The cab was full of dirt and dog hair and the back was full of dirt - had to clean it out before I could use it. Then I tried to report that it needed cleaning and the app tried to give me a $25 cleaning fee so I had to toggle that off, but it really needs cleaning!Hannah K.

It's not marked very well. While the process wasn't the easiest and kinda all over the place it was nice not to have to talk to anyone. Drove from Minnesota to Madison to pick up an appliance and was not given the appliance dolly we needed. I had to go to a different location and rent a dolly because you couldn't have it ready when we got there qnd no one to talk to. Had to be standing in front of the building door to check in online but the truck was in front of a completely different building so we had to start the check in hundreds of feet from the actual truck or the software kept telling us we weren't at the location but I couldn't have been more at the location unless I was inside. Not having a dolly made uhaul useless to me I can't lift a move dryer by myself. Also, it took 35 minutes from beginning to end to sign into get the truck. It just kept loading information. I will not use uhaul again. The trucks tire sensor was on the whole time including when we picked it up. Have a truck without issues for the person please. 300 dollars for the amount of issues you have as a company with your software and incompetent people preparing yiur trucks is wayyyyyyy tooooo much.Adam D.

This satellite location was fine, but the process for getting the keys was quite unclear. Similarly, when dropping off the van, uploading pictures to the U-Haul website was clunky and slow.Shawn S.

When doing the self check in on my phone, between the text messages and emails I felt I had to do everything twice in terms of checking in, taking pictures as well as the check out process. I thought it was unfair that who ever was using it before me, left it on a third of a tank and I ended up getting charged for a large amount for gas.Alex F.
This place is closed until 1pm and my pick up was at 9am. I was on hold for 20 min waiting to talk to staff and was told I had a 24 hour pick up. I never got a call to confirm anything the day before or to tell me about my pick up switch up. This was a terrible experience with U-HaulEmily K.

Nobody was there when I arrived. I eventually called and I think it was the owner who told me â€œwell I normally don't work Saturdays and I thought your pick up was at 1:30 not 1:00, but I'll be there before then.â€ My reservation was definitely for 1:00 so my first experience with him was that he was rude. The owner finally arrived a little after 1:00. I go in to pick up thebkeys, he didn't check my license, he didn't give me drop off instructions, barely anything was said. I go through my move and drop off the van and of course the guy isn't there anymore. I get back to cleaning my apartment to find out oh I was supposed to take pictures and do this return process on my phone that he didn't tell me about. Would it be so difficult to say â€œHey I won't be here when you drop this off so there's a text with a link sent to you, please make sure to fill that part out or I can do it but you'll be charged $20.â€ I was moving shit literally all day and was barely on my phone, especially once I got the van I didn't have time to check my texts. I did try to go back to look and see if I could still take care of it via my phone but couldn't because everything was locked up. I can't remember the last time I interacted with a proprietor who cares so little.Carly S.

Possibly due to 4G network but the website on the mobile interface is not great. The website errored out when making the reservation, so I made a reservation at another location. Come to find out that the first reservation was made so I had to cancel the second. When I picked up the vehicle, again, errors in the mobile website made me repeat the checks in freezing windchill weather. When I dropped off the vehicle, the same thing happened with errors, so I had to repeat the process in freezing cold weather again. Vehicle was great otherwise, but website needs some work. Could be some intermittent issues but my experience with the website was pretty bad. One thing to note: not sure if this was the odometer or if I made a mistake but the website said that the odometer should read at a certain number, but it was a completely different number when I got in the vehicle. Both the attempt to input the correct number and the attempt to post a picture of the milage failed. I can provide these if asked but my solution to get away from freezing cold weather was to apply the milage difference from my trip to the number that the website was giving me. Overall, a pretty bad experience despite the physical components (vehicle, keys, location) being all good.Osama A.

Independent uHaul retailer charged me for insurance without my knowledge or consentâ€¦.would have opted out if I knew. Then when I found out he put on my billâ€¦.he avoided talking to me â€œhad to run off to handle other businessâ€. Also trailer was returned well before the time it was due backâ€¦operator charged me for the next day! Completely criminal and unacceptable on both accounts. My original request was for the Packers Ave location and I was able to get the code for the lock box and there was no key in it. Only area to improve was the presence of dog hair on the passenger seat from previous use. My wife didn't care for that and had to use a blanket to cover the seat.GREG S.

