but in fact the hours of operation were vastly different. I ordered a moving truck but the order changed it to a light truck. I never had a walk around the vehicle so the mileage was never checked before taking possession of it. The truck was returned in less time that was listed. There was no one at the location to check the mileage so when I finally received the bill I could not believe the total for mileage. When I tried to call to dispute the charges several times the answering machine said it would take over 20 minutes to speak to someone about the issues I had with UHaul. I will never use your services again and I will never recommend your services to anyone I know.Clement P.

I picked them up in the morning for a 24-hour rental and returned it within 6 hours and I was still charged extra for after-hours drop-off which never happened. I booked the trailer on line to pick up in Ajax, ON and went their to pick it up and was told I had to drive out of my way 1 hour into the city of Toronto during a rain storm to get it as some how Uhaul online system screwed up my order. I always rent from Ajax. I get to Toronto then I get berated and told to fuck off and that i am not getting the trailer by some guy Joesef at Uhaul. I was told i would get a discount for this inconvenience and the way things transpired and YET i was still charged full pop. I think this place is 4 stars at best, however, I'm giving them 5 stars because although the customer service is crap, the U-Haul service itself was pretty good. I was able to get and return my truck without any COVID risk, the truck was in mint condition and although there was an error in the invoice, U-Haul fixed it and charged me the right amount quickly. The worst experience we ever had. When I reached the pick up location I was asked to call a guy, he was so rude and was not at all interested in dealing customers. We were supposed to get the u haul at 11 am and we got it at 12:05 pm. He was acting like we had some kind of rivalry. He hanged up during the call when I asked about his rudeness. This location is not too convenient if you do not have a car. There were problems with U-Haul application that the office is using, it took 30 minutes for them to process me (I did choose the manual thing, not via app). Once they have verified you, and the rental has started, you will receive notification via text to confirm if the gas, mileage, and cleanliness is consistent from the last use. Once should take time to confirm and send photos as proof should those 3 are not correct. I sent the photo proof of the gas and mileage, but failed to send the pic for the cleanliness because I was in a hurry since the person that will be helping me haul is already in the location. So even though I cleaned (brushed off dirt) the inside of the U-Haul 9' truck, they still charge me with cleaning fee ($10), because it was muddy when I got it and it was muddy when I returned it. Mind you, it was not raining at all. Only the debris would I have contributed, but I cleaned those. But still I got charged. It was my fault though for not uploading a proof and choosing that it was dirt upon the confirmation from the app. So just a piece of advise to everyone, take time upload proofs when you rent the U-Haul. Other than that, it was a very goof first time experience with U-Haul.VANESSA P.

