Better description of the locations. The gated area made it hard to find. I did not realize is was an storage place was looking actual haul.. had horrible time trying to extend drop off time.. called 1800gouhaul 4x to hold 45 min to get hung up onPatty C.
We came in, rented a 10' truck. Ot was not clean or sanitized and stunk like a casino when the heater was turned on. After renting g and driving to load location we found there was no ramp on the truck.. an important conversation point Ibwoukd think, for a moving company.. do yiu need a ramp.. The entire reason we didn't use a relatives truck btw was so we would have ramp access... a few hrs later when we were do e, we attempted to put gas in only to watch it leak heavily from the bottom... horrible experience. This was a substitute truck, because U-haul failed to provide the vehicle that I had original reserved. Had I not initiated an inquiry the night before my reservation I would have driven 45 miles to discover there was no truck for me. Afterward I received an e-mail promising a $50 credit to my credit card and a $100 voucher. Neither has materialized.Dan M.
Despite me asking why he was not â€˜walking through â€˜ the vehicle he said â€œthat was already doneâ€ I've been running vehicles for over 30 years and that always was the last step before signing but I was only going to use it for a few hours return it the next day so I thought it harmless OK what can happen? well the nightmare came when I returned the car and they told me that I put 1100 miles on it when I put about 6 . I told them they must've made a mistake and to check it again because it was impossible . There response was â€œthe mileage doesn't lieâ€?!! so I can only assume they were accusing me of lying to them! Another strange incident was no fuel in the vehicle . Again that is not something I've experienced- it is always I take it half full & I will return it half full. I was only planning on using this vehicle to pick up items that did not fit in my car so whatever gas I would've put in, was going to exceed what I was going to absorb.. So why would I drive around and so I can return it empty like I got it and spend more money on miles? None of it makes any logical sense at all. What can you do to improve the next customer you ask ! insist that you both look at the miles (unless you're deceiving the customer on purpose.). I told them it is possible your worker did not log in The last trip and added it to me . that's the only thing I can think of ? Why would the guy not want me to see the odometer while there was two other people working there beside him ? it's kind of shady and something fishy is going on to say the least. I insisted for them to check their GPS and that would show that I am honest and telling the truth but they refused . My 6 mile (max) trip turned into The Nightmare on Longley Street!Joan R.

The attendant that is running this location didn't even hook up the trailer for us. He didn't come and see if we needed any help, we had to figure it out on our own. Good thing we have rented a trailer before and watched how they did it or else we would have been screwed. Definitely not coming back to this location.Felix M.
I wish I didn't have to rate the specific location because the man who helped me at the counter was extremely professional and helpful. However, my experience with UHaul was a complete nightmare. I called to set up a reservation for Saturday at the Moana store on Thursday, received a text late Friday night that due to a customer extension the truck was no longer available. The text gave the S Virginia address saying to give them a call and my reservation was moved there. So then I figured I could just pick up a truck at the local UHaul provider in Yerington, NV instead. Their website on Facebook said they were open, however, on arrival I found they were closed. So then I called the S Virginia store and sat on hold for 35 minutes before speaking with someone. When I spoke to the representative I told her I was driving an hour and a half to get the truck so I wanted to make sure they had one available. She assured me that she did, but upon arrival I was informed there were no available vehicles. The representative who helped at the S Virginia location then called scheduling to try and help me and they wanted me to drive to FERNLEY, which is 45 minutes back in the direction I had just come from.. just for me to drive another 45 min back to Reno and then another hour and a half back to Yerington? It was a no for me. Finally they told me they were able to get me a vehicle at the Longley Lane location. I made sure the associate who was helping at S Virginia called down there first before I wasted my time. Luckily, Longley had a truck and I was able to get in and out of there quickly and the man who helped me was nice! Then when I went to drop off the vehicle in Yerington UHaul doesn't even have the correct address for the store that services UHauls.. luckily I knew that was not the correct address.. but if I had not? I even called before dropping it off and confirmed with an associate over the phone that the location online was incorrect and that the correct location was closed on weekends so I just wanted to make sure it would go smoothly from there. She said everything had been corrected. But then I had to call again on Monday to have the dropoff location updated after the truck had already been sitting for a whole day because the original associate did not actually switch it.... Overall, this experience was ridiculous (to put it mildly). I gave this store 4 stars because my experience with the specific location on Longley was as expected, but if I could rate just UHaul there would be no stars.. horrible.tiffany R.

They were not honest with me!! They said the UHaul jad a bench seat, it did not. They said it had a ramp, and a dolly, it didnt. It was not easy to get to, and you didnt know where to go once you got there.Sharena J.

The location and office staff were all great. The mobile registration and check in was extremely poor experience. I was delayed half an hour. So I checked in on my mobile phone, the software requested I take a photo of my drivers license. Then the software told me the picture wasn't good enuf and couldn't be verified. I had already provided my drivers license the day before to the office clerk. Subsequently the software gave me the wrong four digit access code to the lock on the back of the truck. The office clerk then gave me another four digit code to try. Moving the wheels on the lock was extremely difficult. It was like they were stuck in place.Finally got the four digit code correct but the lock didn't want to open up. I jiggled the wheels a bit but to no avail. Finally one of the storage yard guys got it to open up. So in summary the mobile registration and check in was a disaster and very frustrating. Thankfully the office and yard staff were very helpful in getting me on my way. Next time maybe I rent a truck from HertzTim B.

My reservation was not honored at the UHaul location booked online. We were sent to a second location several miles away. The vehicle was not ready at our pick up time (covered with frost, dirty, and gas tank not full). Other than that, the Emigrant Storage personnel were friendly and professional.Laura T.

