The truck leaked and soaked my boxes at the door and the front by the cab. The office is across the street from the trucks, and you have to cross at a blind corner to get to them.

I did not get the equipment I requested as it was not available, nor did the initial check-in work so I had my truck for 40 minutes less time, meaning since there was not enough time nor materials to move so I had to return the truck ahead of schedule and use my personal vehicle to move the rest of my items. Additionally you have to say how far you will go with no idea how many trips for gas usage, and the tank was barely full so getting it to that level was difficult and it still wanted to charge me after even though it required me to pay ahead of time? The people here were lovely and not the problem, but otherwise this was much more complex, annoying, and inconvenient. This is also not a full true u-haul location which likely led to a lot of the listed issues, but despite knowing and being prepared with that information I was still messed over. I would ask for a refund but I don't want to deal with this anymore.

The entire experience was easy from start to finish. The staff were so helpful and provided us with complimentary waters after a hot day of moving, We will definitely use them again, and I would highly recommend this location to anyone in need of a UHAUL in the Blacksburg/Christiansburg area.

The building was a bit run down on the exterior and interior. The two ladies working at this location didn't get up from their chairs to assist customers and only stood up to provide customers with a phone number to send a picture to when their trailer was hooked up.

Parked in a gravel weedy parki6lot behind and abandoned building. The office was diagonally across the road. I didnt realize that. I walked around the abandoned building and before i called. The two ladies were very helpful and friendly.

The 2 ladies working were nice and knowledgeable. They were a busy office, but that would be expected in a college town. They said they wish they had more trucks because no one could extend their reservation if needed because the next one was so close and no extra trucks.

Better inspect trailer tire. I had a tire blow out during my move. It took over 2 hours for U-Haul to come and replace the tire.

This drop off location was very convenient for me. I appreciated the staff helping me drop off the truck because we didn't 'pre-select' this location to drop off, the staff had a little trouble finding my rental contract. Once they found my contract in the system, the drop-off process went smoothly.

No one there that could help unload the trailer, area isn’t that great where they keep the trucks and trailers. Had to go behind a shoe store to unload the trailer myself. I can’t back a trailer in; luckily my daughter was with me and helped get it backed in.

There was no jack for the trailer at the pick up location which was not at the rental office, I had to wait 45 minutes before someone showed up with a jack to use.

The truck was scheduled for after hours pick up (reserved months ago, confirmed on SEVERAL phone calls), which was not set up, so we were not able to pick up our uhaul until 14 hours after the reserved time- and even then, they told us we were "lucky" to be getting a truck and said they were handing us someone else's reserved keys, because "first come, first serve". There were several others at the location that had made reservations and were told they no longer had a truck available for them. The dolly we reserved and confirmed was not available, so we had to carry our washer and dryer by hand.

Rented a 10' truck for an in-town student move. Truck and AC worked great. I pre-ordered 2 dollies, but site only had 1. It worked out ok, I'd rent here again.

I made a reservation for a 10’ truck three weeks in advance. The day before my reservation, I received a call saying they did not have any 10’ trucks and I would be assigned a 15’ truck instead. This was okay, but if there were none available, why was I allowed to reserve one to begin with? I set my pick up time for 8am, an hour before the location opened. When I arrived at 8, the truck I was assigned had another truck parked behind it, making it impossible for me to move the truck. I used the app’s virtual chat to talk to a representative who told me to call a number that did not work (when I called, there was an automated message saying they were experiencing difficulties and to call back later). I was then told to call a different number, where I was on hold for 15 minutes before receiving another automated message saying I was being transferred to a different region’s scheduling office to help speed things along. I was able to talk to someone there, but they said that I was out of their region and therefore unable to help. I was then out back on hold. While on hold, an employee for the location arrived and I was able to ask for help. She was very helpful in assigning us a new truck. However the one she assigned us had the engine light on. We finally were assigned a different truck, however we did not leave the location until 9am, a full hour past our pick up time, which delayed our packing and traveling schedule for the day. Very frustrated and disappointed.

I am rating my overall U-Haul experience, not this specific location. That would seem to be the reasonable practice; I have no idea why U-Haul would not provide the ability to do that. I will duplicate this rating and text for both the pick-up and drop-off locations. The trailer itself was satisfactory: it towed and operated correctly. However, I was given to believe when I picked it up that I would not be charged for more days than I kept it. Otherwise, why would I have been asked to call the drop-off location to confirm when I would return it, so that they could book another rental for it? I picked up the trailer at about 11:20 AM 5/27 from the pick-up location, and returned it almost exactly 48 hours later on 5/29 at the drop-off location. Why was I not charged for 2 days, rather than 3? I was also not pleased to find that U-Haul has no centralized customer support for this kind of rental, forcing the customer to deal with two locations separately for the same transaction. That is tedious and time consuming for the customer, unless the intent was to make it as difficult as possible for the customer to get clear, official, responses to issues. I will be extremely reluctant to use U-Haul in the future after this experience.

Thank goodness for these two fabulous ladies at this location. We traveled to from NJ to move my daughter’s things from one apartment to another. I had reserved a van before making the trip. When we were about an hour away I received a text that said they did not have a van for me and to call a 800 number. After an hour on the phone they said nothing was available in the area because they over booked vans. I made my way to the dominion land and auction location. The ladies were a great help. They found the mistake made by the reservations app and got me the van to move my daughter. If it weren’t for them my trip would have been wasted. Thanks again to those two great ladies. Oh and the had Ice cold water for us after moving in the heat.

Location never gave me a receipt nor went over contract. Plus had to help hook up my own trailer. Straps and chains. Place was disorganized and chaotic. Oh, Ryan did give me apricebreak on order after this one. He is a good area manager!

Staff was friendly and supportive. Despite the U-Haul computer system being down when I had to pick up my truck, they went out of their way to ensure I got set up correctly. Truck was clean and drove well. I’d recommend this location to anyone in the New River Valley who needs to rent a truck for a move.

The lady was rude and acted like I was stupid for thinking the key should be outside location like it was at another pick up place. Then I couldn’t add my son I had to stay in the phone for an hour trying to get him approved as a driver they had no idea about denial. Then drop off app was a nightmare it kept kicking out the pictures in the pouring rain. Not a good experience today

Reserved a 15ft truck nd did not have it on day of pick up so got a 29ft truck whch was way to big and cost so much more in gas. Was ridiculous!!

Was given the wrong key to moving truck. Was on the phone for 2 hours before being directed to another location for a truck. Was still charged for the truck we didn't get. When talking to Dominion Uhaul about this I was hung up on.. way overcharged and inconvenienced. Horrible experience

I was charged $254 for 20 mile trip! they said I used 300 but didn’t even think to go look at the mileage! Now I’m in a mess and have to wait for a refund. Those old ladies at old dominion in Blacksburg think they know it all and are so rude. They screwed up and I have to suffer
