One of the ramps on the trailer would not deploy. Luckily I had a pry bar and could gradually get it to come out so I could load the trailer. Otherwise, both locations were great, professional. Nice to order the rental online too

The office was smoke filled, I would not want to sit there and do any paperwork, I cant recall being in a place of business where smokers made the room uncomfortable. I got there at 12:30 then noticed a sign saying they were closed from 1:00 to 2:00 for lunch. Not knowing this and getting there at 1:00 and having to wait would have been disturbing.

I was confirmed to pickup the Truck in Morro Bay close to my house, without consulting me I was redirected to Atascadero 30 miles away and causing conflicts with movers. The same thing happened at the end of my one way rental to Clovis CA. I was again redirected to a new drop location 25 miles from my house. I was then charged for an additional 40+ miles @ $1 a mile or $40, plus more fuel. Felt like “bait and switch”. I don’t blame in individual site reps,!I do blame corp schedulers for misleading us.

First of all don’t charge your customers $25 just for accidentally leaving 1 very small bag of food. 2nd have your trucks ready for pickup at the scheduled time, I had to pay 3 movers for an extra 30 minutes of overtime because they were late in providing the reserved truck. Then finally after waiting 30 minutes they substituted the truck we originally rented for one that was too big and didn’t meet our needs making it a lot more difficult. Then when we asked them to waive the cleaning charge that they added for the very small bag smaller than a mini bag of potato chips they refused. I don’t know if we will ever be using U-Haul services again.

The smell of cigarette smoke in the office is pretty intense.

Trailer had no working lights. The only light that worked was the left running light. All other lights, blinkers, and brake lights did not work. I almost got a ticket for the lights not working. I tested my truck with a multimeter and bought a new adapter just to make sure my truck was not the problem.

I reserved a 5x8 enclosed trailer. When I arrived I was informed my trailer had not been returned by the previous customer. Luckily the location had a 6x12 trailer available. I took this trailer even though, when loaded, it risked exceeding my vehicle’s towing capacity.

Attendant went to lunch even though I was in the lot to drop truck off. My wife was there telling her I’m bringing truck. She said I’m going to lunch. Locked up and told my wife to drop keys in slot. There was no place to park so I left truck in center of lot and put keys in the door.

Everything went fine, my only gripe is the location in my town didn’t have the large truck size I needed. So I had to drive to Atascadero from Paso Robles so it added more paid miles and gas to the trip. It would be nice or fair that if the location you need doesn’t have the truck size that they count the distance from the store you should have been able to get it from. But it was still fine and there is not really any other moving options besides U-Haul. So even if it was terrible which it wasn’t there isn’t really any other options.

This is our first time using U-Haul. My wife and I were satisfied with the service they provided and we will recommned this business to our friends and family; we rated this location with an excellent rating. In the survey, one of the question is, "Was the equipment clean and well maintained?" We answered no, because the truck had a few issues, but it was super clean in the cab and it was super clean in the enclosed bed. The issues were: 1. The truck nay need new brake rotors and the truck may need tire balancing. The steering wheel shook when applying the brakes specially going down the grade and while applying the brakes from a coast. 2. There was an issue with the vehicle's charging system gauge. Normally, volt gauge reads at 14 volts after vehicle has started, but the gauge was fluctuating between nine and 14. The voltage drops to nine volts while driving for miles, then it jumps back up to 14; it did this througout the trip, but the truck started fine. 3. The roof of the enclosed cargo had a hole big enough to leave a puddle inside the bed. Luckily, we already had the furnitures offloaded. Overall, we are very satisfied with their customer service, we are satisfied with the cleanliness of their equipment.

If you put a hold on the customers credit card yet allow him to pay cash, make it so they dont have to wait three days to get the depost that you withheld on the card. Thsre are systems that money gets withdrawn and deposited instantly
