75% of this review is for u-haul as a company and the rest for the location. Had issues with my reservation, u haul did not accurately reserve my uhaul as I requested a full day rental with alternative location drop off. They told me I could only take the uhaul for 4 hours and return to the same location. Location stated I had to call uhaul and figure out a solution initially. I had to wait over 30 minutes to get onto the phone with anyone from U-haul after being transferred twice, 3rd person was still unable to assist me. Then they wanted me to go pick up at ANOTHER locations 20 minutes away (mind you-uhaul is VERY stingy with the number of miles you can drive or they charge you for every single mile). Owner at pick up location was initially very rude then decided to assist us at the end after going back and forth between uhaul and him. At hte end he was nice but the initial 40 minutes at the location were a disaster. Highly disappointed in Uhaul for making an already stressful situation more stressful. The location could have also provided more information upfront instead of causing chaos to only assist with a solution at the end.

Ordered a van and was told it wasn't available and given a 10' truck instead, which has more costly mileage pricing. Was told that the truck was at half tank. When I got into the truck it was at 3/8. I took a picture and brought it back at 3/8. I was then charged for not bringing it back at half tank. When I showed him the photo, he said to take it up with the Santa Monica location and charged me anyway. Very upsetting.

They do not like to communicate with you and then will charge you extra for no logical reasoner did not give me a recede and said all is good go then he charged me extra for cleaning and he told me a ten foot table would fit in this truck and it did not I had to go out of my way to buy some stap and rope to tie the table down and drive with the back gate open For that reason I was not able to drive on Freway and drow on streets spending almost half a day for 11/2 job

Look, this place is close to my house so, yeah, I'll go there again. But the truck smelled like there was a hole in the radiator- a mixture of skunk, body Oder and meth. I couldn't drive with the windows up. I wanted to vomit all day after being in the can.

This is NOT the location or manager of the facility's fault - AT ALL. But I specifically booked this 10' truck for a one way to Burbank online and wasn't updated about the limitation until I was at the check in window picking up the vehicle. In the future, Uhaul should make it very clear on their online reservations and customer support team whether or not that location and vehicle is able to go one way or must be returned. Again, not the location or manager's fault - this is an internal, website/customer service flaw and would not only help you as a company and brand out but help the poor manager that gets yelled at by people day in and day out about this issue. Please fix this. I would have given 5 stars for the polite gentleman that helped me but not for the Uhaul service.

The truck was pristine and excellent. The furniture padding was so filthy, it was full of dirt. We had no choice but to use it but it caused all our belongings touching it to become full of dirt.

I have never experienced more disrespect in my entire life. Moving is an incredibly stressful experience. I booked a uhaul days in advance over the phone, after completing my reservation, uhaul changed the pickup location. After changing the pickup location they attempted to change the day/time of pickup which I couldn't accommodate. I then called uhaul to add my fiance as the pickup driver for the uhaul -- they took his name and phone number, and in my initial reservation they took down all of my personal information and the information regarding my trip. My fiance arrived at this pickup location, the man told him he wouldn't give him "the f*cking truck" and was incredibly aggressive. He screamed at my fiance who was very calm and I was on the phone incredibly stressed trying to understand how this man was threatening to give the uhaul to someone else because I wasn't physically there. Then he proceeded to say that there was no information on my reservation, he added another $100 to the cost of the trip, despite me having a digital copy of my reservation that my fiance showed to him. He screamed, he was disrespectful, he cursed, and it took my fiance 40 minutes to get the truck from him. I had to call uhaul's customer service line, who confirmed with me that my fiance's name was on the reservation, and that the original price I was quoted was correct. He also informed me that he couldn't directly call this location to sort out the problem. After finally getting the uhaul, we received another call to then change the drop off location. If someone prefaced that our pickup/drop-off locations would be changed multiple times, I wouldn't be writing this review. If we weren't cursed at, and if this incident didn't impact every single part of our schedule (hired movers, friends to help, departure and arrival time to destination) I would have moved on, but it's important that companies streamline efficiencies, communicate with their customers and treat them with some sort of decency. I don't know what kind of business uhaul/this location is running. Moving is incredibly stressful and when you're paying a premium on a rental, you should be atleast treated with civility. I know everyone has an "off" day, and sometimes businesses are overworked, however, the treatment we received was inexcusable and the level of disorganization is not something you'd expect from such a long standing company. This was my first uhaul experience and unfortunately if not remedied, will be my last.

