The operator was mostly useless. He couldn't figure out how to boot his computer to locate my reservation. It took my 45 minutes to get my truck. He offered nothing in terms of value.David R.

The location was a gas station. The only employee seemed unaware of the Uhaul rental process and had to make several phone calls before he handed me the keys and said "ok." I was not asked to show a drivers license, a credit card, nor did I receive a copy of a contract. He did not check the truck with me to see that there was equipment in the truck (which I didn't need). Upon return of the truck two days later a different employee checked the mileage only and didn't open the truck to see if the equipment was there or that the truck was clean.Joanne H.
I was overcharged and they didn't close out my ticket until almost over the 24 hours time. I rented the truck 10-20-23 @ 3:30 pm and turned it in 10-21-23 @ 8:30 am. I only drove 16 miles total and they charged me $35 for gas when I returned it as I rented it. Also I didn't ask for the safe drive insurance and they added that as well. I recommend that no one rent a U-haul truck from them.Quinton B.

The Energy Mart was awesome they are good people I've been going there for years so I'm not going to give them a bad rating but I will never ever ever use U Haul again first thing was this is where I wanted to go a week out I contacted U Haul and told them I wanted to be at that location instead they wanted to send me somewhere that was 8 miles away so you automatically get $16 because of the $.99 per mile I told them no I wanted to go to this location they said they would switch it I've got people waiting at my house I show up and I have to wait for 45 minutes but it gets better they charged my card $586 by mistake and it took five days to get it back I have been unpacking but I have over 5000 friends on Facebook you're about to get lit up I am going to bash you every hour on the hour and say how sorry your business actually is I also plan on doing a yelp in a Google review and it will not be good I tried to speak to a supervisor named Jared in the area and that was virtually impossible so you have pushed me to the limit and I am going to make sure I do everything I can to badmouth you on Facebook on yelp and Google what happened to me should've never happened I had nothing to do with Energy Mart it was all you clowns thank you for the worst experience I've ever had with the moving company and it will be the last with you guys if you would like to reach out to me my phone number is 843-263-5806 hopefully you'll be able to reach me before you get all these bad reviews I doubt you will because you truly don't care I saw that when I tried to reach out to Jared four times what's the point of having a supervisor if they can't even help the customer What a disgrace your businessesTim C.

I am very disappointed with uhaul and all of the participating locations. Every employee I spoke to told me they couldn't find my reservation, the lady at the Uhaul store in North Charleston told me â€œa truck might be available for me at this addressâ€ I was sent to 3 different locations and finally found my truck reserved, no one advised me my pick up location changed and this was a huge inconvenience. I don't think I will be considering uhaul in the future.Hailey R.
The app was saying our appointment was at 8:30 in the morning but when did prompts it said needed to wait till noonâ€¦ asked person working and they kept saying we must have done something wrong and we're not helpful. The place we picked up the uhaul from was a gas station. The man at the register had no idea what to do and had to communicate with someone at a different location. They did not update the reservation for the name of the person driving the truck and I did not sign anything. I had no proof of receiving the uhaul either. It was a mess. The guy at the register handed me his nasty personal cell phone to talk to some lady at a different location and she took my payment over the phone while I was standing in a gas station!! I had to give my card information out loud in a gas station!! No acceptable!! I would not recommend that pick up location to anyone! They also took an unnecessary $100 deposit from me that I still have not gotten back! After speaking to U-Haul customer service I found out they were never even supposed to take that from me. My drop off experience in Winston Salem was perfect though.Nadaley B.

This is the second time I've gone to pick up a moving truck from a location that doesn't have the equipment that I've reserved. The person inside the gas station that gave me the key had absolutely no idea how to handle a pick up or drop off and had no idea what I was talking about when I asked if they had the equipment I reserved.Kayla B.

I drove the uhaul less than 10 miles, never used it to move. I was charged 44 plus bucks. When I went to the place I reserved it, the truck was not there so he sent me to another. I was told not to worry about the mileage because it wasn't my fault the truck was not there. I won't go back again.Rokenya C.

