My appointment was at Noon and when I arrived the next business said she went to lunch and would be back in about 20 minutes. I had to wait. I thought I was getting a smaller truck but they gave me the 26 foot biggest truck.. the brakes on this truck squeaked and was unsafe. Also when I was there the lady said I could get free storage 1 month of a unit up to $189. I reserved a Unit that was $189 but when I arrived to my destination there was no Units any size available. The lady was nice just seemed as though she could care less other to get the job done. Now I know how the Uhaul rentals go & I have seen other complaints. My problem was that I wasn't available to rent a Uhaul until the last minute.Rosilie H.

This was the worst U-Haul experience I have ever had. The employee was nearly an hour late meeting me for my scheduled appointment. I called and confirmed earlier in the week about truck availability, location, and time of the appointment and it was confirmed. I had to stand outside in the cold waiting for her to arrive. The delay caused me to almost lose the movers I had scheduled for that afternoon because I didn't have my truck at the correct time. The employee was unapologetic. SHE WAS GONE ON A PERSONAL AFFAIR. She took her dog to the vet on my time. Completely unprofessional experience.Andrew P.

The only issue we had with the location was the visibility of the sign. It is in a busy merging intersection & a sign that hangs under the awning not much bigger than an open sign. Went pass it twice before we were certain that was it which was no easy task given the type of intersection it was on.Tracie B.

The woman at the desk was nice but it's in such a bad location to get the truck off the lot and back on it later. I tried to do the mobile return but it didn't behave how I expected. It never said it was confirmed. That's not a location problem. The truck had lots of food crumbs left in it from previous users. Hope no one had coronavirus. Because it definitely wasn't cleaned. The vehicle was parked away from the building/lot. I would have had to walk down the street and up the hill to locate it. Then it was parked in the weeds off to the side of the road. I had selected that I would obtain the vehicle electronically, but if I had tried to do this, I do not know how that would have worked, as the keys were inside. There was a dolly in the van that I did not order. I was told there was 3/4 of a tank of gas when there was 3/8s. I did call and report the gas level and she did change the contract to reflect that information.Cameo D.

I made the arrangements over the phone with a guy stating they did rent UHauls. The location was on Hwy 81 in Anderson right next to where we needed to be. We get there that morning and ride circles around the place he told us he was. I called and he said they didnt have them at that location anymore (2 days later) and I would have to go to Belton to get my truck!! I asked him for an address and he said I would have to call the 1800 number. I asked him for the number and he gave me 2 wrong numbers and then hung up on me!! I figured out the 800GoUhaul and got an address from the lady and she was nice. These trucks are parked in a very questionable area anyway, but we did get it and went on. the truck was clean and the girl assisting us at the River Street address was nice and helpful. We get to our move location and the back of the truck had a pad lock on it!! We called her back and asked if we had bolt cutters. of course, we didnt . I called the 1800 number again she never did come up with a solution but just kept saying we have to talk to my manager. Asked me several times if we were ok, which I appreciated. the neighbor came over with bolt cutters and cut the lock. On the return, we had to take the truck back to the area and walk back down the woodsy hill past vicious dogs about a quarter of a mile from the office. This is no joke, I couldnt make this stuff up! This was my experience with UHaul. I chose a new location from the one we used 9 short months ago because of the rudeness and lateness of the people and the truck smelled like weed (we needed the truck at 8 and she didnt get there until 8:30.. Next time, if there were a next time, I would opt for the late and rude people and the Cheech and Chong truck.. We had no clue this was as good as it gets renting a UHaul truck. So as far as the above questions, Yes, the truck was clean and smelled fine. The people at the location were fine it just wasn't the correct location! Just dont use the Hwy 81 location because it doesnt exist!Douglas A.

The employees at this location were absolutely the rudest I've ever seen. We received a 10 ft truck NOT a 15 ft like the contract States. There was no Dollie available although we were promised one. My husband was told he needed to unhook the tow Dollie that was attached to the truck we didn't get and he injured his back as a result of trying to unhook it. I am EXTREMELY UNHAPPY with this whole experience and at this time I don't plan to use uhaul for future moves. This has been so disappointing as I have used uhaul for all my previous moves.Jessica M.

While UHaul had confirmed the time and locatin of pickup, the agent was not thre when we arrived, had difficulty getting the paperwork onnline and then tried to double the agreed rental rate. I had to call the booking agent , Gina Rhoda whe thenn had to walk them through the contract writup. The truck was pile of crap. Power steering was jerky and noisy at slow speed, I tried to check power fluid level and the truck hood almost fell off when I tried to open it due to broken hinge. Could not check oil at fill up for same reason. Had 139,500 miles on it and needs to be retired. After I cranked up check and noticed power steering issue, I went to goo back inside and they had already locked doors and left. Place was a used car lot that sold junkers and rented trucks...very dumpy location.Richard S.

Well the front desk lady didn't know where the truck was parked so we went where she told us it was parked. Of course, no where to be found. She had to call her boss and ask, he told her it was elsewhere. I reserved a 17 foot truck to begin with online, but she told me it was 20 feet when it was not. When we got the truck, the interior smelled like old body funk mixed with cigarettes. The loading area was not swept out at all. The ramp was broken, but we told her about that when we returned it.Sheri R.

Horrible experience, the truck was in bad shape, exhaust was so bad in the cab that my son threw up and we both had major headaches. The cab was not clean, dirt all in the floorboards and the storage part had to be swept out by us before we put our things in it. The location we got the truck from did our paperwork incorrectly and did not give us all the paperwork they were supposed to. We found that out because they didn't have the Dolly with the truck and still charged us and sent us to another location to pick that up, which apparently is not protocol either. The dealer that did end up giving us a dolly to use was appalled by the condition of the truck itself and the fact that we didn't even have the paperwork that was supposed to be given to us. We were stuck with a truck that we didn't trust because of its condition, but because we had a deadline to meet could not do anything about it. I was afraid to let my son fall asleep because the fumes were so bad! I will be calling to pursue compensation of some form for this terrible experience. We used Uhaul in the past with no issue but never again!Michael P.