The reservation process was difficult. When I reserved the van I selected the Migson Public Storage location @ 2356 Gerrard Street E, Toronto because I don't have a car so was able to walk there. When I got there they didn't have a vehicle for me and I realized I was redirected. This was really inconvenient as I had to arrange a ride to the other location and lost time on the rental.Wanda M.
I had to call the numbers listed on the board outside the store, and I was told to call a different number . The finally picked up the truck. The CDW price was different in store which is not a big deal but it should have been up front and similar to online prices. After returning the truck with even more fuel than originally, I was charged for cleaning which I was not told in the beginning. I saw the reviews the day before I needed to get my truck and instantly knew I was in for a bad next day, I called customer service and tried my best to find another option for a rental but I couldn't get another truck the size I needed in all of the GTA. I called Uhaul at this location that day at 4:53pm as their location closed at 5pm. They were suppose to contact me to let me know my reservation was ready. When I talked to the rep from this location I was told to come pickup the keys the day before as I was planning to use the 24/7 rental pickup. They were going to just hand over the keys without me going through any of the paperwork to show I was reserving this truck which I'm sure was not part of Uhauls protocols and procedures. As I hoped in my car to leave to pickup the keys they call me back and let me know not to come because they're manager wouldn't allow it......He said call me at 6:30am tmr for your pickup to get the keys. Next day I get to the location and call exactly at 6:30am, this is the only thing that went well as the rep did pickup phone soon as I called. He said, "Give me 2 mins and I will call you back I have someone on location to handover the rental." I waited probably around 2 mins and one of the late shift towing guys opens up the door and asks me what truck I'm renting, I told him the 26ft truck. He proceeded to get the truck for me, which was behind a locked fenced gate behind the business. He pulls it up, hops out, and says "Here you go, it SHOULD be ready to go." I open the back of the truck.....this is where the nightmare begins, in my reservation I reserved 3 furniture dollys, 2 utility dollys. and 24 furniture pads. Yet when I open the back of the truck there is absolutely nothing in the truck. I tell the towing guy, "Hey where's all the stuff I'm suppose to have to help me for my move? he says, "I don't know I only do towing part for this company, and I don't take care of Uhaul." I call the Uhaul rep for this location 10 sec later and ask where is all my equipment for my rental. He says to let me talk to the Towing guy, and he starts to tell him to search the building for whatever I needed. I ended up having to look for this stuff with the towing guy inside their building, we were able to find the furniture pads and utility dollys but they had no furniture dollys. I talked to my brother-in-law and we decided not to deal with customer service at the time because we didnt want to waste anymore time on the move and thought we could manage with just the utility dollys. This ended up costing us greatly when we did do the move, I would say added at least 2 to 3 hours to the move not having all the proper equipment. The towing guy tried to help but the Uhaul rep was lazy, unprepared, and pushy. It appears he wants get fired soon really soon.timberlake M.

Don't make the mistake of ever using this location. The people who run this branch are plain and simple, liars and thieves. I had a bad feeling from the moment I arrived at the place. They had zero info on my order, finally came up with the Dozen moving blankets I placed on the order - I reconfirmed the cost for a dozen moving blankets@ $10.00, low and behold they charged me an extra 10 bucks on the receipt. They also added an $8.00 'cleaning charge' Uh huh. Liars and thieves. Additionally, some creepy character that worked at the location when I returned the truck asked me where I take my car for 'service' and then launched into a 10 minute speech on his brothers mechanic shop. When i phoned the place and questioned them about the additional charges, they hung up. I called uhaul, the lady I spoke with was great, and they processed a refund. I was overcharged for a few things. I did not agree to insurance, and I was charged for it. I was also charged a cleaning fee, when I made sure that I cleaned the truck after use. When I spoke to them, they said it was my responsibility to take pictures of the van beforehand. The person did not even do a walk through of the van, he just gave me the keys. You can disallow this location from representing Uhaul. We actually did not rent from here. We tried to reserve a van but the employee reserved a truck by mistake with our credit card. When we pointed out her error, she then put us into the general Uhaul system and we waited for another location with our desired vehicle, which we did rent. This location charged us a rental fee anyway. This is not our first issue with this location. Do not offer items such as a dolly if you do not actually have them available. Do not offer mobile pick up and then assign a truck number that doesn't exist. Have the trucks inspected more often. First truck we got (after waiting an hour at the location since the truck number you assigned was not actually there) had a burnt out rear brake light and a burnt out rear turn signal. Had to return to the location to exchange the truck for one that had working lights. Would have been very dangerous had we not had the good sense to check these things ourselves. Did not end up getting the truck until nearly 2 hours after my original reservation time. Very poor customer service. After waiting on hold for a half hour on the phone, the repetition I spoke to was rude and dismissive. He was clearly distracted by other things. Could hear him speaking to his wife / children in the background when he was supposed to be helping me with my issue. Demanded my credit card info without giving me a breakdown of the charges. Also was never told to refill the gas tank on the truck above the level at which I got it. You charged me an extra $32 for 1/8 of a tank of gas !! Which probably only costs about $6 to replace. Plus you charge per km driven (which I assumed was to cover the gas charges). This experience with uhaul was an absolute nightmare. Will definitely be using a different rental truck company for future moving needs.SABRINAHAILEY T.
