They don't allow parking on their lot so we had to find somewhere else that would allow us to park overnight. Only one out of three 12-volt plug-ins worked in the cab of the truck. Would only recommend because it's the only place in the area open so really no choice.CARLGRANT S.
Even though we had a small incident that damaged the front hood the personnel was very concerned about our safety and not worried about the damage. It was a smooth transaction. I would recommend getting the insurance as it paid off for us. In the future i would hope one ways will have a more newer model. Ours was an old one and after 7 hrs of shaking it was a relief to get out of that vehicle.WILLIAMD L.

They should be open on Saturday or Sunday, not by appointment, had to wait 30 minutes more, there was a person that was supposed to pickup is trailer the day before, they didn't show to his appointment, he had to come the next day.JACOB L.

Truck was clearly used to haul drywall and other construction garbage to the dump. Wasn't well swept our cleaned. Ramp was full of dust. Front seats were ripped or cut. I have pictures if somone wants to reach out to me and provide an email address to send them too. As for recommend they are very nice staff inside but the trucks were better maintained at ok tire. We don't really have alot of options in elliot lake so this has to be the location I use. The office staff are very friendly but like I said maintained on the trucks needs improving.JESSICAANN MARIE H.

The wires were hanging for the license plate light and the drivers side clearance lights. Only would have taken someone 10 minutes to crimp a new connector on both wires. There were two auto transporters there and the second one was not available because a tire was flat. No one came out to make sure I was hooked up correctly and everything was functional. I understand some of these locations have very little mechanical abilities and can't do these repairs but they could report them so repairs could be arranged. Otherwise it worked well and the tires, ramps and straps were good.wallace F.

Two days before the pickup date in Elliot Lake I made the equipment rental reservation at Appliance Busters instead of online or toll free directly with U-HAUL. In Hindsight, I made Big Mistake!! All was going ok until pickup time when the Boss man REFUSED to let me pick up the auto transport trailer that was recorded on my rental contract & insisted that I take an older & smaller trailer that was parked right beside it.. Although I told him that I needed the widest trailer to transport my Ford Windstar he falsely claimed that the trailers were both the same width & I grudgingly left his lot with the trailer that I later measured & confirmed was 5 inches less wider than the one on my rental contract. Before transporting my Windstar, I had to drive 50km round trip to switch out the auto transport trailers. The truck I rented was full of light colored dog hair under the seats, between the seats & on the dashboard that I only noticed as I was driving down the highway & the dog hair began floating around inside the truck cab. I RECOMMEND that customers rent the equipment directly with U-HAUL online or Toll Free & meticulously inspect the equipment for cleanliness & damage or defects BEFORE leaving the parking lot.ERIC W.

you need a person that knows what to do and keep a verbal agreement on the truck I was to pick up . It's a good thing I checked your equipment before leaving or it would not have made the trip . I picked up the truck and it was down 2 liters of oil .Peter W.

Staff rep was very courteous; vehicle dollies (2) need new tires-tread worn to wear indicators and showing cracking (showed staff rep), safety chains far too long (had to bungee up excess to keep from dragging ) to safely secure trailer to towing vehicle-safety chains measured with significant uneven length; 1 @ 48 inches. 1 @ 39 inches- no locking clips to attach to vehicle(simply "S" hooks); electrical hookup fixed approx. 3 feet rear of tongue-customer vehicle will require extra long connector to reach uhaul dolly connector; and recommend customer bring ratchet straps to tie down dolly ramps as they are extremely noisy as dolly travels about on town streets(everyone hears you coming- some get startled by the extreme noise as you pass them)--noise was not an issue on highways that are reasonably smooth--dolly has no brakes so be very respectful of the load weight and stopping distances not to mention its additional wheel width--otherwise, the dolly worked well including its lights. Slow down with a load and stay safe! ;)Jerry P.

We had to drive 2 and a half hours to this location one way and back to our place the day before our long trip to Calgary. They kept tell us they were not open, only in the morning until 10 am. My husband had to leave at 5:30 to accommodate their hours.Mary R.
They over charge you right under your nose then try to tell you that it was part of your payment. I paid almost $700 for a $400 U-Haul. Then I was charged for extra gas because they didnt keep track of it properly when I picked up, the uhaul was also full of broken glass when I picked up and was very hard to drive, the steering was stiff and the truck wasn't maintained at all. I was refused my deposit back that was $100, this company has been nothing but issues for us. I do not recommend at all.Georgina M.
We booked a 5x8 trailer for Sault Ste Marie pickup, 30 days in advance. U-Haul did not meet their commitment of providing a unit in Sault Ste Marie on the date requested. The only unit available was 200 km away in Elliot Lake. This is not acceptable..MICHAELG N.
Horrible experience with uhaul this trip. Prior to getting a uhaul at this location, I had booked one in Sudbury and drove 20 hours only to find out that they rented them out on me and I had to wait until Monday and then drive 3 hours to pick up my own trailer!michelle R.

My rental truck was extremely late, I was to pick it up for 10am , it wasn't available and the lady called and asked about it several times leading us to believe it would be arriving in 2 hours , then another hour , then we were told they hadn't even left espanola and would be another 2 hours and so on till about 4-5 pm , since My helper took time off work to help me it had to be done that day and that meant we had to load up late and drove over 2 hours to the new place and had to rush to unload so that the truck could be returned that night and my help could be available for work the next day.Jason B.

We had emergency and needed this vehicle to take camper to Niagara Falls Ontario The truck we got was only one they had It was dirty it had dog hair still everywhere The truck stunk like cigarettes Only one person working and did not go over truck at all just got handed keys ... Absolutely the worst uhaul experience ever. Was told the mileage was paid and just got a $80 charge for that and the truck was in tge worst shape shook and rattled and made crazy sounds actually almost went off the highway cause the allignment is off and the oil light was on. Very nerve racking trip and still being charged for it!!! Wow you would think they could help out by maybe eating the charge for me putting my life at risk in that heap of junk... Thanks alot Uhaul keep sending people out in danger and charging them extra.... Will be getting a hold of MTO to look into their vehicles.COREY B.

the tongue of the trailer had damages, as it was bent, not sure it should be in service? we used it however had some concerns and took photos prior to using as well. trailer was clean and otherwise good, lights worked etc , good tires.BLAIR B.

I had book a motorcycle trailer, but they only had a 5x9 RT, which in itself was fine as it worked fine for what I wanted to do. The issue came when I was being invoiced. Apparently your billing application cannot properly handle a change in trailers from an online reservation. It took over 30 mins & a phone call to the support line to have support change the trailer type so I could get properly billed. Wasted time for me, this should have been a simple fix from the local terminal without a call to support to get them to change it. Looks bad on U-Haul, not the local office.Douglas M.

I would recommend this location firstly because it's the only rental service in town, and bottom line, the service is good, staff very pleasant. Took some time to get the truck as there were technical difficulties with the computer system and the original truck I reserved turned out to not be available upon my arrival. The truck itself was great, excellent condition, ran well. My only negative from the experience is the final charge upon return was a surprise and maybe could have been explained clearer upfront. To be honest, I was expecting this to cost be about half of what it actually turned out to be. I didn't even have the truck for 48 hours. I'm a single parent who had to emergently pick my kid up from college residence because of sudden shut down due to COVID restrictions. You're the only game in town for rental trucks, so I had no choice but to use your service. Huge financial burden for me. I wish it hadn't been so expensive in the end, as everything else about the service was good.CHRISTINA T.
