James DTo U-Haul Customer Service, My experience with DeVoe’s Rainbow Orchard was poor at best. I was driving my own personal vehicle and had rented a U-Haul trailer; I did not rent or drive a U-Haul truck, and I did not switch drivers. After the rental, I contacted another U-Haul location to ask whether I could change the rental to a one-way specifically because I did not want to return to DeVoe’s. I was then told that DeVoe’s had placed notes on my account stating that I went to Speedway and switched drivers. This is completely inaccurate. I did stop at Speedway, but only to have my father check the tow connection. He never drove my vehicle or operated the trailer. I am extremely concerned that inaccurate information was placed in my customer record. The pickup experience itself was unnecessarily rude and confrontational. I had rented from U-Haul approximately two weeks earlier and did not have to go through the same process, so when I arrived at DeVoe’s, I reasonably expected a similar experience. Within minutes, an employee came outside and rudely told me I needed to go inside and check out the trailer, treating me as though I had done something wrong. I was then told Craig would assist me. He drove around the property, came over, rudely asked what I needed, and then returned to sit in his truck. I believe he may have been the person who reported my father as driving, which again is not true. I am a paying U-Haul customer and expect to be treated with basic professionalism and for my customer record to contain accurate information. I am requesting that U-Haul review and correct the inaccurate notes on my account, investigate the conduct of the employees involved, and provide an appropriate refund or credit for this unacceptable customer-service experience. I would not recommend DeVoe’s Rainbow Orchard as a U-Haul location based on this experience, and I would appreciate a written response regarding how U-Haul intends to resolve this matter.

Will VThe main issue is the hidden cost The price was less than 20 bucks and then I paid 75 for an hour! I would not use it again; I would use other resources. I keep feeling the pricing is misleading.

Denene HThe car was not clean enough especially the driver cabin. Steering was weird. The car goes like sliding when you steer. The u haul app was terrible. It was opening and closing in second. Also it was super slow.

Linda SI will never ever rent a uhaul from here again. They robbed me for gas/mileage and saying I used way more than I did. I have pictures of what the truck had in it gas wise when I turned it on and the miles before I drove it. I also took pictures of the gas level and the miles after when I parked it in there parking lot. Do not recommend using them ever for a uhaul. They did this to our friend as well we found out. I will never ever use them or recommend them to anyone.

GARY AI had to pay 2$ for an extra 2 miles but I overfilled the gas tank from where it was with today’s gas prices and still have to pay 2$ for 2 miles that’s crazy

CHRIS LThere were 3 trailers the size I needed, the one they gave me had a bad tire and a light out on side. I asked them to fix the light he said I had to call U-Haul road service. The other two trailers looked much better for a trip from NY to SC.
Shawn MI signed up for mobile pickup prior to location opening. I even called the day before to ensure I would be all set. I arrived at 7:45am on a Sunday to pick up truck. All 8 lock boxes were open with no keys. I had to wait until 9am for it to open. Opened at 9:10. I had people waiting to help me. Incredibly frustration. Not that hard people. Do your job

Carlo DWhen I went it, it wasn't busy. The woman at the desk was kind and got me on my way quick. They had one of their guys hook the trailer up to my truck, he was a great. Both were personable and kind. I dropped off the trailer after business hours, but it was just as easy. I backed the trailer into the spot I took it from, took the pictures for the app, and I was outta there. Great experience. If I ever need to tow a motorcycle again, I'll come here.

GHULAM UVery convenient location based on our needs, but arrived at 4pm on a Saturday and no one was there. We had called ahead and asked if there was way to drop off blankets and cardboard from the moveand they said yes, but because no one was there we had no idea where to put anything so we leaft it on the truck and had to pay $53 for a cleaning. Disappointing!

JAMES ATruly the best location for getting a truck. Amazing service at Devon’s Orchard in Halfmoon, NY. Excellent customer service, truck was spotless and ready and all the supplies you need. It’s hard to find good customer service these days so I strongly suggest picking up your next truck and Devoe’s. Plus you can shop for pies and assorted groceries when you are done. FIVE STAR!!!
WILLIAM PMade reservation online; very user friendly & easy to navigate. Vehicle was ready upon arrival; staff person provided a walk through as she explained our responsibilities upon return of vehicle. Upon return , checkout was courteous & expedious. It doesn't get better than that!!! Service was overalll great!
NYDIA SThis location was wonderful and the person who served us was wonderful. The rental process itself was also very easy. My only complaint is that we live in East Greenbush and therefore this location was farther away than others, but those locations did not have a pick up truck. The Halfmoon location was easy to get to, but we had to pay mileage on the pick up and drop off (23 miles each way) which was more mileage than we used during our entire rental. If a truck had been available in Albany, our costs would have been significantly less.
