The owner of the body shop was an asshole! When I got the truck it had a few pieces of trash, a thumb tack, and a stain from a drink. When i returned truck, he seemed okay until I noticed a $25 cleaning fee and when I questioned it, he became hostile and rude. I called to consoling and I'm still waiting a reply. When I looked on Yelp I noticed he has a history of dishonesty m. He's a piece of work and def don't see how he's able to rent anything, and even be able to con customers for his own financial gain. The owner was extremely rude and was not open to answer questions about the fees. I filled the gas tank and he said I was still going to be charge $11, then he got angry and began to raise his voice. He then said he was going to charge me a cleaning fee for the very small amount of paper on the floor of the Uhaul, when he never told me about sweeping it when I picked up the truck. He was visibly angry, raising his voice and was very unprofessional. I would not suggest this location to anyone and I think Uhaul, if you desire to maintain standards of customer care, should no longer allow this company to represent you.felicia B.

I received the truck and the truck bed was dirty which I didn't care but when I finished moving I swept it out and I see a $25 cleaning charge tracked in to my bill. What a scam. And I got charged for two days and I only used it for one. I arrived at the auto center by 5 pm but took someone forever to vine check me back in so they show I dropped it off at 5:19. Dimitri the guy in charge was extremely hostile and rude. I asked to see my receipt and he got very defensive and said â€œ check your emailâ€. Of course the start time was wrong, and we got there at 3:25 and didn't get our car promptly, and we got charged for 2 days. Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read my comments. My boyfriend and I received extremely poor service at this location. I didn't catch the employees name, however he treated us very rudely. So much so that I was shocked by his behavior. I understand that everybody is entitled to a bad day but this was beyond that. My boyfriend and I are both friendly and cheery people and I rarely take the time to file a complaint. Whenever we asked a question to the employee he brushed us off or told us he wasn't able to help us with that. I asked him if I could upgrade to the top tier insurance policy and he said I had to call the number. He wasn't able to help me. Our truck also came with a low amount of gas and when we asked him to explain what that meant he was very short with us. Overall, it was a horrible experience. I ended up calling customer service after to complain. I wish that our entire rental fee and was reimbursed as it was such a bad experience. Thank you for taking the time to read this.Tasha T.

I was told the day of that I would lose my pre-paid rental truck if I didn't arrive between 9:00-9:15 AM to fill out paperwork. When I arrived they just needed my ID. On the call confirmations and emails regarding the pick-up, there was no mention that I'd lose my reservation even though I was already charged for the rental. The representative at the pick-up location called me and was frustrated that I wasn't there at 9:00 AM, and told me that on weekends they have the right to give up my reservation. After I apologized and said I was 10 minutes away, they said "fine" and then called me a "jackass". When I arrived the truck was not packed with the blankets we asked for, the same person grabbed a stack and handed it to us in bunches. We didn't count but it looks like there weren't the full 24 blankets given, as we were short 10.MARCUS F.
Rep stopped me from using mobile pickup feature saying it would â€œmess up his computer.â€ I therefore did not have the opportunity to see the existing fuel level. He checked me in manually and told me to bring it back with the same fuel but issued no paperwork. I brought it back with the exact same fuel and was later charged $15 for fuel. At the time of drop off he said nothing about it. I emailed about the issue and got nowhere since I didn't have before and after photos available to send.John S.

When I picked the truck, the owner was rude and told me we only check for big things. I cleaned the truck before returning the car. When I returned the car, I would go through the app to return the car, the owner said no, he asked for the key. And tole me all set. I asked for receipt and he said the receipt has been sent to me and was rude. Later on I found out he charged the $25 cleaning fee. I used Uhaul before, this was the worst experience I had. The owner was rule. When I picked the car, he said we only look for big thing, he I returned the truck, he looked for tiny spot. What a joke..SANQING M.

The owner of this uhaul location is very rude and mean. I do not recommend renting from him. He called me 15 minutes before my reservation time to tell me the truck would be returned 3 hours late. I asked him to find me another truck and he eventually did (2 hours later). When I got there, he yelled at me for being late (!!). I told him it was the person before me who was late and he called me a b*tch and refused to rent the truck to me. I ended up going to the other nearby location on Obama Blvd which I highly recommend. Do not go to this guy in Culver City. I've rented from him many times and already knew he was mean, but it was convenient so I didn't care. However, this was insane. I almost lost a $10K sale (which required the truck to deliver) thanks to him. He seems to really enjoy yelling at you and holding your need for a truck over your head. AVOID.Sonja S.

