I had read UHaul's instructions on becoming familiar with the vehicle's equipment. It wasn't until I was about to return the truck that I realized I didn't know anything about how to fill the gas tank. Would be helpful to instruct customer to become familiar with which side of vehicle should face gas pump and whether anything other than unscrewing tank cap will be required. Thank you!Pamela N.

I had reserved by Uhaul for the early morning pick up... was at the business at my scheduled time but could not pick up the truck because it had not been checked in from the previous customer the day before. We waited an hour and a half for the store to open before being able to talk to anyone about this issue..we called the number posted to call prior to the store opening but no answer. Once we met with the lady working, she was very nice and accommodating, however I had scheduled the early morning pick up for a reason which did not end up working out as scheduled since we had to wait for the store to open up anyways before we could take the truck.ROBERT F.

I really am not the person to write a bad review however when service is less than promised or delivered it is my duty to warn others when renting at Baker Fairview Self Storage LLC. We rented an 8' truck online. On the site I was able to make a reservation for a 24/7 mobile rental. The truck was supposed to be available after hours at 7pm. Well I arrived that tuesday my truck was not there for pick up. That tuesday night, I called and spoke with the assistant manager she informed me that there was a mistake and that trucks can only be rented in person during business hours and that someone was supposed to call earlier that day to inform me . I never recieved that phone call. No where on the website when making my reservation did it say vehicle must be rented during business hours. I was able to rent all the way through with an online check-in. The Assistant manager did her best in finding a solution however it was after hours and the next available location had already closed. This was a huge inconvenience knowing that we were short on time on moving. So I updated my reservation for the next day. We now were one day behind. However, I wanted to give Baker Self LLC a chance to fix a wrong. Hoping this would be resolved during or at the of our rental. No response. They just believe in thier bottom line. I paid full price for 2 days of rental. My wife and I still needed to move a few more items we decided to use a different Uhaul location. Huntington Beach Uhaul has been a great experience and service thank you. Once again all really wanted was some form of acknowledgement from Baker Fairview management to fix a wrong. The guy who was helping everyone was very kind and professional. We just had so many issues with the booking process and it was disappointing overall. Also we requested a moving dolly and there were not any available at this location even though we had reserved one. Another disappointment and added stressor to our moving day.William B.

I returned the van ten minutes before close, however, the employee on duty was in a back room and had already locked the doors to the facility. I knocked on the doors repeatedly and waited for ten minutes. When she finally came out she acted very put out and annoyed that I was trying to return the vehicle, but begrudgingly took the key and told me I was â€œfineâ€. I received my receipt the next morning only to find a $20 after hours return fee tacked on to my bill. Quite the annoying experience.Christopher N.
My location was changed and I was notified, but, I was not notified that my reservation time had been moved back an hour and a half. I had to spend 30min on the phone trying to get my reservation moved back to its original time, which setback the entire day of moving.Ivy G.

Truck was dirty, soda bottles behind seats. Did not touch or remove. How can you rent a truck during COVID and provide no sanitation? Plus the outside was clearly not washed recently. We returned exactly how we received, we drove one-way 480 miles and did not touch anything inside! To make matters worse, we had to pickup the moving blankets and hand truck at a different location, now we have to drop off at a different location then the truck when we arrived at our final location.CHRIS B.
I was referred to this location because the location I selected did not have the truck I reserved. Location opened later so that delayed my desired pick up and thus delayed my departure time. Equipment I requested was not available and not communicated from the original rental location.ALEC L.

I had to travel 15 miles out of my way instead of being able to pick up the truck at the Uhual that was a mile from me and where I walked in to make a reservation 30 days ahead of time!!!! Very poor experience!gilbert M.

