My rental experience overall was poor. The truck was great. No problems. But I rented to go from Monterey to Arcata and back. It's about 400 miles one way. I was told I'd have a little over 800 miles. My contract was totally botched in that the scheduler had to put in that I was going from San Jose to Arcata to get me a better deal apparently. Of course UHaul then charged me almost 70$ extra for the additional miles twice between Monterey and San Jose. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. One star as this cost me an hour of time at time of rental to work out that I was returning to Monterey and not San Jose. And then the added 67$ for “extra” miles which were not extra at all. They just had the wrong start/endpoint.

The truck smelled like smoke when we got in. Also, the key drop off process was miserable. It needs to be more streamlined. I had to run back and forth from my car to the truck 3 times before I could drop the keys off.

The man working was great. Uhaul's ridiculous price gouging was ridiculous. The online system failed and the man was unable to print me a receipt. The people that helped me throughout this experience were great, but Uhaul's awful website and online interface was so terrible I will be seeking an alternative next time I need to rent a moving truck.

The guy that helped me out was super friendly! But I've been trying to get something squared away with my receipt now for almost two weeks with minimal help from the staff. I was charged for the extra insurance ($30) when I never requested it. Both in the office and online I explicitly stated I did not want the extra charge, but noticed it was added into my final bill... Still waiting for a response after reaching out multiple times.

Rob was friendly and helpful. However, the 20ft I reserved was not at the store at 0830 and I got a phone call just minutes before 830 while I was on the way there about the truck not being there. I was told that it will be at Greenfield, CA not Montetey, CA at 10AM not 0830AM. This infuriated me due to the fact that I even spoke to the customer center the day before to confirm that I got my 20' truck for my move then this happened. Thankfully, Rob rented me a 15footer and i literally made it work. A complaint was filed by Edward for me over the phone ref. #2150104 an update would be great on that.

1. Difficult to locate and no parking available for drop off while we had to sit and wait for person to come back from lunch 2. We gave back more gas than we received at time of pick up - and yet your company charged us $1.17 extra for going over our mileage - which probably occurred while we were trying to locate this property and find a place to park the truck while we waited.

My receipt shows a charge on the 15' truck and a dolly for the total amt of $397.57 at this location although a dolly was not available. The rep that helped me with this reservation indicated that dolly was not available but offered me a car transport for the same price and pick up at Del Monte location. However, I was charged separately for the amount of $64.16. The bottom line is that I was charged separately for the dolly and car transport. Request for a refund and please reach out to me if you have any questions.

No problem with the location, however i am not a happy customer. I drove the truck19 miles, put 2 gallons of gas in the tank and was charged an additional $10.00 for gas. Apparently when i checked the vehicle out, the gas tank reading was incorrect. When i have a choice, i won't be using uhaul in the future.

Truck was pretty beat up. I ordered 2 dozen blankets; facility only had 15 but did not notify me until there. Told at drop off that blankets needed to be folded. Perhaps this is written somewhere, but would be helpful to highlight. Blankets were dirty. Overall, good value for the money but not a great experience.

Renter was obnoxious, overcharged me from the rate I was quoted, was rude, impatient, and list goes on and on. If I was part of undercover boss and was the CEO, I would have broken my cover and fired this person instantly. The amount of time I have spent in dealing with over-charged and incompetence requires compensation. I have rented with Uhaul constantly through the years and have never had a single issue; until now. Nothing about the experience at this location was acceptable. If I absolutely did not have to have the truck, I would not have taken it. This location needs serious re-structuring immediately. Finally, some compensation would be appreciated for this horrific treatment, additional wasted time, and general inconvenience.

I made my reservation at the 2330 Del Monte location...for a reason. I got there early, waited in line for 30 minutes just to be told that they did not have the truck and I needed to go to the airport road location. I had gotten an order confirmation when I made the order so it would GREATLY improve your customer service if the equipment was at the location in which you agreed to rent it out. If there are no available trucks at the location, it should state that when the reservation is being made and suggest another location close by. Thanks to this, I lost an hour of valuable moving time off my reservation and had to leave my vehicle unattended and unsafe outside the gate at the bottom of airport road and hope it did not get broken into.

Charge customers that do not return vehicle on time, esp. when another customer is waiting it, a 300 fee to cover the loses incurred by the person that had the reservation on the truck and is stuck waiting for the truck with movers on the clock

I've rented from this location in the past, and didn't realize this was where I was dropping off my truck. The associate ( I believe his name is Rob ) is the most friendly and cheerful Uhaul associate I've ever met! Taking care of multiple customers at once and making it such a pleasant experience! A++! Wasn't able to address truck issues because office was closed by the time I unloaded my truck.

The address is not on Airport Rd. my gps was also confused. Ended up at a nearby U-haul that was closed but the staff at 1118 directed me in the correct way and the drop off went smoothly.

Originally I was supposed to pick up on Del Monte Ave. They did not communicate well at all. Then told me to drive two hours north to pick up the truck. Then told us they would be open and were closed when we arrived. Then moved me from a 15ft to 20ft and finally to a 26ft truck. The main location was awful as were customer service reps in the phone. Finally I found Terry (?) at the travel center. She was amazing! Kind, helpful and completely focused on my needs. She sent me to the guys on Airport Rd and they were wonderful and helpful. I made it driving the huge truck though I could use a massage for tension.

My preferred pick up location that I reserved online was changed at the last minute (4pm on Friday for 9am Sat pick up) by your corporate office leaving me stranded and forced to take a taxis to pick up my truck. If your company will not honor online location choices, then you should remove the option from your website. The representative onsight agreed that the change without adequate notification was an embarassment for your company, but despite the bad start, was most helpful in getting me on my way.

Customer service is a bit hostel in the manner that they persistently remind you what would happen if any damages where to be done even though coverage was purchased. Presenting this topic in a more appealing manner would have made the experience better.

The price quoted per mile was not the amount charged in the receipt. It would help if they were the same. i was told that an adjustment would be made. I will wait a week and then visit the location in person to see if a change will be made or if they just said that to get me out the door

Truck had been swept out but inside walls and the attic space were covered in dust. Should've been hosed out/washed.

Developed a checklist for customers to follow to make sure the attendant loads a trailer properly. My attendant forgot to tighten the car trailer to the ball of the hitch. When I started to load a car onto the car trailer, the trailer popped off of my hitch. Make sure you explain how the fender of the car trailer folds down to allow the driver to get out after loading the car instead of climbing through the window because the car door won't open unless the fender is folded down.

Having rented 2X in 2 weeks from this location and both times the location representative expressed consternation with the online booking system, almost blaming me for using it instead of calling up to book. His lack of training translated into 2 rather uncomfortable transactions.

Park cars & or trucks. It would be nice to be able to park a moving truck locally if you have plans to leave early in the morning and have no place to park the truck. Would also be nice if you could park a car in the area where you are renting the truck for short rentals, such as 2--5 hours.

When I was taking out the van, I was told that I needed to use a credit card for the "hold" but that it would not be charged until I returned the van and all the final charges were calculated. I was fine with that. However, at the time of taking out the van I asked them if when I paid at the time of return, could I actually use a debit card to pay the cost. They said 'yes,' I could. When I returned the van the two people whom I had spoken to when taking out the van were not present. The man who was present said that I could not use my debit card to pay. I explained to him what I had been told earlier. He then scanned or pretended to scan the debit card which I wanted to pay with, and I left thinking that the debit card had been charged like I wanted. When I looked at my online CREDIT CARD statement, I saw that he had deceived me and really just charged everything to the credit card. He did not use the debit card I requested and misled me into thinking he had. Dishonest!
