The van's blinker didn't work and the check engine light was on the entire time. Driving a van this huge with no experience was EXTREMELY stressful without a left blinker on the crowded NYC highway! However, the team at the location that helped me get checked in, blankets, etc. was very kind and helpful. I have only good things to say about the individuals working there. It's the condition of the van that was really bad and added extra stress to the challenge of moving in the city.

This comment is for U-Haul Moving & Storage of Parkslope 394 4th Ave Brooklyn, NY 11215 (718) 237-2893 They need to be shut down. I had pre-reserved online and it said to just pick up keys and go. i WAITED 10 MINUTES FOR THE WOMAN AT THE EXPRESS PICKUP AREA TO PICK UP HER HEAD TO TELL ME TO GO WAIT INLINE DESPITE HAVING EXPRESS PICKUP. That caused me to loos my place in line and wait another 30 minutes. Got in line and waited a total of one hour and when I got to the desk they told me that had not trucks left and my reservation as moved to another location at Atlantic Ave which took care of me quickly and efficiently It';s the kind of service and treatment that one remembers for their entire life and will make sure to tell as many people about Uhaul as possible.

Inform the customer of the need to have their driver license copied and sent to rent the van. This was the first time that I ever had to do this to rent a van. The staff was awesome of renting. I recommend that location to everyone I know and alot of people has been coming there still. Thank you Helena Crump

The infrastructure of this location is simply not built to support this volume of customers nor is it built to protect from any issues. The representative was very nice, but the credit card machines were malfunctioning for half an hour and they were unable to take cash.

Don’t confirm and then change reservations to alternate vehicles when person is already enroute (especially if they’re coming from a far distance and going one way trips), forcing them to “take whats available”.

Easy pickup and drop off, super clean moving van, and nice people who made the whole process so much less stressful. The only difficult part was getting ahold of a Uhaul customer service rep on the phone when we had a question during the moving process, but the folks at the location were very helpful and accommodating when we were there. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it to other friends or family members when they move!

No one checked our truck or did a walk around. When we got to the truck, there were dents and scratches on the side (which is fine, but I did take pictures just in case it came back on me); however, what wasn’t okay, was there was broken glass all over the inside of the truck: floor, cup holders, seats, etc.

Scheduled to drop trailer at U Haul Brooklyn NY. Got there they would not take said had no space?? Called the U Haul I picked up from and told him and he said had never heard that excuse. Had to go to another place and drop which was okay. Early in the morning don't need the NY attitude!!

When I showed up for my 6:30 am pick up that was confirmed by u-haul the person at the place said no keys were left for me. So I needed to return at 8am to pick up my van. I also tried to return it in Manhattan because I found out there was a u-haul drop off right where I was moving into. I went to see if I could drop it off and at first they said yes, then said because it’s in town I couldn’t unless I wanted to be charged twice. That’s just annoying, they had room, they wanted another van to be available and I couldn’t drop it off. Instead I drove 18mies to return it, I originally expected to do that but it’s annoying this couldn’t have been changed

The uhaul was filthy. Cigarette ashes and butts on the dash board. Locations should make an effort to clean the vehicles once in a while.

The checkout process was great! They came out to meet me at the pump, got my payment process going in parallel to another customers and I was in and out in under 10 minutes total. Great experience!

There wasn’t a lot of space for drop offs of the vehicles near the location because it is a busy intersection and a gas station. It was also unclear if the parking lot across the street was for use as well.

Inside the gas station looks dusty as heck. Yes, it's super close to my house and yes it's very handy to be next to a gas station, but geez louis update the building or something.

The truck was damaged and dirty, and two of the moving blankets were wet and dirty. When I mentioned this to the representative, he assured me everything was fine, despite a hole in the floor of the UHaul. I will not be coming back.

Vehicle was a mess, smelt like the technician passed gas in it right before I got in and I was ripped off! I had returned the vehicle with more gas than when I received it (the vehicle was basically empty when got in and I filled it to a quarter tank) and I still was charged a refuel and service fee... I called about and was told that I’m lying and got the phone hung up on me. As is moving isn’t stressful enough. TERRIBLE.

The van I'd reserved wasn't there. I had to call and have a new van assigned. The attendant wouldn't give me keys to the new van until he got a call from his boss confirming which never happened. I had to call UHaul again to sort it out. In total, I finally got access to a van an hour after scheduled.

Terrible service. Wasn’t notified about a location change to pickup my uhaul. Inconveniently scrambled to get to my new uhaul destination before they closed. Super difficult to edit the reservation time since they didn’t notify me of the change in location at any point. Customer service was POOR to say the least. Rude, difficult, and careless. The new uhaul destination that was given to me was in a gas station... and the uhaul was dirty and looked like the previous users had a trippy party in it. I had to pay extra in mileage because of the location change. Not to mention extra cost of Uber’s. Will never use uhaul again. For the price paid; I could have used a moving service to do it for me. If I could, I would give a negative rating

My husband and I informed the man that we did not want insurance and I was charged insurance. I emailed U-Haul, they never got back to me. Now I have to resort to writing a letter to the company about this mistake. I will never use U-Haul again. If you can resolve this, please email me back at Destinyd.james@gmail.com

The cost was a lot higher when I went in person then when I reserved it online. It was not explained to me that I would only have 30 miles which is not enough if I'm driving to another state.

