It wasn't so much the Hawkesbury Ontario location, its U-haul in general..After booking a trailer on line 3 weeks prior to the move at a neighborhood location in St.Jerome , I was left scrambling to find a trailer the day of the move since no one at U-haul bothered to actual book my rental.The fellow at the St.Jerome location had no record of my request. I am not impressed and by the sounds of it this is a common occurrence, I hope i never have to rent anything from U-haul again. The idea is great the service from U-haul is terrible !

The store is Disgusting and my reservation was messed up. I wanted a pick up in Hawkesbury but they had it down as Alfred. Was never contacted about the change so had to go backwards 25 minutes then back to Hawkesbury.

I went to pick up the truck on moving day, but they didn't have my reservation. After a while she was able to give me a truck but only if I promised to return it there instead of in the city u was moving to. So I ended up having to drive, and pay for an extra 100 kilometers. She was able to give me a 35$ discount but that's only maybe half of the extra kilometers I had to drive because someone at their location didn't enter my order or save it in their system. So I'm quite a bit p'd off. We managed though.

Trucks should be picked up with a full tank of gas and when you return you just fill it up. I picked up with half a tank of fuel and then you try to estimate how much fuel to put in. It rained that day and the wipers need to be replaced

The dealer was entering my contract when she left me standing to go and pump gas . Several customers were in line behind me waiting at the time. The vehicle had only 5000 km but was dirty and smelled of cigarettes. The ash tray was filled with cigarettes.

Truck need an alignment, steering wheel was 30 degrees off to drive straight. Truck was very clean at pickup, only good point. Despite I did my reservations 3 weeks before, We had to do 1 hour drive to pickup the truck to our nearest point.

the truck had trash hidden behind the bench, I had to wait 1:30 in my car because a customer had left the keys in the ignition and locked the doors. I know it wasn't their fault, but the truck hadn't been cleaned up against covid19 by standards. Forgot ... this place.

The trailer was fine. But the problem is the location. I've rented the trailer at 7 AM and the 24/7 Gas Plaza employee told me that she wasn't able to do the U-Haul because she wasn't ‘trained'. But on the website it said I was able to do an online checkout, which I did, but they didn't let me get the trailer... I had to wait an hour for the employee that came in for her work at 8 AM.

The location gave good service, but the internet registering was a waste of time, they confirm the order 3 time and was equipment and days required. The equipment was the 27' truck , needed a lot of maintenance, no powder steering, engine lock beeping for miles,

The lady at this location did a decent job trying to fix the absolute mess the customer service people made. So my issue isn't with the lady at this location but the company in general. The lack of competence with the staff on the phone made my move day 10x worse and stressful than it needed to be. Definitely not using this company for my next move.

First the truck I have reserve was not available then when I return the truck the lady added more gas then when I left ...I return the truck with the same amount as when I left but she said it was less and told me to go fill up or I would be charge for it I was given a bigger truck a 15 ft and I wanted a 10 ft

I was told that I can pick up my truck in Lachute for 6:30 am with my mobile app. THen I am sent a message that they changed my Location to pick up to Huckburry which is in Ontario. when I treid to get this fixed they insisted that I use Hugsburry location . I was told no problem to pick up at 6:30am and they would give pay my millage difference. When I went to pick it up I was informed that no one is there for Uhaul before 8:00am and that they were not aware that I was coming so they didn't prepare anything for me. They didn't even have the Furniture dolly and so that had to be removed from my bill. Also I had to pick up the blackets from the bag . They were pilled but not well organized. I feel like I was ripped off and should of been charged a lot less

The lady I dealt with was friendly and understood the wrong that UHaul did and called her supervisor to ask to have the extra costs waived, but the supervisor said there was nothing they could do because it was on the booking end. There are U Haul locations closer than where I had to return the truck. Public: ensure you know the route they are basing their mileage off of or find another company. There is more than just U Haul out there.

I find the fees to be a bit opaque. I was shocked by my final bill. The advertising says, $20 for the day for local trips. I only went to a nearby town and my bill ended up being $180 plus gas.

I first tried to book online but your system would not allow. I then went to the location where booking took 45 minutes due to the inexperience of the agent and issues with the system. On return I waited 30 minutes for my check in to be processed and the balance of my deposit returned due to issues with your system. After a day of moving furniture I could wait no longer so left with the agent's promise that the balance of my deposit will be available for pickup. We'll see. Not sure I will continue to be a U haul customer in the future. Way too much wasted time.