Completely awful experience. I will never use U-Haul again. They did not have the vehicle I reserved. They instead offered me a different vehicle for the same rate. When I dropped it off, I realized that I was paying over twice as much! They lied about the rate.

When I return the truck the clerk was really rude he tried to tell me I didn't put no gas in the truck then he tried to tell me I didn't put enough gas in the truck when I left he told me I needed to put it at a quarter of a tank I went to the gas station on my way back I filled it to a quarter of a tank brought it back and he was really rude and telling me I didn't put any gas in it. Lucky I had my receipt. Just an ass hole for real. I'll never rent from you again.

Believe the negative reviews about this place. The good news is the truck worked fine and did what I needed. The bad news is the guy who runs this location seems to make a regular practice of overcharging customers. When I dropped off the truck, he was all smiles and said everything was good to go. Well, I checked my digital receipt later, and he had charged me a $25 cleaning fee. I've rented a lot of trucks and vehicles...I know how they're expected to be returned, and I brought it back in the same condition as when I picked it up. When I called him to ask about the charge, he claimed the truck was dirty, then became defensive and agitated...I purposefully stayed calm because I didn't want things to escalate. When I tried to explain to him that I had cleaned out the truck before I returned it, he told me, "don't lie to yourself" and "other people don't want to be responsible for your dirt." By the way, this is a cargo truck used for hauling things...it's to be expected that he might have to run a push broom over the cargo bed to brush out some minor dust or debris after a return. Anyway, it was a brief, unproductive conservation in which he became ruder and more agitated, told me he didn't have time to explain things, and hung up. Thankfully, I called the main U-Haul number and got the extra charge corrected (after a 50-minute wait on hold). U-Haul should revoke this guy's franchise license. He's doing a disservice to the brand.

Do not trust this company. A $14 safe coverage insurance was assessed but no such thing was discussed with me. The owner told me that the gas was below 3/4 tank and it was actually at 3/4 tank when it was returned, however he then fraudulently charged me for 2 gallons of gas which i did not use. For 2 hours and only 11 miles i was then charged $64!!!! Totally deceptive and misleading. He also didn't give me any paperwork when i left, just the keys, so i have no way of proving that he added these charges without discussing it with me first.

Dimitry Karma at this location gave me back $25 cash for cleaning fee because the track was returned clean , but he charged me the money without showing anything just dismissed my question and told me “ never come back here again!” ( so much for customer service) ,even when I insisted that the vehicle was clean he made me sign a piece of paper saying that he gave me $20 back and called me an “asshole” for asking for full refund. Then said “ you better not write a review” after all the insults and disrespect he still doesn't want to get reviewed! It doesn't work like that, I'm a customer and I have the right to write a review! you can't treat people with disrespect and not explain anything without a proof then say “don't write a review. This was by far the worst experience renting a track and I will never recommend this location to anyone.

The owner of this uhaul was rude. He was adamant that I had to return the uhaul before 3pm and if I did not he would charge me through Monday. Additionally he told me I couldn't have an additional driver. He was extremely rude the entire time and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I returned the uhaul in an hour and he went through and spent 10 minutes inspecting the truck. I have never met someone so rude and I do think he was racially profiling me and the person with me who I wanted as an additional driver. Do not go here.

