I spend 15 minutes booking online and when I show up, the same questions are asked. Therefore another 15 minutes wasted. I rent regularly from U Haul. Why bothering going online to book then? There is absolutely no gain in time saving.SIMON D.

There was a communication error in instructions from a French speaking man about where to leave the key when returning the truck. I thought it was an odd request to leave the key inside and lock the truck and after trying to clarify this with him in English I apparently misunderstood as I left the key inside the the locked truck. This miscommunication caused an issue for the staff at the location and they called my cell to advise me of this. I sincerely apologize again for the error and any inconvenience it may have caused. Complaint. I reserved a car trailer for 54.95 + tax by phone at 530 pm ET Aug 3 with Jackie in Iowa. However the attendant Robert in Hawkesbury Ontario Canada at 545pm to 605 pm : 1delayed me 20 min because he could find the reservation.!! 2 Charged me 8$ + tax for ins. eventhough I said no thanks!! 3He then attached the trailer to my truck and took a picture. 4 However he failed to notice that someone had stolen the safety bolt and pin as it was missing. 5 Luckily the empty trailer did not separate from my truck for the 15 min drive I took. 6 However when loading the vehicle on the uhaul trailer, the uhaul tongue lifted rapidly as it pulled the towball and hitch bar out and dented my 2003 trailblazer tailgate the size of a looney chipping the paint. Its an older work truck . 7 I also had to hammer a protruding piece of metal on the right side ramp of the uhaul trailer that was not pointed out to me as it would have damaged my right tires I would hope that more care and proper service and that this won t happen again. I thus would appreciate some form of credit and refund for the inconvenience and damage and the unauthorized insurance charge as I am already insured for renting a trailer CRoblin 5147145682Christopher R.

A text or email before the rental that confirms drivers license and references. It kind of sucked to be doing this step just before checking the vehicle. Could have made for a faster pick up had this step been taken earlier for instance when the booking was scheduled.MARIE-ANDREE J.
Have the Adaptor for the lights we had to go buy an adaptor for our truck because it's too new for it. We didn't get to leave the lot for over an hour and a half so we had to bring it back an hour late and get then we got charged for double the owing it because of it plus the trailer is considered a 6 x 12 and a hot tub didn't fit because the doors Made it a lot smaller we had to use the truck so we pulled it for nothingSteven C.

The vehicle had a strong odor which we determined was possibly due to a pet as there was dry dog food on the floor under the seats. Also, there was an old Freebie wrapper in the door compartment. In addition, the front left fender rubbed against the tire when turning left. I reported this to the Pick Up Location employee and then called UHaul to report the issue as I did not want to be held liable at a later date. The vehicle needs a good cleaning and attention to the front left fender. It served its purpose for the job we had but I was not pleased to be driving and nervous about turning left all of the time...and taking different routes to avoid turning left. I would have liked to be offered a different vehicle as there were options on the lot or possibly being offered a slight discount as I don't believe the van had been properly inspected after the last customer returned it.Carolyn H.

I rent trailers often at U-Haulâ€¦ The woman I deal with here is great. Efficient, knows the equipment and how to set up properly. Wish I could say the same for other U-Haul locations.Jonathan B.
The agent on the desk was very helpful when she explained that the contract/website was using miles even though the truck was showing kilometers. Very confusing on the checkout process and caused a significant delay. Again, it was a uhaul website/contract problem, not the agent that caused the problem.PETER H.

The man working there was alone , he had to deal with the store customers, he had to go outside and pump gas and also deal with the Uhaul customers. The equipment was great except there were no more furniture dollies and I had reserved one. Aside from the wait times it was OK.Mike Y.

Lady took 1 hour to process the people who were waiting for trucks. She was incompetent and she kept going to fuel cars at gas station and making people wait. She was unprepared and alone for that length of time where all customer were schedule to come and pick up the vehicles. Furthermore there was 4 26 feet truck and 5 groups waiting with their reservations confirmation so it made things people really worried and ill at ease. I got there at 7:30 am was told that the lady would not be there until 8 am and when she came in she told all of us that she starts at 8 and not a minute before. She was really incompetent at the computer kept making mistakes.DANIELLE S.

1. the keys for the van I had reserved were at home - with the owner. I had to wait for her to come, and unload some personal items from the van, then give me the keys. very dirty inside. "Oil Change due" light was on. 2. upon return of the vehicle, I showed the clerk my gas receipt as proof I had re-filled the tank to more than the original level. As I was tired, did not really check the final invoice until I got home that night. Sure enough, I was charged for gas. Have been trying to get a refund, no one is answering my emails. As per other reviews, horrible, horrible franchise at this location. I wish there was another u-haul in the area - but they all seem to close up as fast as I find them. Just wish this owner was more interested in running a successful franchise instead of just trying to make a buck !Christine M.

Worse experience with Uhall to date. I asked the attendant for a certain unit which she did not provide stating that they didn't have this one. Despite the fact that when I first booked 4 days in advance I specifically asked her to get one for me. As a result, the unit was too small and I had to make 2 trips costing me more than if I had use a moving company. zBeside the attendant is rude and I do not recommend this location to anyone. Due to general cleanliness (and obviously Covid 19) I made sure to bring some disinfectant wipes with me when I collected the vehicle and was disgusted to find out the steering wheel, shifter, radio; driver's seat and other general areas of use left the wipes a very dirty, gross brown color. I would expect either UHaul or the rental location itself to thoroughly clean the vehicles and equipment after every use! Especially with this pandemic upon us!Patrice B.

Make sure trucks are available for customers that made reservations at time of pick-up. Trucks were either stuck in the ice, not starting or not at the location. I made a reservation for 8 and I had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes to get my truck. I would never recommend. Poor service!Melisande G.

It wasn't so much the Hawkesbury Ontario location, its U-haul in general..After booking a trailer on line 3 weeks prior to the move at a neighborhood location in St.Jerome , I was left scrambling to find a trailer the day of the move since no one at U-haul bothered to actual book my rental.The fellow at the St.Jerome location had no record of my request. I am not impressed and by the sounds of it this is a common occurrence, I hope i never have to rent anything from U-haul again. The idea is great the service from U-haul is terrible !Wade M.

I went to pick up the truck on moving day, but they didn't have my reservation. After a while she was able to give me a truck but only if I promised to return it there instead of in the city u was moving to. So I ended up having to drive, and pay for an extra 100 kilometers. She was able to give me a 35$ discount but that's only maybe half of the extra kilometers I had to drive because someone at their location didn't enter my order or save it in their system.
