Stop using the uhaul website for after hour returns because I was stuck on hold with uhaul for over an hour at 1 am because there was a technical difficulty where the odometer was set at the incorrect start mileage so when I reported the updated mileage, it said â€œthe odometer is lower than the beginning of the rental periodâ€ (or something like that). Further, I reserved a 15 foot truck and was told the day before moving that they had no 15 foot trucks available which defeated the purpose of a reservation so I was stuck needing to beg friends to let me use their vehicles to stuff their cars with the remaining items that wouldn't fit for a one way trip.Maia R.

I needed a 15' truck to carry 8' foot oil paintings 100 miles. For the past two years I've struggled to keep the paintings upright and secure inside trucks w wheel bases bases intruding into the space. When someone calls to reserve, they should be asked if theyre aware that there are now trucks with a smooth, unobstructed interior. It made the difference between a load that was easy to tie down and keep safe and one that was a nightmare like my earlier ones. These folks are helpful and kind. Just wish theyed asked me which truck suited my needs.Carol R.

The mileage and checking it with the contract was never discussed. On the page the only thing brought up was how much gas should be in it. I signed the â€œcontractâ€ not aware of that and when I got to the drop off location they said I went over by 30 miles. Which was not the case. The mileage was either not update or recorded properly. I ended up paying for the extra 30 miles because I felt I had no choice.Alexandria C.

The gentleman who was at the pickup location on the day I picked the truck up was very helpful and had everything organized and ready to go. The truck was clean and sanitized and he pointed out a few key features on the truck I rented. It was a smooth transaction and I would use this location again.Paul S.
1: allow return at the place originally scheduled 2: when that is not possible let the alternative place know about the return. I had to make calls to even have them accept the truck. In addition I was charged for an extra day because my return was not registered.BENTE H.

Alot happened, ended up charges 2 times, by 2 different Uhaul locations. It was a hot mess. But, through it all everyone remained proficient, professional and courteous. Corporate Uhaul computer systems is at fault, not the particular locations.ANDREA R.

I better explanation of charges. I put down deposit for reservation of a truck and picking up truck paid for the actual rental period of 24 hours. The clerk didn't answer my question about if deposit was being applied against the rental charge. Not sure they knew answer. I checked my credit card account later the reservation charge had been taken off. It was confusing at the time. My final bill also made it clear reservation charge was not applied to rental. Better explanation of Renata charges would help.Samuel T.

Do yourself a favor and check yourself in via online If you can get internet service there, or try and go during office hours. They charged me for fuel I didnt use. I made very sure the fuel was accurate upon return. I took a picture of the fuel gauge before I left just in case and I am disputing it.Sue C.

Software for self return sucked and I had to just drop keys on box and lock up truck I got my final bill I don't even have a break down of charges because of uhaul not explaining or telling me it was all paper less and I ran late for my other moving job annoyed since my customer I was moving I had to give them 100 off job due to running late since uhauls software for self return didn't work and had to speak to 3 reps and it took me an hour Next time I'll go with Penske or budget I told rep when I was returning uhaul the self service app works they said yes that was a lie Just need to find a company that won't make me run late I would like to talk to a the uhaul general manager about this please email or call my cell 617 302 1154 Thanks Jeff mullinsJEFF M.

My main complaint is I was told one price and then when I went to purchase the rental I was told I'm not there which was $400 more than it has a patent $700 was out rages but going from Westport mass to Maine I don't know how you are and justify this plus gasmike W.

Self-serve uhaul is such a hassle. I didn't like the fact they had to call friends/family to confirm my identity. That's such an invasion of privacy, mind you, I picked up my truck at 8am when most of my friends/family are still asleep.Taylor K.

The cab was full of dog hair and smelt of dog......my fiancÃ© has very bad allergic reactions to dogs....so instead of riding down to the Cape in the truck with me she had to follow in her car......very inconvenient!!!!Gary G.

Michael was very helpful and professional. The website didn't indicate there were no locks on the back of the truck. I would have liked to have known that so I could have bought a lock. Also, your trucks ABSOLUTELY need to have adjustable side mirrors. That was a big problem with my 10' rental. Michael and other people tried to help me adjust the mirrors and they didn't adjust. Though I had signed up for a particular return location, U-Haul changed my reservation to a different return location, that didn't include 24-hour drop off. This was a problem for me. When I called to fix this, I learned that neither location (both in Pocasset MA) could accept returns any way! I am glad that I was able to arrange for return to Coastal, which worked out well for me.Lane A.