Gas tank was not full when I took the truck, I was expected to bring back with a full tank, the terms were changed from 6 hours to 5 1/2 hrs only 15 minutes prior to pick up leaving me no time to make other arrangements, and the person in charge had no customer service experience, only threats if it wasn't returned on time. I needed to rent another truck the next day due to the time restriction and I went with Budget.

The guy obviously didn't check the truck before we picked it up. There were blankets just thrown all over in the back of the truck as well as a dolly that we didn't order and just took space up that we needed (This was partially my fault for not checking the box before we took it), it was dirty and not cleaned before, the cab smelled like urine, and the guy was rude to us when we dropped off the truck. Will definitely go somewhere else next time to rent a truck

Dimitry's customer service is like no other uhaul experience, in the most negative way. My second time going through his business and he charges me for using Safe Move, which I did not choose in my code rage option. He also charged me for gas, which I filled up to the beginning level. When I contacted customer service they failed to respond and I got charged extra. Then when I dropped off the car I got told verbally there wouldn't be an extra charge, they didn't give me a receipt, and I got charged anyway

The order was not reviewed with me when I went to pick up the truck. My credit card and ID were scanned and then I was given keys. I picked the in person option to make sure everything was correct. Upon receiving the receipt, there was coverage that I did not add. I called to dispute that and an additional day that was added even though it was returned 2 hours earlier than scheduled. The person I spoke to on the phone wasn't very helpful or understanding. He just kept saying "You have to call U-haul." Once I spoke to U-haul, the customer service was great, but this authorized dealer isn't very helpful.

At first I was told they don't take u-haul equipment (was returning truck). Then they "decided" it was ok to let me drop off the truck. I offered to sweep the back of the otherwise clean truck. Was told by employee A I didn't need to. Employee B comes along and asks me if I can read the sign that the truck must be brought back swept. Aargh. These guys couldn't have been more disinterested.

I went to this location as a backup as I had initially made a last minute reservation at another location that was linked to a mailbox business. When I arrived, the 2 trucks they possessed were both rented out already (yet the system allowed me to reserve the truck). I booked this truck for a 2 hour limit to move ONE mattress from the store to my home and was not to drive more than 20 miles. I was told that the truck had “just under 3/4 of a tank yet when I drove off, it had just over the tick mark JUST above the 5/8 mark. I moved the bed, the total USED drive mileage was 18 miles and I did stop at a gas station to put exactly 2 gallons back in the truck. When I returned the truck 1 1/2 hours later, the man I rented from (assume he owns the repair shop) came out, inspected the truck, then told me that I owed $7 for gas. I told him that I put 2 gallons of gas in the truck and it was actually returned MORE full than when I drove off. He looked straight ahead at the truck gauges and said “have a nice weekend.” As this was a very odd behavior, I did not acknowledge what he was saying because I didn't know who he was talking to since he didn't even look at my face when he was saying this therefore, I just stood there. He said it AGAIN…”Have a nice weekend.” Was this the reply to me telling him I don't owe $7 for the gas? I said…are you talking to me? He replied Yes…have a nice weekend. My reply…where is my receipt? He said that I would receive it by email and went back into the repair shop. I walked back to my car and waited for the receipt to show up in my email …it NEVER came. I went BACK into the counter and asked for a paper receipt. He told me they don't have any and that I would receive an email. Again, it didn't appear in my mail so I demanded a paper receipt or verification of what I was charged. Interestingly enough, after refusing to leave without proof of what I was charged, the email appeared. As reviewing the charges, I noticed that HE OVERCHARGED me for the $7 gas that was not DUE to him as the truck was returned with MORE gas than I had taken it with! When I confronted him about this, he became irate likely because he tried to pull the wool over my eyes by NOT acknowledging me and trying to move me out of the property as fast as he could (without giving me a breakdown on charges). This man is lacking scruples and I would NEVER rent from him again. Buyer BEWARE!

It's not exactly ‘clean' in the trunk when we pick up the truck. There are also stuff left in the seat belong to others (mask). However, when we return it we were charged 25 dollar cleaning fee, which should take less than 10 seconds to sweep. Won't recommend this place.

