I called for a $19.95 same day rental as I only had to move a hospital bed less than 10 miles. What I got and the mileage I was charged was astronomical! The truck was very old, not kept in good repair, not efficient, the mirrors could not be adjusted, the passenger door would only stay closed if it was locked and it was so loud I had to yell to my husband to hear me. The paperwork should have been mostly completed when I arrived - not so The poor man tried to complete the form three times and ended up calling someone named Joseph (at U Haul) twice. Took approximately an hour +. My emailed receipt from the Company says the reservation was cancelled and I paid $0.00. I actually paid $82.96! This is neither acceptable nor up to the experiences I have had at U Haul in the past. The young man at the site did his best to accommodate us, but when you are dealing with unacceptable materials it is unfortunate. I had to have the bed that day as my 91 year old father was coming from the hospital to my home that evening and I needed a place for him. The truck was extremely dirty. Mud all over the floor, candy stuck in the cup holder. The dash was very sticky. The cargo area was filthy, I had to sweep it out before I could put any of my stuff in it. I also swept it out after I removed my stuff, and it was still cleaner then when I first opened the doors. I am very upset about the after hours fee I was charged. I was not informed of that fee, I was told there was a 24 hour drop box, also i returned the truck 2 days early. The cleaning fee I do not deserve to pay, I cleaned that truck more then the pick up location. Bidwell auto should be responsibledella P.
Clean the interior and the bed before loaning out uhauls. It ran well was mechanically upkept but wasn't as clean as it should of been due to the location pick up being so muddy and the shop was rickity and old .Alicia T.

This was not the place that we reserved the trailer to pick up we had to go out of our way to go get this trailer. We reserved it plenty to f time in advance that is should have been where we reserved it. I feel that if they did not have it the owner should have went and got so we did not have to waste our time and gas and I feel that we should be compensated for our inconvenience also tongue jacks on these trailer would be nice as well as a different ball hook up every time we stopped we had to tighten the grip on the ball I would like to be contacted about me further dissatisfaction as soon as possible from someone at the corporate officejean I.

It would help if Uhaul switchboard knew where the location was. When we called the toll free number for directions we were sent to a private residence 6 miles away from Bidwell Auto. The location was fine, there was a spot ready for the truck and even though it was Memorial Day, someone came out and took the key from me. Nice folks.Ed W.
Knowing where the location is would be helpful. The CSR at the other end of the toll free number sent us to a private driveway over 5 miles from the actual location, which we found by asking at a gas station. Both locations were fine, Uhaul corporate failed miserably on this one.Ed W.

The good thing that I like about this sight was that you could drop off after hours. That being said, dropping off there I did not get an answer back from staff re: my dropped trailer after leaving messages for three days. The sight location also reminded me of a scene out of a Saw or Wrong turn movie. I live in this area and know it is poor, however you would expect businesses to keep their storefront looking clean and respectableTerry C.

The location of this facility is not the easiest to pull in and pick up trailer. Also,the facility isn't even clean to have a business for your UHaul business, because if just a whole in the wall garage, that isn't even organized for anything, and also being a junk yard and auto dealer, the individual that helped us, wasn't even experience in checking us out fast ans easy, since I have paid it in full before I picked up the trailer, he had the most problem time signing on to the computer and navigating through the steps to rent your equipment. The good thing is, there where very willing to meet with us on Christmas Eve to obtain the equipment.mark A.

The frustration we experienced in our pickup was NOT in any way related to Bidwell Auto. The issue we were frustrated with was due to UHaul pricedures. Original pickup planned for Olean, NY, was changed to Port Allegheny--45 minutes away. We could not reach Bidwell contact number to confirm, and the location was not open when we arrived--the owner was out of town and did not expect us. Fortunately, the home next to the facility was occupied by the owner's daughter. She was amazing at opening the facility and taking care of getting us into a rental truck and deserves an outstanding rating! The change to our pickup location with absolutely no verification on the part of Uhaul cost us at least a 3 hour delay in our anticipated departure time, not to mention the anxiety experienced when we arrived at a closed facility. Thank heaven for whatever reason the daughter was home and able to accommodate us.Sherry S.
I reserved my truck in Olean, NY. When I arrived at the location, they sent me down the street to their other location. When I arrived, they told me I had to go over state lines into Pennsylvania 40 minutes away. Online, it was $224 and when I got there the price was $320! When I tried to pay cash and the rest on my car, he told me he couldn't do it. I was charged for going 10 miles over, however, I wouldn't have gone over the miles if I hadn't had to drive all the way out 40 minutes to Pennsylvania! Unfortunately, I was forced to rent the Uhaul for 2 days instead of 1 because they had me returning the Uhaul at 9 am the following day and my move out time was 10 am. (They requested that I return the Uhaul an hour BEFORE I needed it!) No fault of Bidwell's--only Uhaul itself. The woman on the phone wasn't very nice about it, either, unfortunately!CHARMAINE B.
Bidwell Auto looks like a condemned building in a junk yard. The pick up location I requested was a solid 20 minutes from there (inconvenient to have to pick up from other than where you need the truck) and the truck I was promised was NOT available. I was given a truck and trailer to avoid having to drive 40 (more) minutes each way to get the correct truck. An enclosed trailer with NO TONGUE JACK (so how do you load that and remove it from the truck so you can load the truck?). A very inconvenient experience - not Bidwell's fault. At the moment I turned the key in the ignition, a message came up to change the engine oil. I'm not sure why a dollar per mile is charged, because it's clearly not going toward maintaining the equipment. In addition, I had to drive 30 miles out of my way to pick up a truck, rather than have u-haul provide me a truck at the location I specified.Matthew D.

Dirty. Guy would not inspect the truck for damage. The wheel well was half ripped off and sticking out the side of the truck the inside of the cab was muddy and full of animal hair. The trucks stearing was majorly off and the tires were bald. It snowed and we had to drive 20mph because the truck was all over the place. Very very unsatisfied with uhaulAmanda B.

The original location at Lewis Run would have been closer to my destination. I had to pay additional monies because I went over mileage from this location was further for us to travel. If origanal location would have only been 6 miles instead of 43 miles. This to me is unexceptable not to mention I had over the gas that I needed to have at drop off.Arlene B.

The rental location is basically a junk yard and you have to wade through a mud filled field to get to the equipment. The inside of the building isn't much better. I was overcharged by a day because they weren't open on the day I needed the pick up. Instead of trying to fix it the guy just said I would have to call and fight it out with uhaul not him.Adam F.
Maintain your trucks better..I drove over 190 miles the truck rode horrible I could not go over 55 miles an hr.the truck had bald tires a huge crack in the windshield it got stuck in the snow and I had to pay 100.00 out of pocket to be towed out..After along horrible usafe ride when I got to my storage unit after emptying the truck the truck was stone dead I than at 11:30 pm had to find a ride home the next day your road service came out got it started and had me follow him back to his location..He was very kind and very helpful the only positive thing I can say about U-Haul..I really feel that I was in danger driving this truck and I feel I should be reimbursted for the rental of this truck..At this point I will not recommend U-Haul to anyone or will I use them again...Sandra H.
