The only issue we had was not getting a paper receipt for the rental. We are pastors and this was used for transporting church supplies. It hard to get a refund if we don't have a receipt for the records .geraldine F.

I, first of all, want to comment on the original location that I was scheduled to pick up the rental - A Kut Above Detail Shop - located at 2105 Martin St. S., Pell City. The place was closed. After working through 4 different U-Haul representatives by phone, we managed to get an outside lock box open to see if the keys had been deposited there for pickup. They were not. U-Haul tried unsuccessfully to get in contact with the Owner of the facility. I eventually had to travel 50 minutes to another town to pick up the truck at 115 Legacy Pkwy, Springville, AL. When I arrived, the lady at the counter said the gentleman responsible for rentals was out of town but on the way back. After waiting for an hour, he finally arrived. The U-Haul rep that arranged for the alternate location assured me that all I had to do was walk in the door and get the keys. I had workers on the clock to help me with the move and lost 4 hours due to U-Haul. The unit that I picked up had less than 1/2 tank of fuel and the pull-down cup holders in the dash were broken. The facility did not have the appliance movers that I was promised would be available. The entire experience was pathetic.Todd O.

I had several issues with this reservation. The day before my reservation, I got a call telling me they didn't have a truck available (even though I was still able to reserve it on the website) and moved it to where I had to drive an additional 30 minutes out of the way to go get the truck. When I arrived to pick up the truck, even though my reservation was a one-way, I was told I could not have the one-way reservation and that I could either cancel my reservation or drive the truck back the next day and pay the mileage overage. Canceling wasn't an option because my movers were literally on the way to my place while I was picking up the truck. I don't think it's fair or right to expect me to pay the mileage overage when that wasn't communicated to me until I arrived to pick up the truck, after I had already prepaid for the truck.Kaitlyn G.
This location trucks aren't being checked or maintained at all, customer service at this location was horrible had to wait an hour to get Uhaul one employee knew how to rent to me and when I went back In To tell what was wrong with it they did nothing to help me I waited for 2 hours on the phone to talk to someone. Finally I just took it home started loading then a roadside assistance boy came and looked at the truck said they would have to take it to work on it and I said no it's already loaded. Also at pickup location it was supposed to have half tank of fuel and light was on for low fuel and also they didn't give me any paperwork on the uhaulchristopher H.

Milage was incorrect when I picked up rental. Attempted to check out vehicle through text. It would not let me complete due to milage difference. Went back inside to Exxon and the woman behind the counter said they would fix it when I got back. The milage was over 300 miles difference. There were complications on return. ordered a 10 ft. truck, had to take a 26 ft. truck. Air conditioner did not work. Wanted the truck to be picked up in Odenville, ha d to pick truck up in Springville. This is the second time that I tried to use Uhaul. The first time I cancel due to the truck not even being delivered at the location I ordered at the time I called for. This is the sorriest customer service I have ever had to deal with. I cannot recommend this company to anybody for any reason/Phillip H.

I has called them to reserve the 15' truck. She told me to reserve it through the 800 number so I did. Upon arrival she couldn't locate the reservation even with my phone in her hand with all the information. This went on for 15 minute. She called someone that works there to help her over the phone. I got my phone back and did the check in online thinking this would help her. It didn't. She asked me for all the information plus 4 different phone numbers in order to process an order even after she located my name. She said it didn't matter if you reserved online and did check in she still had to re enter everything. This took 45 minutes. I would never ever use this location again and if this is the way UHAUL does transactions I will not use Uhaul again.debra M.

The morning clerk was very nice and helpful. No issues with pick up. However, the evening clerk was very rude. I used the U-Haul app on my iPhone to return the truck. Within the app, I answered all questions regarding mileage and fuel level. Within the app, I was also instructed to take pictures of the following: mileage/fuel level, inside the truck, in the storage area of the truck and the parking spot. I also was asked to share my location as proof that I was returning the truck to the correct location at the agreed upon time. After completing all tasks required, the app instructed me to drop my key in the drop box. There is no drop box, so I took the key inside and this is where I met the very unprofessional and rude Exxon employee. I explained that I had finished everything on the app and I just needed to drop off the key. She asked to see the pictures that I took. I tried to explain to her that I took the pictures within the U-Haul app and they were not saved to my phone. She said â€œwell, I need them for our paperwork.â€ I said â€œwell, I'm sorry I don't have them. As I said they were taken within the app.â€ She the huffed and said â€œFine, I'll go look myselfâ€. And stormed out to look at the truck. When she returned, there were other customers waiting. Obviously, she didn't see me standing there because she was complaining to the other customers about â€œsome lady arguing with her over stupid pictures on her phoneâ€. I spoke up and explained that I was not arguing with her, I was explaining to her that I completed the return via the U-Haul app. I think her problem was that she didn't want to walk out to the parking lot. Very unprofessional and rude. She could have just asked nicely, and I would have done it for her. Maybe she was just having a bad day. For starters, next time can be fair with prices, was told a different rate, and was over charged. The rental rate for said truck was only supposed to be $19.99, and was charged $29.99. I want a customer service representative to contact me as soon as possible. I am on a limited income and have rented Uhaul before and have never been treated this way before. First don't call me the day before a reservation with a time three hours later than I've requested. Second, don't tell me 24 hours before truck pickup that you've moved my location to 60+ miles away and then i had to take a local rent from my city and drive 547 miles. Then i was forced to pay for mileage. Its not easy to change movers with less than 24 hours notice. If you cannot guarantee the time or the truck then stop giving the option to choose it when it's booked. This policy is awful and has negative consequences for the renter especially if they have scheduled movers for a specific time slot based on what was selected on the uhaul website. I booked that truck two weeks in advance but got no notice for a change. This experience has definitely made me rethink choosing uhaul in the future. The price may be competitive but the service has made me choose differently if I can get a truck as promised somewhere else.Kenneth D.

first ,the truck had no oil in it at all. I informed the attendant about the situation, she ask if would go out and put some oil in it . Which I did ,because I was on a time schedule. the truck had very little power and the oil light stayed on the whole time. this made my trip even more frustrating. The first truck I was given had a dead battery so they gave me the only other 26' truck they had. This truck was fine but it resulted in a fuel charge that I should not have been charged. There was a difference in the fuel level from the first truck that I was given and the second truck. The second truck had 3/4 tank of fuel which I replaced when I returned the truck. One of the taillights didnt work when you put on the brake. The charges for how much then rental was wasnt displayed so we would know the costs.