The representative that helped me (Dimitry), was nice when I got there. What he lacked was going over the agreement, terms, and walking around vehicle. He spent 3 minutes cleaning it with a quick vacuum and wipe down (don't know if they even disinfected it due to Covid). He said just return it clean and gas where it was if I didn't want to get charged. So of course I did. I had the vehicle for 1 1/2 hours, and put 14 miles on it. My goal was to move 1 piece of furniture. During the drive, I began itching behind my right calf. It was like I was getting bit by a mosquito. But I thought that couldn't happen in a car. By the way, I am terribly allergic to mosquitos. It got worse and by the time I returned the van, I had a huge welt and rash. Something was under the driver's seat. I had reported this to corporate that the van be checked out. Moving on, upon return of the vehicle, Dimitry's attitude completely changed. He firmly said "You Have To Return The Vehicle Clean" I said I did. I had a pocket size dust that he pointed to on the driver's side (dust from stepping on ground to car) and about the same amount of dust on the van bed. He advised me that he didn't even have to be that courteous to even tell me (as if he was doing me a favor). I said he was being ridiculous and asked how much to clean it? He said $25.00. I said forget it, I'll do it myself. So I went to a local gas station, and cleaned it better than when I received the truck. Also note, in all my times renting UHaul's, this has never happened. He continued to be rude and condescending towards me. Despite the rash that I still have 3 days later from the vehicle, the van drive fine. I will NEVER go there again!!.

the car was very dirty on the windows, had tire issue and the costumer service was very bad as the person who rented was very rude to me due to my return. I did not even check the mileage when I sat in the car and I returned the car with more gas that I the time I picked it up. my worst experience was the person who was in charge and rented the truck to me , he even said you can rent from other locations next time because I brought the car back and I asked if the back of the truck is Clean or not , there was a few little broken plastic in there and I could have just took it out there but he made me get out with the car in the street and do it, also he never provided parking to me even when I rented the car for 3-4 hours only and I had to pay for my parking. he also said the front is dirty and I said show me, he had nothing to say after when I walked to see if it was dirty or not. he literally shouted at me when I said my dude the car is clean. and I was in shock when he raised his voice. and he said to me I am not nice when I said im a Nice guy and always rent from Uhal and never check because I trust the company. so overall if he works on his costumer service to his next client , it would be good for your company because your name is involved. I wont go back to that location again or refer to my friends around here even though its the most convenient to my location. but I had to take my time to write this for you and im glad I did for your information. thank you for reading my review. Do not rent here. I posted a negative review on Yelp. The owner, Demitry, was extremely rude and attempted to cancel my online reservation after charging me in person! I am a regular renter of Uhaul vehicles for business purposes and having an owner threaten my business they way Demetry did was way over the line of acceptability. UHAUL should revoke his contact. Just look at how poorly his uhaul business review are on yelp.

I would recommend this location for anything else EXCEPT a u-haul. I've never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. My original drop off location was closed on Sunday (which no one ever told me) so I had to keep the van until the next morning but they denied me FROM THE PLACE I SCHEDULED TO RETURN MY VAN TO, and suggested I go to a different place. Then, I called the “other” place and they said I had to call the 1-800 number in order to authorize the location changed and I was on hold for 20 minutes. Luckily I was finally able to turn in my van (that I didn't even im want bc I ORDERED a 10” truck) after 2 hours of back and forth BS. I will NEVER use u-haul EVER again.

The windshield was broken. So the truck should not have been rented but there was no other choice. The local manager tried to bill me for an additional days rental even though I turned it in before 24 hours. I had to waste my time calling the national number twice, to get it sorted out :-(

The employee that checked me out didn't tell me about any charges he was putting on when I returned it, and I ended up overpaying for what I thought by $50. I think that's unacceptable, I'm not sure what warranted the extra $50 but would like an explanation.