I did not reserve from this location. My reservation was moved because of the truck not being available in the original location and this was further away from where I was going. It was small and difficult to find and just looked like it was in some random small parking lot. We did contactless pickup, which ended up still taking 15 minutes to get through. I also received a call at 3pm to remind me to return the truck. This was not a short friendly reminder message, but a long, frantic message about needing the truck to be back before 4pm for the next family and having a busy weekend . My reservation clearly stated a return time of 3:30pm. There should be no reason to think I wouldn't abide the contract (unlike you guys) and I certainly shouldn't need to feel like I'm being an inconvenience for when I return the truck when it was already agreed upon to begin with. My job is to get it back by 3:30 (which I did) and I don't care or need to know what you need it for afterwards. Also, again this was supposed to be all contactless and the UHaul representative came out when I was just about done with the checkout process from the app to do it himself. This was AWFUL. My experience was great to begin with. After I dropped off, I found I was charged double for my mileage. I talked with customer service multiple times, asking to have a field manager call, only to never get a call and find my case has been closed after never hearing from the field manager. When I called customer service again. I was told NOTHING could be done after I had proof through google tracking my phone of where I went and the mileage. I was disappointed to learn this, thinking I would have a positive outcome. I have had other companies go above and beyond over less and find your response unacceptable and disheartening. If this is to be what others can expect, I recommend going elsewhere.brandon M.
Car dolly was in very poor condition. Extensive damage to one fender which appeared to be from a bearing failure. Extensive chafing on inside sidewall of tire adjacent to damaged fender. Tie down strap on same side of trailer was abraded and broken from friction. Was able to effect repair by melting holes thru three ends of strap with heated screwdriver and bolting them back together.Richard M.
Signs in truck say you need to sweep out truck. It had leaves in it when we got it. All of the blankets we rented were full of leaves & dirt too. The worst part was that the key wouldn't come out of the ignition in the middle of our rental. When I called to let them know I was told to drive to another UHaul dealer to get it fixed. It's expensive to fill it up with gas so we had to drive more miles, waste more of our precious time and ultimately pay for gas & mileage b/c of bent key. I really just wanted to bring it to the lot when we were done and leave it for the owner. Instead we paid more money and wasted more or our time. We had a 20' truck and it was parked in front of a dry cleaners that was never listed on the email instructions for pick up. A car cleaning business was mentioned and the GS Ski Tunes was tucked between two two buildings a few businesses down from where the truck was parked. It was like an Easter Egg hunt trying to find GS Ski Tunes that had the key in lock boxes by the front door. After using the code given we weren't able to open the lock to retrieve the keys. A staff person from GS Ski Tunes came out and assisted us, finally we retrieved key only to walk back to the truck at the location a few doors down to find there was a lock on the back door so we couldn't even open it up. We called U-Haul and were on hold, transferred to GS Ski Tunes in which the staff there was rude and implied we were lying that it was locked because he personally checked it the night before. He was getting loud on the phone, cutting me off and I finally had to say "I am the customer". His customer service skills were awful when under pressure/stress. I had to go back to another location, West Towne Mall Madison on Platte Dr., where I needed to take the truck to have the lock removed. I arrived and the lock was removed. It was indeed locked. The entire process that was both online and in person was 1.5 hours. This included the wait time on phones and hunt to find the location with lock boxes.Erin Q.

U-Haul needs to update their system, as his shop is only manual pickup. We were told by U-Haul that we could go at 8 am, but he did not open until 9 am. The owner of the store was very apologetic on behalf of U-Haul and kind, but it's frustrating that they aren't on the same page. Since there isn't a place for overall feedback, I will also say that we had numerous issues prior to pick up-text received at 5:30 am telling us that the truck we ordered a month prior would not be available for our 7 am pick up. We couldn't get ahold of anyone for some time and we're on hold for many lengthy periods. Numerous issues and misdirections given. We ultimately ended up with a smaller truck than anticipated and two hours later than we were supposed to, which left us rushing and having to make an extra trip since the truck wasn't big enough. Asked us to come in to clear up issue and was to on site when we arrived(20 min). We called to ask? Stated he didn't want to wait!? Waste time, gas, energy. So unsatisfied.
