This was worse experience Of renting a U-Haul which I thought would be great since it was very convenient and close to where I live. But it was not convenient in the least. I went to this vendor three times same day, and finally I got to rent a U-Haul the worker was not friendly or considerate of my time and long time waiting.... I will not rent from this uhaul vendor again nor will I recommend this vendor. I will rent elsewhere...

I rented a 6x12 trailer and I told the lady we would pick up between 3 pm and 5 pm. When we arrived at 4:45 I was told that it was given to someone else. We were given an excuse that since we didn’t pick it up by 4 pm they take it away. The manager stated that someone didn’t see the note that we would pick up around 5 pm. Anyway I’m not a happy customer and I’m sure you could care less.

Rented from a Valero gas station, the employees were very nice but not very helpful. After all the paperwork was done they sent me out the door with no help finding the trailer. When I clarified which one, I asked multiple times for them to move the uhaul truck which was parked in front of the trailer tongue. The trailer tongue was set on the ground and I had to ask multiple times help lifting it because I wasn't trying to get hurt before a weekend of moving. Cargo trailer wreaked of either skunk or cannabis but because of the season I assumed cannabis. This made the household goods that were transported also smell.

Everything went very smoothly. We especially appreciated the mobile check in and drop off. It made the entire process so much easier. The only thing that we noticed was that remnants of food were on and around the cup holder area as well as a bottle cap. Other than that, the truck was clean and in good working order.

Made reservation for one way - was charged extra because the rental location agent changed the order to an "in town" rate/order. The reservation was clearly made for one -way - check everything - cost me a wasted extra $150.00

Truck and trailer was reserved at this location, but only the truck was there . We had to go to a different location, which we did . We waited almost 2 hours cause the personnel was having trouble processing the reservation only to learn the trailer they had wasn’t the I reserved . I then called to file a claim and was told a manager would get back to me and that never happened. Very bad customer service.

Truck was dirty inside/outside. I was not able to aprove photos from company before picking up the truck. (Smartphone pick up) I had to record video photos myself just in case. Returned the truck in store the same day. Attendant at Valero not helpful at all. Next time will make everything in person. That’s the way you make sure everything is as promised.

Customer service is non existent... showed up for my trailer and they kept helping customers that came in after me first for gas and store purchases... waited a half hour to do paperwork... once done they pointed out the door to where my trailer was... I asked if they were going to hook it up and he said no... I said usually they hook me up at other U-Haul and checknthat all lights were working... he just shrugged his shoulders... I rented for 24hrs but returned the same day... the next morning they called my phone and when I answered they had no greeting... the woman just said... “ you rented a trailer and you are very late returning” I told her I returned it yesterday and she said let me check and hung up... I will never rent from this location again and neither should anyone else... just horrible gives U-Haul a bad name...

Have better communication/information sharing (Especially if there will be a shift change in personnel) between the customer representatives at this location. So all parties are informed about details of a rental contract.

I was overcharged on miles by at least 15 extra miles. Seeing as I had to drive all over town to secure a vehicle I should have gotten when I reserved it at 10 Am and received it at 3 PM (5 hours late), I would have expected the best service possible and a discount on my vehicle. I received neither.

Rented from the good location in Chico, CA but then was directed to pick up the truck a a junk hole location. Personal were inept and unwilling to help. Had to wait 45 minutes for the owner to return and she was never called to tell her she had customers waiting. I had an appointment and confirmed it with the owner. One couple canceled and went down the street to Buget rental. This pick up location needs to be fired!

The check in process was very difficult. The person doing the paperwork had to call to get help. It took almost 30 minutes to complete. Then there was no orientation to the equipment. I will not use this location again. However the person handling the check in was nice.

We received no assistance when we returned the trailer. We had to unhitch it in a very poorly lit parking lot. The man “helping us” was very hard to understand. The only positive was that we were able to return the trailer at night.

