It was crazy busy. There was nowhere to park the truck. We handed the clerk the contract, he handed it back without looking at it.. he asked if there were any problems. Told him the engine light came on, he said that's fine, all the while talking to another customer.
Brandt MI ordered quite a head of time 2 dollys & a flat with wheels. They were not available. We drove 6 km & gas full up was $33. We were a five minute drive after we unloaded. Crazy! My son told him about the gas price but no comment from representative. I was busy so didn’t go. The guy was rushing us we we picked up truck(he was busy since it was a convenient store too which I understand but U-Haul is a business also) thank for listening.
RYAN HThe van smelled very heavily of cigarettes. It was dirty inside. The back hadn’t been swept out, and it was in dire need of an oil change.
NICHOLAS RThere is one Asian guy who’s not helpful, he doesn’t acknowledge anyone he ignores customers and is very rude and Does not want to help. When we asked him for help with the truck set ups he was very unhappy to help and kept saying just check you drive a car it’s the same. Would never recommend this guy to anyone. The women is nice she’s friendly and helpful unlike him.
BELLA JPoor handling of reservations on uhauls end, allowed for a reservation to be made on a vehicle that isn't available and further, makes alterations to the reservation so that you have to return your rental to the pick up location, even though your original reservation stated one way to another city. Also, having to return a truck within the 24 hr pick up window, that has to be driven back to the town it was picked up in because the reservation system is broken and leaves to recourse to customers after they have been given their assigned whatever U-Haul wants to give you booking, has no leeway. I brought the truck back within 45minutes of return period and was charged for a second day. I'm seething at the idea of this company not giving a single care to customers that they are actively making life harder for and still taking their money despite this. I am holding back being very upset with this absolute idiocy and the fact that your brain-dead customer service agent effectively told my partner and I to either deal with the hand we were dealt or take a hike, even though it's your bloody system that you made for us to book through that is screwing us over. I genuinely used to be partial to your company, it can be good, I've used you a number of times and it has usually been a reasonable experience for the price, this is just a kick in the teeth and I will not be pursuing the services provided from this company again. Waste of my time writing this but I am so beyond frustrated with this experience.

MATTHEW AIt was just really busy and hard to get any answers to questions - not necessarily the guy's fault - just ha a million things going on at once but kinda felt brushed off.
Jennifer SWhen I got there to check in the app would crash and I would have to start over. Then I would accidentally hit the "CHAT" icon and I again would lose all progress. I would think you should be able to go in to the chat for help and seamlessly back to where you were. Then I took 1 picture and the app crashed again. When I started it up it said I was checked in and ready to go meaning I forfeited any damages. So, I went back inside and the guy sent me a new link to start the check in over which was thru my web browser which seems to work way better then the app. Then i get in the van and it was EMPTY! Like totally, needle buried, warning bells going off, not sure I will make it to the station - empty. I asked the guy what to do as this has never happened before and he said if I return it with 1/4 a tank I would get a fuel reimbursement. I see on my receipt I got an adjustment of $5.95. Which is crazy considering fuel is $2.13/liter and I had to put in $50 to get it to quarter and returned it on a quarter. $5.95 in fuel barely got me to the station which was out of my way to out fuel in it to do the actual job. App and check in were awful and time consuming. No fuel was an extremely annoying and cost WAY more money then it should have. Will be using Home Depot Cargo Van from now on. This was a terrible, expensive experience. Because of the machine being empty

shelly mI reserved in Parksville. U-Haul changed pickup to Courtenay. When I was going to Courtenay they called and told me Langford was the only option. I went 300kms out of my way to pick up trailer. When I arrived back in Parksville I drove past the dealership only to see the EXACT trailer I had reserved there.
JEREMY PYour mobile pickup doesn’t make sense . You still have to wait until the location opens to get a key for the vehicle .
RANDALL SYour app is shit. My pick up took 35 min. I needed truck for 1 hour but you waste my time with check in and pick up.

JASBIR SThe truck itself was fine, but the service was terrible, especially from the Chinese guy. He didn’t advocate for the customers before picking up the truck. My time was delayed for 30 minutes because I had to find street parking for my car and take pictures of the truck. I hope this helps others.
FRITZEL KPlease fix your website. It took me 40 min to try and scan my license and in the end they had to do it a the desk. If your going to have people use your broken ass website to upload there license, why not have them do it through the the app at home? otherwise is just wastes everyone time. I will not be recommending U-haul to anyone because of my experience.
DUSTIN MI don't agree with being charged extra for gas. I took pictures before and after and I returned at the exact same level. I told the attendant about it and simply said I would be charged. Didn't ask to see the pictures. Also, the km was one of which wasn't a big deal. I shouldn't have accepted the contract but I was in a rush.
DANIEL SI was told I had the trailer for 6 hrs and then was charged double the price when I brought it back after 6 hours

DALE RWindshield was dirty on the inside. The fact that the gas tank wasn't filled up 100%, only was 1/4 and you know how hard it was trying to bring it back with only 1/4 tank...especially in theae extreme fuel prices...was extremely disappointing. Most other rental companies have the tank full and you bring back full. As a result we had left anextra 1/4 tank (gage was at half full upon return)...nocrefund and we were out of pocket by 1/4 tank on a 20' moving truck. The positive is the location of the pick up in relation to our house... only reason we'll have to use it one more time for final move.
JANET INot much you can do as the rating has to do with access. The location has limited parking of a busy street. The equipment was good and the service was prompt.

PHILLIP CI have been charged $70 (40mi) for distance rate. When I only drove the truck for 6mi. When I returned the truck, Cashier told me it’s $80 and change and what I see on my credit card is $142.

ANGELA BGetting the truck and drop off was awful. Made me download and app and forces the paying customer to do all the work required in picking up and drop off. The location has little cell service but expects everything done on an app that can’t be downloaded due to the service.

CINDY FThe previous customer was VERY late getting the cargo van back so I was ah hour late on my ,4 hour rental! Seems to me they should keep a vehicle in reserve for such occasions. I missed the hours for the recycling centre and donation centre due to the delay.

ELIAS WThe only…not even issue really…was the slowness of the computers for check in. There was a line of several people, 5 in front, and it took over an hour for them to complete those just because they were waiting on things to load and process. When it was my turn, it took about 15 minutes, standing and waiting for their computers to catch up. The actual check in stuff was about 5 min..! The staff were great, apologetic about the time it was taking, friendly, and helpful.
PAMELA WI waited an hour to pick up the truck because we were 6 clients picking up rental and there was only one employee. You can’t send 6 people with rental at the same time to a location where there is only one employee that is also running a very sketchy convenience store. We were late on our schedule.
MARLENE DVehicle pick up was booked for 9am and the store pick up location did not open until 9:20 so I had to wait around to see if they were even goo going to open at all. Very disappointing when you have people waiting to help move you.

DANIEL SThe cab of the truck was clean; however, the back of the truck had sugar or salt all over the floor and there was dirt and mud at the back of the truck on the shelf portion. We took pictures and cleaned up the floor of the truck.
IAN RStaff could have a better understanding of the self pick up process . Everyone I talked to did not really have much knowledge of the process. Until the morning I picked up the truck and spoke with the support line .Also Key did not function properly in driver door . Older truck , steering kind of loose on highway . Also the app did not function well for me , uploading pictures did not go well upon pick up . App could give a more clear understanding of how the self pick-up process works . “Pick up my truck button “ does not appear unless you’ve completed a certain process . Anyway , all worked out in the end . But could have been better .