I have booked a truck on July 31st at the Peladeau auto in Vankleek Hill! When I got there the morning of Aug 17th.. the guy told me that they didn't have a truck! He told me to call the location in Hawkesbury! NOT HAPPY about the service there!! They should have called the day before to let me know that they didn't have a truck and they didn't tried to accommodate me as best as they can!! When I got to the hawkesbury location... waited about 45 minutes before getting served! I lost an hour of my day to wait in line and be even more disapointing in UHAUL!! I will never book a truck with Uhaul again! Very poor service and the persons wasn't helpful! I also paid too much because originally I was supose to bring the truck back in Ottawa but I had to bring it back to Hawkesbury!! Again very unsatisfied with Uhaul, will never recommend this company to anyone and will never rent a truck from you guys again!

the people who work at the gaz station on John St in Hawkesbury are retarded. I was there for 1 hour when I returned my truck. Ridiculous to have to wait that long. Plus the overcharged me. I was so tired of dealing with a stupid person that I left and stop arguing with them

The people were friendly, but the van was dirty in the front. I've had tree bad experiences with Uhaul one after the other, especially the two last ones. One truck smelled because it was burning oil. We were breathing all this crap. Plus the truck was shacking like crazy. We were not sure what the problem was, but it was for sure either the brake system, callipers, rotes, ball joints in that area. We had to drive back very slowly. I had called Uhaul with the problem, but the company they hired to come and tow the truck told us that we would have to remove all of the furniture from the truck in order to tow it and that would have been an impossibility unless Uhaul would have paid for all the trouble in which I'm sure they would have never done, and knowing full well the situation, they did not mention that option. We managed to bring the truck back safely by driving it slowly. The other last situation is that the truck again smelled like oil, but not as bad, but this one for whatever reason release heat into the cabin even dough the heat, the fan were shut and the temperature was at cool. Even with the window open on that very nice sunny day, the heat was still pouring in and so we decided to put the AC on which cost us more in gas as a result. Uhaul is surely the poorest rental truck company and what I mean by poor doesn't mean they don't have money, they do, but poor in quality control at all levels of the business. I would not recommend that company for first pick unless there was no other way financially and or availability from other companies. The disappointing too is that no compensation was offered and given as a result that was from their poor maintenance and poor quality control on their part. Shame on you Uhaul for not stepping up to the plate and compensate me for the bad experience. Gilles Cadieux

I was very pleased with the pickup and drop off locations. But unfortunately. Russel was not my preferred location. And was a 70 km drive for me. This was even more annoying because my preferred location ( prince of whales , Ottawa Ontario ) had a car transport but would not give it to me he argued with us that my pickup location was Hawkesbury. Even after we showed him that Hawkesbury was listed as my destination. So instead of picking up the trailer 2 minutes from my house. I had to drive 70 km. And wast fuel and 2 hours of time. As far as I am concerned I will never recommend your Ottawa Ontario prince of whales location to anyone.

This is not directed to the facility itself. This particular truck had tires that were absolutely bald and would never pass a safety and thank God I never got stopped by MTO because they would have definitely had something to say about this.

Upon return of this one way drop-off rental trailer, the personnel checked the condition of the trailer, and asked if the wiring harness was mine or part of the trailer. I indicated it was part of the rental. He removed it and brought it into the store. Upon checking the rental in the system for my deposit refund, the rental system/computer FROZE... I had time, so I shopped in the store. The individual tried to seek assistance, by phone, and then in consultation with another individual present. My paper receipt did indicate the deposit I had made. I was asked a while later by what method I had paid for the rental. I replied that the rental was paid for in cash.Eventually the store had me sign a form that I had received my deposit back, and gave me a copy of that form, and gave me my deposit in cash. I am not certain why the system/computer froze. There was unfortunately quite a lengthy delay involved in my deposit refund, but since I was not in a hurry, I shopped and bought some merchandise at the store. I was patient, and was not bothered by this delay. Other clients who might be in a hurry, or impatient might have found this delay intolerable, however. Staff were pleasant and courteous.

No agent present on site. Had to complete the reservation over phone. Was unable to obtain precise information from the agent in charge on how many KM were included, fee for exceeding KM and fee for bringing the truck later than the 24 hour reservation. Took more than an hour and a half and had to call a general uhaul agent directly to finally have all the information, place my reservation and get the equipment. Yonk