As i have discussed with ur regional office. My quote...per john after business hrs.. went from 560 to 725 when i attempted to rent the truck. Luckily Deidre was able to assist. I pd for them to connect my vehicle by josway. This young man is completely inexperienced and ultimately the strap fell off while in route. I contacted them immediately as i dis not want another customer to experience the same. Serious risk. Upon my arrival...i realised that murrieta branch...josway...had input the wrong drop off spot. I contacted uhaul to change to the one i had requested and i was on the phone for 40 min trying to change unril i spoke with Rachel?...who assisted me in under 2 min. Now upon arrival to have corrected drop spot to remove the tow hitch...(regional office was on the phone at this time and over heard this entire conversation) i was told he did NOT know how to do it...this was outside while i was waiting for paperwork because the female at this location could not process returning just the hitch...20 mins later...i removed the hitch myself and in the process injured my right hand and 2 knuckles. In pain and infuriated...the female exits to the outside with my paperwork and i leave with just the truck as i had to continue to move. I did return the truck today and again was not able to get my concluding paperwork as bob or bill could not figure out how to do so. I left with a hand written note stating the truck...mileage...fuel etc was in tact and i am currently awaiting my closing paperwork via email. Moving is very stressful but this experience was hands down appalling and refuse to ever rent from uhaul again. If u have any further questions regarding this experience...pls call me

Pretty sketchy looking exterior. Bars on windows, dirty trash cans and asphalt. Stuff all over...hard to sort out everything going on there.

I was charged double for a 1 day rental. My reservation was for 10am pickup on Thursday November 29th. I did not leave the Valero Gas until 10:45am because the computer was not working. Once the rental agent received help by calling UHaul I was then left to hook up the trailer by myself in the pouring rain! I then pulled the trailer out of the ankle deep water so I could test the signals, although I could not test the brakes because no one helped me. Also, I had to go back into Valero to get the wire harness to hook up the trailer. I turned in the trailer at 10:10am in Friday November 30th. I unhooked the trailer myself but was not able to lift the hitch again so I asked for help and a mechanic came to assist me. It was 10:30am when I left the Valero. I am going to report this double charge as a fraud if this over charge is not reversed immediately! I have been a loyal long term customer of UHaul as my rental history on my account will show. I have never received such poor service and will not ever rent from UHaul again if my pickup is at the Valero Gas station on Esplanade in Chico!

Hire some help. That nice lady kicked butt and has excellent customer service skills. She remained quite calm for the chaos created by other customers. That being said she should have had help because it was not right what she was having to do by herself.

When returning the vehicle the employee that was working didn’t know how to do the check in procedure and expected me to just turn the keys over without giving me any prof of him accepting the vehicle. He said that only his boss does the check ins and his boss was off for the day.

The clerk’s command of English was marginal, resulting in me doing almost all the data entry on the UHaul system keyboard. Worse than that was when I asked for assistance getting the auto hauler trailer hooked up (would have gone faster if staff had assisted in guiding me on backing up for hook up) the clerk walked outside & then promptly disappeared for the duration of the time I was getting the auto hauler hooked up. Fortunately, I’m well familiar with trailers & hooking them up solo. I can only imagine the legal chaos that could have ensued had I not had any experience & there was equipment damage/injury due to ignorance/lack of knowledgeable assistance. As it was, since there were no staff, nor trailer dolly to use, I had to muscle the auto hauler around by myself (I’m 65 years old) just to get it in a position where I could get my truck hooked up. Not at all cool! However, on the plus side, my wife said the 1-800 number was tremendously helpful in helping her find an auto hauler on short notice.

Unprofessional setting. Although representative as a person was nice but she lacked professionalism. I was given my key and told to take it. Nobody did pre inspection, truck smelled and was dirty from outside.