The absolute worst experience I have ever had: I called on the phone the day prior to make sure the rental I had booked over a week out was confirmed since no one from the location spoke to me. I was told by both the main customer service line and subsequent scheduling customer support that my order would be available for my 7 am pickup since I did the mobile pickup. I asked to confirm with the team if my PA will need ANYTHING for this pickup specifically, around the payment. I was informed that since this was a mobile pickup as long as my account had the payment info everything should be fine and the PA would not need a physical card to make payment. I then received a call 10 minutes later from the location to confirm my 7 am pickup Day of: the location refused to give my PA the keys for the pickup (their name was on the reservation and app was fully filled out) until 8:15 because they did not want to handle the order and the other attendant onsite arrives then to handle. I was informed and then called customer service (who was very lovely!) and she attempted to help resolve the problem. I was informed that the way the location was set up with the cashier holding possession of the keys instead of the required lock box pickup at the 24/7 locations was incorrect and would not allow for me to properly pick up my truck. My PA was then forced to have to wait until the new attendant arrived at 8:15 At 8:15 I then received a call from my PA that the cashier refused to take the card on file or over the phone and told me I need to call Uhaul myself and she would not do anything until she received a call from Uhaul directly to process. So I then called the (718) 522 4924 number to get a representative. The woman on the phone then told me I now needed to have a physical card in hand to make payment. When I asked why this was now different information than what I was originally told she did not have an answer and told me the PA needs the card in person. It took me having to ask for a manager for the woman to finally put me on hold and then less than a minute later suddenly took the credit card information over the phone. As though she just changed her mind and policy immediately.... This has been the utmost unprofessional experience I have ever dealt with in my entire production history. I have such a bad taste in my mouth from this I am ensuring the entirety of Milk Studios and our sister Agencies no longer use this service if this is how customers are treated. Absolutely appalled and disgusted.

The truck I had reserved well in advance of my move was not at the service station when I arrived to pick it up. U-Haul had allowed the previous user to extend their reservation on it, despite my already-existing reservation. The staff at the service station was very uncaring and unhelpful—as if I was the one in the wrong. After I had to call U-Haul myself, the service station provided us with a smaller truck than what we reserved/really needed.

The truck we received was not cleaned at all. There was garbage in the passenger cabin and the floor of the truck was extremely dusty/dirty. Fortunately, we had a broom with us and we were able to sweep the truck so that our stuff didn't get filthy. Staff was very rude and was reluctant to answer any questions. They also mischarged me for the furniture pads and the dolly I rented (said I ordered 12 pads and 2 dollys when it was 6 pads and 1 dolly.) No one picked up when I called and no one emailed me back when I received my receipt via email.

I used the website to pick up the truck, since I needed it after 6:00 p.m., and the website didn't work as it was supposed to. There was also some miscommunication with the station attendant. My phone screen said "show this to a station attendant so you can obtain your key," but the attendant said that in order to obtain my key I'd have to click the "I have obtained the key" button. Whenever I clicked that button, I'd get an error page. I called my UHaul contact, Donald, who was very helpful, but there seemed to be some miscommunication between him, the station owner, and the station attendant. It'd be great if y'all fixed that bug in the website so that doesn't have to happen again.

For starters the processes of picking up the vehicle using the app takes way too long! Then when I finally got the key code, there was no key in the box. When I called customer service to address the problem it took almost 1hr to resolve the issue. I was referred to a facility which was further away which factors into my mileage driven. By the time the matter was resolve all my plans for moving yesterday were ruined. This was a very poor showing of customer service by U-Haul and the location.

They lied to me about my drop-off location. I asked if they needed to know where I wanted to drop the truck off, as I know there is a u-haul rental location down the road from my destination. They said they would just set it so that I could drop it off anywhere I wanted whenever I want. After I left the location, I got a text from U-Haul that stated the actual drop-off location...not where I wanted to go. So they told me I could drop it off anywhere, then after I left they just picked a location for me which happened to be a further drive and put me over the total mileage allowed and used extra gas. Not happy about that.

Main Uhau office said I had a reservation, but location said I did not. Waited a while and finally got a truck but not the size I reserved. When we got to the truck with the agent there was a homeless guy smoking crack in it, I kid you not. The truck stank like chemical smoke (which is what I assume crack smells like) and the back was filthy. It ruined the upholstery on a piece of furniture. This location should be shut down.

Was confronted very aggressively by the man working the window. He made it very clear that his job wasn’t to help me in any way. He even proceeded to come outside to argue and yell...... I was forced to call the owner of the building in order to get the key to the truck that I had already paid and signed an agreement for. The man never apologized for his outburst....... not only that, but when I entered the truck it smelled heavily of marijuana. I had to crack the window my entire 8 hour drive because of how strong the smell of marijuana was. I will NEVER use this location again. And probably will never use U-HAUL again.

Using the U-Haul self-pickup app was a nightmare and I had to wait an hour and a half for the location to open to actually get a truck. The location opened 10 minutes late but the people were friendly and professional.
