The manager at the Uhaul storage at Hammond location was incredibly rude both on the phone and in-person. I never met the owner of Berrys best buildings as they didn’t open until after I left. But my Dolly equipment and furniture pads were not placed in my truck so that made the move much more difficult. The Hammond location manager basically told me I’m out of luck and she couldn’t give me any of the equipment I had paid for and refused to take it off my bill. Told me I had to call the 800 number and that’s all she could do. I was given a 7am pickup time at a location that doesn’t open until 9am and that was not told to me during the confirmation call the day before.. I tried to call the Uhual shop in Hammond the morning of my pickup once the issue was discovered and she just kept telling me she couldn’t help and to call the 800 number and even hung up on me twice. So I got there at 7am but couldn’t leave until 8:30am because of being left to call the 800 number and having to figure out how to get my truck with no one present at the pickup location to give it to me. I will never recommend the Hammond uhual store location after that. Berrys best buildings was fine, but they shouldn’t schedule pickups at the location if it’s not open..

Wayne MI had an issue. The car dolly I received did not have the proper hook up for the lights. I had to go buy wiring harness adapters for the trailer. So I had to come out of pocket $75 do make the equipment functional. I showed this to the representative at the drop off location so no one else was forced to spend additional money to make the equipment functional. Please make sure equipment is functional and in proper working order before people pick up. If I wasn’t in a time crunch and moving from LA to WA I would’ve asked for fully functioning equipment.

Then said he doesn’t know what I’m talking about. Don’t go to this location if you live in the area !!! You will be robbed and told lies.

I was unable to get my cash deposit and have to wait 3 weeks or more for a check from the corporate office. I feel like this company takes advantage of seniors and I will advise everyone I know not to use UHaul to rent equipment.

JUSTIN SThis is not for the location, this is regarding Uhaul customer service. Since the initial reservation, uhaul customer service 1. Never advised me of the hold that was placed on my card 2. Pricing was not honored when I received phone call that the 10ft I had reserved was not available and would receive 15ft at same price. I had to call back in after receiving final invoice. All but last rep were unhelpful.
Stacy SPonchatoula location it the worst location ever. When I first got the truck it sounded like it didn't want to start up. Then when I got to my storage unit and loaded up all my things into the truck it wouldn't turn over. I called the ponchatoula location back and was told to call 1800gouhaul, for roadside assistance. I called them and waited 2 hours and no one ever showed up.