To Uhaul, I was very disappointed with my experience. I rented a Uhaul for the purpose of moving my items to the new place. The movers that I booked through this site never called or showed up. I paid $88 for what? I brought the truck to my place for nothing.. I had to return the Uhaul and waste my whole morning. I still have my items to move. Do you know that people work hard for money? This isn't acceptable. Please provide me an explanation why I was able to book California Movers $205 with a confirmation number and nobody even called or showed up. I booked this thru your site. 75% of this review is for u-haul as a company and the rest for the location. Had issues with my reservation, u haul did not accurately reserve my uhaul as I requested a full day rental with alternative location drop off. They told me I could only take the uhaul for 4 hours and return to the same location. Location stated I had to call uhaul and figure out a solution initially. I had to wait over 30 minutes to get onto the phone with anyone from U-haul after being transferred twice, 3rd person was still unable to assist me. Then they wanted me to go pick up at ANOTHER locations 20 minutes away (mind you-uhaul is VERY stingy with the number of miles you can drive or they charge you for every single mile). Owner at pick up location was initially very rude then decided to assist us at the end after going back and forth between uhaul and him. At hte end he was nice but the initial 40 minutes at the location were a disaster. Highly disappointed in Uhaul for making an already stressful situation more stressful. The location could have also provided more information upfront instead of causing chaos to only assist with a solution at the end.JOHN C.
Ordered a van and was told it wasn't available and given a 10' truck instead, which has more costly mileage pricing. Was told that the truck was at half tank. When I got into the truck it was at 3/8. I took a picture and brought it back at 3/8. I was then charged for not bringing it back at half tank. When I showed him the photo, he said to take it up with the Santa Monica location and charged me anyway. Very upsetting.SHALANIE G.

Look, this place is close to my house so, yeah, I'll go there again. But the truck smelled like there was a hole in the radiator- a mixture of skunk, body Oder and meth. I couldn't drive with the windows up. I wanted to vomit all day after being in the can.Annie T.
This is NOT the location or manager of the facility's fault - AT ALL. But I specifically booked this 10' truck for a one way to Burbank online and wasn't updated about the limitation until I was at the check in window picking up the vehicle. In the future, Uhaul should make it very clear on their online reservations and customer support team whether or not that location and vehicle is able to go one way or must be returned. Again, not the location or manager's fault - this is an internal, website/customer service flaw and would not only help you as a company and brand out but help the poor manager that gets yelled at by people day in and day out about this issue. Please fix this. I would have given 5 stars for the polite gentleman that helped me but not for the Uhaul service.EMILY P.

I have never experienced more disrespect in my entire life. Moving is an incredibly stressful experience. I booked a uhaul days in advance over the phone, after completing my reservation, uhaul changed the pickup location. After changing the pickup location they attempted to change the day/time of pickup which I couldn't accommodate. I then called uhaul to add my fiance as the pickup driver for the uhaul -- they took his name and phone number, and in my initial reservation they took down all of my personal information and the information regarding my trip. My fiance arrived at this pickup location, the man told him he wouldn't give him "the f*cking truck" and was incredibly aggressive. He screamed at my fiance who was very calm and I was on the phone incredibly stressed trying to understand how this man was threatening to give the uhaul to someone else because I wasn't physically there. Then he proceeded to say that there was no information on my reservation, he added another $100 to the cost of the trip, despite me having a digital copy of my reservation that my fiance showed to him. He screamed, he was disrespectful, he cursed, and it took my fiance 40 minutes to get the truck from him. I had to call uhaul's customer service line, who confirmed with me that my fiance's name was on the reservation, and that the original price I was quoted was correct. He also informed me that he couldn't directly call this location to sort out the problem. After finally getting the uhaul, we received another call to then change the drop off location. If someone prefaced that our pickup/drop-off locations would be changed multiple times, I wouldn't be writing this review. If we weren't cursed at, and if this incident didn't impact every single part of our schedule (hired movers, friends to help, departure and arrival time to destination) I would have moved on, but it's important that companies streamline efficiencies, communicate with their customers and treat them with some sort of decency. I don't know what kind of business uhaul/this location is running. Moving is incredibly stressful and when you're paying a premium on a rental, you should be atleast treated with civility. I know everyone has an "off" day, and sometimes businesses are overworked, however, the treatment we received was inexcusable and the level of disorganization is not something you'd expect from such a long standing company. This was my first uhaul experience and unfortunately if not remedied, will be my last.ANDREW S.