This location was not close to my house, but it was the only one that I could find a 10' truck. Because of the distance from my house, I used more miles than I was allowed. The location is on a very busy street and it wasn't easy to get in and out of. However, I was treated politely and the equipment was clean. The truck seemed to have been maintained well.Pattie B.

The equipment was clean, the 26' truck needs an alignment. In order to drive straight, the wheel was cocked at about 45 degrees. The suspension/air ride was shot. Drove like a tank (but I'm assuming that's expected with a 26' truck with 163xxxK miles) End of the day, truck was drivable and did what I needed it to do.Brandon H.

The online reservation was easy and effective but the online review of vehicle condition was not. Everything looked good from the outside but once in the drivers seat you could see the dirt and grime on the counsel and dash. The vehicle made loud grinding noise, similar to a power steering pump going bad. It needs service.Susan T.
When driving the uhaul it shakes like the engine is coughing. When you got a certain speed the whole truck begins to shake. It took longer for the move because we could not travel the interstate because the truck would shake so much I was scared it was going to break down. Uhaul rep over phone did not have initial reservation correct. I was then sent to another location area unsafe as someone was shot/murdered in area just a few hours before I got there. The Uhaul rep was late opening store (time change) so I was in turn late picking up items which caused me to return truck late for which I was charged an additional 39$ for. Truck was dirty and passenger seat belt did not work. I had my nephew in the truck with me. Aweful experience.Sara L.

U-Haul did nothing to make amends for the problems. I had to drive the rent truck to a different location to pick up the above mentioned items. The lady was very rude in getting me set up. I had pre ordered a 26 ft truck and a car transport as well as 2 hand dollies They didnt have but 1 dollie and no car transport. I told the lady I had pre ordered them and she told me it wasent her problem I could take what she had or not that it didn't matter to her. The store rep was late. The truck I was assigned had no gas and the check engine light was on. The other truck I received had no dolly and I was still billed for it. The back also smelled like urine. Hopefully my furniture won't smell the same. I will never, ever do this again.Regina R.
Representative said the gas tank was full, but was broken so it showed an empty tank. We drove the truck 17 miles and brought it back and he told us we needed to fill it back up. When we started pumping the gas, it took 19 gallons, so obviously it was not full when we picked it up. He made us pay him $28 for the gas. It was very dishonest of him and he was not polite at all. I will never use this location again. He also said he couldn't provide me a receipt, so I asked if I could take a picture of the receipt that was showing up on his computer. I had to step behind the counter and take a picture of it with my phone.cindy M.

Truck was not cleaned out; clothes and junk were left in the truck from previous renter; gas was empty and had to fill up before departing; paperwork and online pictures were not updated for exterior damages found on the truck, which prompted me to take pictures before departing; and i got mistakenly billed for returning the truck with a 1/4 tank of gas when the vendor claimed i was supposed to return it with 1/2 or 3/4 tank. I counter claimed that i took a picture of the empty gas tank per the online checkout list.john O.
Last time i rented a truck, the tank had to be full upon return or there was a big fee i also remember they only get around 8 miles/gal This time the truck was only just under 1/2 tank, and since I had to take it an hour away, I filled the tank which cost me $77. A lot better trucks now, because the gauge barely moved so it was returned with just about a full tank.ni am not happy, not only do I feel that should be taken off of my bill, i was also charges $1.43 for goong over the mileage (which you knew where I started and where I ended up) Please have someone call me Also The unloading helpers I scheduled to unload the truck did not show up because one of them went to jail after getting pulled over on the way to the unloading site (2 and a 1/2 hours after they were already supposed to be there). I do not think they checked out the trailer when it was brought in. When I picked up the trailer they did not check the out before I left. I hooked it by my self and checked my own light to be sure they worked . I had a blowout when we were almost home . The 2 tires on the right side were not in good shape. The front right side blew out, and the back one (same side) worn down to threads showing. While I was getting the the trailer the paper work was fine. Other then that it was not good.steven B.

Please have vehicles cleaned for the next customer. There should be no reason why a vehicle has cigarette ashes in the cup holder and overall a unsanitary vehicle.
