Uhaul charged me $11 for gas based upon gas level. I drove the truck 4 miles put in a gallon before return, gave receipt to store yet I was charged 11 bucks. I have filed a complaint to FTC, the store manager told me his boss would credit, I have not received yet. I am contemplating filing a police report for theft.Tony D.
When I rented it was through Sebago Lake Auto or so I thought. Went there at 10 AM and no truck. They made a phone call to Aubuchon Hdwre down the road a short way and the truck was there. Not a big deal but a bit unsettling though. Went to Aubuchon, picked up the truck, it reeked of cigarette smoke. Neither my wife nor I smoke. Overall not the best U-Haul experience but it got the job done and I won't hesitate to use U-Haul again.Donald G.

I booked online. I booked a truck, appliance dolly, and blankets. At no point was I informed that this location only had trucks. The closest uhaul that had those things was 30 min away. It made the rest of my move very difficult. In the future, I would just go to the uhaul place that had all the moving materials.Jaime B.

A bit disappointed that they didn't have a hand truck available, but the check in and check out process was incredibly smooth and the young guys I worked with were very helpful. I would absolutely rent from this location again. I've typically used corporate locations in the past, so I was a little skeptical. No need for skepticism, these guys were fantastic.Eric J.

The truck oil light came on, the truck overheated and lost power. I was stranded on I-95 for 3 hours before a state trooper came to help me. The officer went and bought oil for me and then returned, I put 18$ worth of motor oil in the uhaul truck, started it up and drove home.. die to my lost time while broke down, I didn't get my girlfriend moved, so had to take Monday off to make another trip.. so I lost 18$ in motor oil, a days pay of 300$ and the place I rented from still charged me full price, didn't Reimburse me for the cost of the oil or for my time lost. I'm quite pleased I would never recommend using them againSamantha C.

This does not have to do with the specific rental location but has to do with the fees that were not mentioned when picking up the UHAUL. I was charged an after-hours fee of 20.00 which was not mentioned. They had asked that I had it in before the next morning. Also, I had done all the check-in information online so to decrease time getting the Uhaul but ended up going through the entire process inside which took an additional 1/2 hour.Elisabeth P.

I was charged an extra $58 the day after I dropped off the truck. Not sure why. I filled the tank with gas and dropped off an hour earlier than scheduled. I tried to check the truck in for after hours drop off and there was no way to do that on the app.Jonathan R.

This location was incredible.- staff is great. I will tell you that you should rethink your processes when you actually book reservations. I made a reservation with uhaul over two weeks prior for the Windham Maine location. Two days before pick up ( and the weekend I was moving) uhaul in portland called and said I had to pick up at another location - which would have been 10 Mike's each way ( another $20 each way on top of my fees) not too mention it would have taken us 1.5 hours round trip to pick up and return. The customer service agent tried to help but just kept saying this is how we do reservations. If we weren't moving that weekend I would have cancelled. Bad policy all the way around. Ultimately we called the next morning and shifted our reservation and was able to rent from our local site.Julie A.
Drop-off process worked fine, but I thought it was unfair to be charged for extra mileage when I didn't choose to drive extra and returned the truck 2 days early. I was supposed to pickup in Newport and dropoff in Windham, which was within the mileage I paid for. The Newport truck wasn't available that day and driving to Bangor is what added the extra miles. I only needed the truck for one day so needing to book for several as a minimum was pricey.Alexandria H.

The men working there were unorganized, not ready for me and â€œlostâ€ the key to the truck while I stood there 9 months pregnant for well over 40 minutes while they searched for the key to the uhaul that was in front of them. The location was great. I ended up there because UHAULS RESERVATION SYSTEM DOESNT WIRK AT ALL!!!! This is my fifth attempt to rent from the local haul location. I got a confirmation number, I got an email saying when and where... I get there and poof...no equipment available or reservation found. It's a horrible system.Marjorie F.

The size truck I wanted was not available. Sounded like they were all in the northern part of the state. You need to figure out how to get them to the southern part. Also I cut my leg on the plate holding the trailer hitch. Perhaps the plates need to be filed down. I also asked for a revised bill. It was supposed to be fixed by the regional manager and I have not seen it yet. With all this being said, the staff at the Windham Aubuchon were very helpful but their hands were tied because of the lack of truck availability and the regional manager not emailing me a revised bill in a timely manner.Janet V.

My daughter returned the truck with her 76 year old Dad, who drove it up from CT. He doesn't have a smart phone so I was concerned about the drop-off process for them. CRAIG was so amazingly helpful to them both. I'm so glad this location was still open(with 10 minutes to spare) when they got there and that CRAIG helped them through it. Thank you Craig!!JOHN D.

The return was a nightmare. The UHaul app didn't allow neither me or my husbands phone to upload the photo of the odometer. By the time we talked with a customer service Person it was beyond the drop off time. Even though our photos show the time (within the agreement drop off time) UHaul is ignoring my request to remove the extra day charge Of $40-David W.
Trying to navigate Your automated system for pick up and drop off was one of the worst, frustrating and stressful experiences I have ever had. Your chat and phone support was useless and the phone support disconnected us purposely and made us have to call again which put us in a que that took so long our reservation expired. When trying to pay that also went down and we had to input our card over and over until it finally went through. You need to redesign your Automated pick up and drop off system completely. We will at this point never rent another u haul and will not recommend u haul to anyone we know.Michael R.