I hope that not another person spends a dollar here. So i woke up today to a harrassing phone call from my wifes ex. He used to work at this place. Well the gas station that this uhaul is at. He doesnt work there anymore so we didnt think anything of it. Mistake. So after getting reamed for the car dolly (60 BUCKS) MY INFO THAT I PROVIDED TO UHAUL WAS SHARED WITH OUR STALKER. its been nonstop harrassment since. We don't feel safe anymore because i had to rent a dolly. I though uhaul was better than this and we are very displeased. ( I dont think our laywer will be though) please use caution when at this location. It was the indian lady that helped us if that helps. Thanks

The only small issue was when I picked up truck, gas was not full - probably a few gallons, the needle hung under the full line. Only suggestion is to make sure it is full before releasing to next customer. I wanted to get truck and go so didn’t say anything. But overall, great experience, very flexible and personable, friendly staff to deal with.

After completely booking the reservation online the day before, this facility could not use our reservation and had to start from scratch. There was a language barrier which made it more difficult. The person handling the reservation was not on site, they try to handle it all over the phone. It took forever. The whole experience was probably my worst experience ever with U-Haul

A new person was creating the booking. Instead of 5 days, he booked 1 day and Uhaul were on the phone asking where the truck was. On return they put the wrong return mileage in and charged my credit card over $3,000. The whole thing was a mess. Sorry but not recommended. U-Haul office on the phone was not much better help either. Over all very upsetting.

I reserved it for pickup @11am on Friday. Got there at 11:15 (ish) and the guy gives me attitude right off the bat. Starts telling me that he's too busy to get it done and still hasnt checked it from the last guy that dropped it off. So I ask how long and he said I dont know probably like an hour! Then keeps ringing up the convience store customers for like 10 minutes while Im standing there twirling my thumbs attempting to be patient. So he gets done ringing people up and he's just standing there not doing anything looking out the window. So I ask again... can you get it ready so we can leave. I'm paying 3 people $25 an hour to move my stuff so I need to leave. That's when he started acting like a effing 5 year old saying well if you dont like it you can go somewhere else and rent! I kinda lost my ish at that point. Told him it should have been ready at 11 like I'm paying for! Then we walked over to the uhaul computer and he asks my name, I tell him, he says you dont even have a reservation! I look at the screen and it says rose @11am... at this point I'm getting pissed off. Then he tells me I need a second form of id so I show him my military id, he says type in the numbers, I said I cant legally do that, he says then go rent somewhere else. Then says well then give me a credit card number to put in as second id... ehhh??! No...? I gave the 1-800 all of my info to reserve it. He says then go rent it some where else and walks away. At this point Im on the verge of snapping! I said just inspect the truck so I can leave! He says well I'd have to lock the store to do that... I gave him a look like well get on it then. He's stillll ringing people up. Then finally says ok I'm ready... starts walking towards the truck, some guy drives up and says I need propane AND I S**T YOU NOT HE FILLS THE TANK AND UNLOCKS TGE STORE TO RING HIM UP!! I lost it. At that point it was like 1145 amd he still hadn't checked it in from the privous

Drop off was at a gas station. Owner/worker was too busy to check in the Uhaul. Receipt was emailed but I felt there should have been a better check in. I felt un comfortable leaving it without some kind of check.

Drop off location was not helpful at all. Staff did not know what to do when I arrived. They called there boss and handed me the phone and said talk to her. Had to call uhaul twice for them to call the location to mark the equipment as returned.

When I showed up to drop off my trailer all I got was a blank stare. I asked for help unhooking it and he said he wasn't going to help and neither was the other gentleman behind the counter. I finally asked a brand-new young employee to help me and he was great. Then when I came back for some kind of confirmation of delivery he grunted negatively and then finally printed out the receipt. Customer service was awful!!

I used express check-in, but it took over 45 minutes to get my trailer. The person I met knew nothing about my pending rental. A very disorganized operation. I would search elsewhere in the Chico area for rentals.

hard to find. they thought I had pickup truck. Owner didn't seem to know what to do. Very poor service, and not a regular u-haul store. I was a gas station that also rented trucks

The back of the uhaul was very dirty and it took 20min when I dropped it off to get everything taken care of. Would not use this place again.
