In previous years this facility has had good vehicles, but this time, the truck reeked powerfully of marjuana, had green vegetation stains on the walls and leaf debris on the floor. The cab was full of beer bottle caps and was filthy. We returned the truck after 8 hours, but were charged for four days, sending my checking account into overdraft and costing me $35 PER overdraft - for *5* other transactions that day. Still fighting to get my money back for the original overcharge from Uhaul and nothing will get back the $150+ in lost overdraft charges. We are struggling from the financial loss and this has added a lot of stress to out move. Gaytan Famiy Market SHOULD BE ASHAMED.Seth W.

When I pick up the truck at this location I had requested a diesel as I was traveling over 600 miles. Although they had 3 diesels there she would not allow me to take one. I needed a trailer and she removed someone's reservation off so that we could use the trailer, which didnt seem fair. I PAID cash up front for the whole rental before I even left plus paid a 100 cash deposit. I quickly realized why she had pushed the truck on me. First off the brakes were stockings, the bearings and the rims were getting extremely hot to the point they were starting to turn red. The truck has a 60 gallon tank and it stated 10 miles per gallon I was only traveling 705 miles and should have only needed to get gas once to make the trip it having a half tank to start. That was a very short lived thought. I had to fill the tank 2 completely and then 3 more times at roughly 50 dollars just to make sure I was getting from point a to point b as it was consuming gas rapidly. The check engine light was on most of the drive he had no power behind it. At times it wouldnt go more then 40mph. What should have been maybe a 14 hour drive normally 12 but I gave myself and extra 2 hours because of the load turned into just shy of 20 hours. We had to stop ever hour or so just to allow the rims to cool down. Not to mention the car following had our toddler daughter and we couldnt just call and get another uhaul delivered to us in the middle of nowhere to shift stuff to a new truck. When I stopped of the truck the next day about 48 hours after pickup the location did not have a spot for me to park it. So I had to park it across 4 parking spaces. I maintained the key to insure I was going to get my cash deposit back. The lady at the drop off location wouldnt even listen to my concerns not only for me or try and fix it she didnt seem to care if the next person in line for renting it was gonna have a problem. Then after I left I took my daughter to the park across the street and even though she demanded the key to move it in the course of the next 2 hours she didnt have it moved. She was rude. I will not being doing business with either two of these location ever again. I spent more money then I should have and had nothing but problems and safety concerns and never had piece of mind. Something needs to be done to the truck and needs to do something to keep me as a customer at other locations.jeremy E.

They were more concerned with running the restaurant and I had to go in the yard to get the truck. The cab was filthy with wrappers and dried mud on the floorboard and the windshield was so dirty it took a lot of scrubbing to clean as well as the mirrors.PAUL J.

It would be great if I was able to reserve the size of the truck I need, No size available besides 10 footer or under was available, even a week and a half before reservation. Pick up location was good, overall uhaul experience was very misunderstood and poor. Will never use uhaul again. ! Nor would I recommend uhaul to anyone. They advertise things they say they can do, but actually don't. U boxes are a joke! Again this comment is not for the pick up location.Jose V.

Initially reserved 48 hour reservation, which was upheld on location's end. One day late returning truck. Incurred frivolous inflation charges on mileage charge and SafeMove. Mileage Out (49,773.0) Mileage In (49,883.6) @110.6=$98.43. Have documented proof of actual Mileage Driven (49,774.2 Out / 49,833.6 In). Furthermore, I signed original agreement of $14.00 SafeMove option, was charged $42.00. Other than the blatant, fraudulent attempt to overcharge mileage and SafeMove option, I thoroughly appreciate the satification with the overall experience and customer service I recieved from Janet at the Gaytan's Family Market.craig S.
No parking for the 20 foot truck and I was charged for a dolly when I dropped the truck off on Sunday. I was not going to leave a dolly in an unlocked truck in Clearlake. It would have been stolen. You don't need to change a thing!! Everyone is Super courteous. #1 was that they are the only U-haul in Clearlake open until 8pm on Saturdays. They had the truck I needed when I needed it. The truck was clean & handled great. To top it off they serve Great Mexican & other food too, made to order & very reasonable prices. Take it to go or eat there. Incredible selection of refrigerated drinks too. Don't plan on moving again but, we plan on returning for the food & drinks in such a family friendly environment. We're only about 1 1/2 miles away now! Thank you "Gaytan Family Market". See you again soon.Pauline B.

STOP USING CHEMICAL CLEANERS! On our last several rentals, including this one, U Haul is using a scented cleaner or fragrance in the truck that my wife describes as "cherry urinal cake". It's overwhelming, in both the cargo box and the cab. In Las Vegas, in San Jose, in Clearlake.... each time, the odor has been so overwhelming my wife has to drive another vehicle alongside, (and we have to pay double gas!) because the toxic fumes give her a migraine. While we load and breath deeply, our throats burn and our lungs scream for mercy. Then upon arrival, all our belongings SMELL! It is a gruesome smell. STOP IT PLEASE YOU ARE HURTING US.SETH W.

I called the Kelseyville office to rent from there, but they didn't have a vehicle so I had to drive to Clearlake increasing my mileage considerable. I think I should get a reduced rate for that. In addition, although the service was excellent at the facility I actually rented from, I was only given 5 hours to do the move because the truck was needed for another move. I shouldn't have to pay the full rate because I was not allowed to keep the vehicle 24 hours. Nor did they call me and tell me that I could pick it up the previous day or even that it was only available at the Clearlake location (as awesome as that was), I didn't know until I went to Kelseyville that they didn't have a truck for me.debra B.