When I return the truck the clerk was really rude he tried to tell me I didn't put no gas in the truck then he tried to tell me I didn't put enough gas in the truck when I left he told me I needed to put it at a quarter of a tank I went to the gas station on my way back I filled it to a quarter of a tank brought it back and he was really rude and telling me I didn't put any gas in it. Believe the negative reviews about this place. The good news is the truck worked fine and did what I needed. The bad news is the guy who runs this location seems to make a regular practice of overcharging customers. When I dropped off the truck, he was all smiles and said everything was good to go. Well, I checked my digital receipt later, and he had charged me a $25 cleaning fee. I've rented a lot of trucks and vehicles...I know how they're expected to be returned, and I brought it back in the same condition as when I picked it up. When I called him to ask about the charge, he claimed the truck was dirty, then became defensive and agitated...I purposefully stayed calm because I didn't want things to escalate. When I tried to explain to him that I had cleaned out the truck before I returned it, he told me, "don't lie to yourself" and "other people don't want to be responsible for your dirt." By the way, this is a cargo truck used for hauling things...it's to be expected that he might have to run a push broom over the cargo bed to brush out some minor dust or debris after a return. Anyway, it was a brief, unproductive conservation in which he became ruder and more agitated, told me he didn't have time to explain things, and hung up. Thankfully, I called the main U-Haul number and got the extra charge corrected (after a 50-minute wait on hold). U-Haul should revoke this guy's franchise license. He's doing a disservice to the brand.JASON D.

Do not trust this company. A $14 safe coverage insurance was assessed but no such thing was discussed with me. The owner told me that the gas was below 3/4 tank and it was actually at 3/4 tank when it was returned, however he then fraudulently charged me for 2 gallons of gas which i did not use. For 2 hours and only 11 miles i was then charged $64!!!! Totally deceptive and misleading. He also didn't give me any paperwork when i left, just the keys, so i have no way of proving that he added these charges without discussing it with me first.RACHELLE N.

Dimitry Karma at this location gave me back $25 cash for cleaning fee because the track was returned clean , but he charged me the money without showing anything just dismissed my question and told me â€œ never come back here again!â€ ( so much for customer service) ,even when I insisted that the vehicle was clean he made me sign a piece of paper saying that he gave me $20 back and called me an â€œassholeâ€ for asking for full refund. Then said â€œ you better not write a reviewâ€ after all the insults and disrespect he still doesn't want to get reviewed! The owner of this uhaul was rude. He was adamant that I had to return the uhaul before 3pm and if I did not he would charge me through Monday. Additionally he told me I couldn't have an additional driver. He was extremely rude the entire time and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I returned the uhaul in an hour and he went through and spent 10 minutes inspecting the truck. I have never met someone so rude and I do think he was racially profiling me and the person with me who I wanted as an additional driver. Do not go here.Rebecca P.

Gas tank was not full when I took the truck, I was expected to bring back with a full tank, the terms were changed from 6 hours to 5 1/2 hrs only 15 minutes prior to pick up leaving me no time to make other arrangements, and the person in charge had no customer service experience, only threats if it wasn't returned on time. The guy obviously didn't check the truck before we picked it up. There were blankets just thrown all over in the back of the truck as well as a dolly that we didn't order and just took space up that we needed (This was partially my fault for not checking the box before we took it), it was dirty and not cleaned before, the cab smelled like urine, and the guy was rude to us when we dropped off the truck. Dimitry's customer service is like no other uhaul experience, in the most negative way. My second time going through his business and he charges me for using Safe Move, which I did not choose in my code rage option. He also charged me for gas, which I filled up to the beginning level.