I put the correct amount of gasoline in the truck before I turned it in and dropped the keys off in the overnight drop. The next morning was called and told I didn't put gasoline in when I returned it and was going to be charged for it. Thankfully I had the receipt from the gas purchase and had also taken a picture of the gas gauge and odometer before I dropped the keys in the overnight box. Had to drive there to show them the photo and receipt to which the representative told me â€œwell siphoning is a problem at this locationâ€Joshua D.

The paper process went smoothly but then she she said the trailer was in the yard. This is not what U-haul does. They walk to trailer, hook & check the lights. They also have check tire pressure. We discovered low tire pressure while towing the vehicle. One tire had only 25 lbs & extremely hot.. Others 30 to 55. Fortunately we were able to get to a gas station and at lest put in 45lbs. in all tires.Paul S.

The staff didn't know how to operate the system even enough to check out a trailer with a reservation. It took them 45 minutes to figure out where the paperwork was and what needed to be done. The trailer had trash in it we had no help finding it or hooking it up they did no inspection and it was the same upon returning it. I hate to give poor reviews but this was ridiculous. And on top of it it was gated in and the lady inside was very stingy about opening it so I could get my truck out of the road. In short the staff there needs to be more thoroughly trained. I use uhaul often and I know their system is simple and straightforward for all to make life easier on every party involved and that's why the company has done so well over the years.Corrina L.

Ask what it will be used for. I rented it to move a UTV and the rear door was not wide enough. I couldn't use the trailer had to load it in my truck (big problem). If you advertise a 6' wide trailer it needs to be clear that the rear door is only 5'.ROGER J.

Got a felony pull over due to licences plate on truck being stolen. What company rents put a truck that has stolen plates on. Going with Penske from now on. Military family , we move alot and will definitely let all of the military bases to NOT rent from uhaulCorey B.

This location rented a truck to me and said I did not fill up the tank, I did though. They refunded me $15 and I called Uhaul customer service to complain because I was angry. It turned out it was a fuel line leak from a poorly taped repair. The lady at the store ended up treating me fairly and I apologized for my hot headedness the day before. It was an unfortunate event, but it was just a mechanicl thing in the end and easily resolved.Tim H.
I prefer going to a uhaul location then a substation. The woman at the desk was not friendly at all. Unlike uhaul it took 15 mins to get me on my way. Had to take a copy of my Id and get my credit card info even tho it was on uhaul.com. When I go to uhaul directly it takes less then five mins. My truck is ready and I sign. My truck wasn't ready I had to get all the mirrors adjusted myself. I wasn't allowed to leave my vehicle there like I do at uhaul. I had to park it at the gas station next door and hope they didn't tow it for the four hours I had the uhaul. I was forced to use this location because it was the only one with a truck in the size and time I needed. I suggest either more uhaul locations or more trucks. Will not make the mistake of using a substation again. I'll just adjust my rental accordingly. Definitely a learning experience!Jessica V.

More than the service location, it was once again my entire U-Haul experience. The app has glitches. Despite reserving a truck at a designated, preselected pickup I was sent elsewhere. The charges were incorrect. I spent over an hour trying to resolve the issue. I wasn't listened to or valued. I have never had a seemless, positive transaction with U-Haul. I will never patronize this company again.

The clerk who helped us was a bit snappish and not too friendly. She did not perform a walkthrough of the truck before we took it. The driver side wiper was loose and when we went to the office to tell them, they had already left for lunch. They should have waited to ensure we were ok with the vehicle before going to lunch.Lynette P.

I was confused trying to determine if the truck was to be returned to the Mini-market or to Emigrant since the addresses of both businesses was not easily viewed, and both businesses share a parking lot where multiple U-Haul trucks were parked.Richard G.

Missing securing chain on right side. Left tail light wasn't secured. When i stopped for gas, I noticed it was dangling by it's electrical wire. The left ratchet that secures the belt on the tire was in terrible shape. The belts were filthy and left your hands black. When I dropped off the trailer, the owner noticed that the right belt was worn practically in two where it attaches to the dolly at the back side of the wheel, and could have failed. This tow dolly should never have been rented out in such condition.VERDON P.

The trailer wasn't appropriate for my car, had to climb in/out of the windows. But that wasn't their fault. The crew there was very helpful and tried hard. The only issue was the truck was on empty when I got it (and they share a parking lot with a gas station!). But I'll get customer service to handle the fuel credit. Overall pleasant - much better than the other dealer in Reno I tried originally to rent from.Bennett P.
The cab of the truck was covered with dog hair from a long-haired breed. There were bugs on the windshield that I had to clean off in order to see sufficiently while driving. There were personal items from previous renter left in the truck. The back of the truck was not cleaned either. I know that this vendor was new to renting out haul equipment, and have no doubt gotten better at the procedure. Still, I had to sacrifice for their lack of experience. Due to several unforeseen circumstances; severe weather being one, I had to keep the truck many days longer than I planned. It was an extreme difficulty trying to reach a person at anytime during the course of the rental whether I called a specific location or the 800 number. I tried to get information and direction from a location near my hotel in Reno. The person I dealt with was rude and completely unhelpful. I ended up giving up on trying to get the truck returned on time.Lynn W.

I helped out uhaul's equipment transfer department and I transferred a 12' unit from the uhaul rental in San Jose, Ca off of Curtner and dropped it off a uhaul rental location in Reno, NV off of S Virginia st. Doing so, Uhaul was suppose to reimburse me $400. I still have not received that $400 back in my account.Garrett R.
