Inside of truck was dirty and it needed an oil change. But everyone was nice and made it easy to pick up and drop off.

We dropping off after their normal hours. Where they wanted it parked I was glad I was raised on a farm to be able to get it into this tight spot. Otherwise the trailer was fine and in above average condition.

It wouldn't accept my debit card that's backed by Mastercard because it's from an online bank and not a local bank. Frustrating because I've never had any issues with this card and have used it to rent a uhaul before in other cities. There's no reason it shouldn't have worked and if it weren't for my friend letting me use their debit card, I wouldn't have been able to rent it. Seems like an outdated problem to have in today's technologically advanced society. Update your credit card machine.

While I had zero problems with Cane's--in fact, they went above and beyond, calling after my reservation was cancelled and offering to stay past their closing time to make sure I was able to pick up the truck--the online check in experience was a complete failure. Despite being told I was pre-checked in for the truck, there was no way to complete basic steps, like uploading a picture of my driver's license or a headshot, before I was physically in the lot. Plus there was something called a Shape Test that had no instructions--it was just 4 rectangles, each with 3 shapes in it. I never did figure out what I was supposed to do with the shapes. After waiting for some sort of instructions, I just tapped on the screen to make sure it hadn't frozen up. And apparently that was a reflex test and I failed it, so Uhaul was unable to complete my reservation and cancelled my truck. The chat assistant online was unable or unwilling to tell me why I was being denied the rental and my initial email to Uhaul through their website has yet to get a response. I had taken time off and had to coordinate rides to get the truck the first time. The next morning, I tweeted about how the online check-in was an utter failure and the @UhaulCares twitter handle responded immediately and gave me the phone number for a regional manager, who was able to re-reserve a truck for me at the same location. However, I had to wait until 4:30 in the evening to get it, so I lost a day off my planned move and had to scramble to find another ride. So this location was great--again, he didn't have to call and offer to stay late (after 5 pm) to make sure I was able to get my truck, but I really appreciated that he did (I was able to get there before closing time). And Patty, the regional coordinator I spoke with, was also incredibly helpful. Even @UhaulCares responded promptly and got me to the person who could actually help. But I cannot recommend the 24/7 online check-in to pick up a truck and contacting Uhaul through their website will not get you a prompt reply. I lost a day of work because of the system failures.