Terrible service I was overcharged, they lied and said I did not return equipment when I handed the keys to a representative upon return and the keep trying to charge me more money when I already paid. Not to mention they did not honor my credit seeing that they sent me off without the keys to the lock for the on the truck storage which resulted in time lost plus miles added onto my trip. When I reserved the truck, I was told to bring in proof of my auto insurance. When I picked it up, I was told that my proof was not necessary. Then I received the final invoice charging me for insurance! I am now having to go through a big riggamarole to have the charge removed! This has become a time-consuming hassle to say the least! For this reason, I am giving an average rating due to poor customer service.Patricia C.
I only used the truck for 3/6 of the hours that I reserved it for, and there was no deduction of cost. There were also used face masks and cans of soda underneath the seats-which is odd since you are asked for photos of the cab upon return. This wasn't caught or paid attention to by the office. There were also blankets/pads all over the back of the truck-which I had to put gloves on to remove. In times of Covid, you'd think the cleanliness would be more important to a business. I orginally booked a my 15ft rental at your 126 commercial way. Costa Mesa. The place looked like a junk yard, door locked, and when the owner came to open the door was rude and a had a bad attitude from the beginning. After trying to find my reservation and to upload a copy of DL. He just said "I am closed and your reservation is canceled. I came down from sacramento to move my mother and made arrangements for paid helpers to be there. I was left with walking out to make another reservation at another location which took another 2 Hours before i could to my moving location. This UHaul location is a disgrace to the UHaul reputation of which i have had excellent C/S.Fred B.

They fraudulently charged me for gas. Said that 3/8 of a tank remained when well over half a tank remained. I had a photo of the tank and mileage at return and got a refund. But took multiple phone calls to get refund.Andrew H.

They charged us for 4 gallons of fuel, even though we only went 21 miles. And I put in 4 gallons of fuel, and I had the receipt to prove it. the owner / manager was out to lunch when we returned it and drop the key off to the key deposit. I was always skeptical of doing that but we had no choice. I took a picture of the odometer because I had a feeling something like this may happen. Unfortunately the fuel gauge did not show up because I did not have a key on at the time. Do not use this facility if you can avoid it. Very very very very shady.cristy G.

Disappointed when I arrived at the location I set up for to then be told I was actually suppose to go to a different location. I never received a call or email regarding the change. Was told I could get the truck and moving supplies at the Fairview location. I proceeded there to then be told the moving supplies I rented were not available at that location and I could return to the original location I went to. When trying to move and you have things planned out this created a great deal of frustration as I was told the supplies would be available where I pick up the truck. The man was sorry and gave me a $20 discount which was appreciated however all the back and forth and not being provided with the correct information I was disappointed to say the least.KRISTIN R.

The guy who was at the front desk was very nice and kind. I rocked the rental truck even though I left key inside. Fortunately my moving place was next to the u hall's office, I could go there by running. Also I'm an international so I'm not good at speaking in English well so he helped me to figure out how to come over that situation. I wished they had spare key but it was my big mistake so it's fine. After I used that track, I went to the gas stand and when I tried to fill up that truck with gas, all of gas leaked even I don't understand. It's was scary experience for me. I called to U hall but they don't give me any answer so it was pretty disappointed Point. However, it was very convenient so I liked it and appreciate really.Ami Y.
Uhaul rented me a truck in Costa Mesa (bad condition) I drove 17miles away to pic up a new couch and table with chairs. When I got there I went to open the back door to find uhaul had a lock on it. And I was not able to open it.. I called several times and so did uhaul employees to there road side service no one could get ahold of them.. hours later Their Solution to the problem was I drive all the way back to Anaheim rent another truck And in 5 to 7 business days they'd put the money back in my Account for the 1st truck! ????. So another words I had to pay all the miles back-and-forth all the gas and all the time. And not be able to use the truck for all that I needed to use it for. that was Saturday The day before Easter which completely ruined our Easter because we could not do any of the things that usually do the day before like shopping and cooking.. Today is Monday and someone named George in management was supposed to call me today about my experience and refunds of some sort but that never !!Happened . Due to all this I will never be renting from Uhaul again And if they don't respond by tomorrow I will be posting badd reviews for uhaul on YELP!Sandee P.
