johnnie h | Overall ExperienceRight rear tire was low. The representative said not to worry about it and just drive it anyway. I ordered a 2 wheel dolly and it was not available at check in. I was told to drive across town to another location to get the dolly.

RICHARD HHamilton Pleasant hill Rd.Facility was reasonably secure although once they took the fence down it seemed less so to me. Never had any issues with access or overall operation of the facility. Staff was very friendly and helpful on every occassion that I contacted them.

Gary F | Overall ExperienceI had a reservation for 7:30 am. I Arrived at the location and was told that the store wouldn’t have any staff available. Unable to get my reservation I had to call the local district manager. They found another vehicle for me and I had to get a taxi to the other u-hail location because I was dropped off at my original pickup location. I had to shift my appointments back 2 hours costing me 300 dollars. Overall a frustrating experience.

Stayc A | Overall ExperienceI requested a mobile pick up at 8am and the truck was not ready. We called and were told we had to wait over an hour for the facility to open or drive to another location. In addition, this location did not have the moving blankets I ordered. They also did not have dollies for rent which we needed because the movers we had scheduled THROUGH U-HAUL canceled at the last minute. Overall it was an awful experience. All this could have been avoided. Had the truck been available at the U-Haul location we originally requested. In addition, the check engine light came on midway through the trip.

Tara SI was redirected to this location after having an absolutely terrible experience at the Mendenhall Memphis Tn location. The Mendenhall location refused to rent the same car hauler to me, I am a repeat customer and have rented from that very same location in the past with no problem. My guess is that location is using the equipment off the books, there is absolutely no other reason to give a repeat customer with zero issues, credit card to put on file and valid DL. I called Corp number and to UHauls credit, I got a real live person right away who contacted the owner of the Memphis location. ‘Steven’ called me to explain he doesn’t rent to anyone with out a water bill, or vehicle registration and employment verification…???? For a 65 dollar renal??? And further lied to my wife and I, asked him if he worked for UHAUL corporate, he said yes, and proceeded to tell me at some point in our conversation that he had an Arkansas license…I didn’t realize UHaul moved their corporate office from Az to Arkansas. Lol, that dude is a liar, and I am taking the experience with him to the uhaul FB and other internet platforms to let people know his uhaul locations are extremely sketch. Will never, I repeat, never waste the gas to rent anything ever again in Memphis. He never once explained why he needed so much personal information to rent a simple trailer. He also did not apply the 50 dollar credit to my credit card as per Uhauls policy when uhaul doesn’t provide the agreed upon equipment, he owes me personally for wasted time off work, fuel and 50 dollar uhaul guarantee money. This location and any others he runs should be shut down asap, obviously some things going at the Memphis Mendenhall location that uhaul corporate is either ignoring or not aware of. At one point ‘Steven’, or whoever he really is, expected me to drive all the way back to the city I live in to get my car ‘light bull’??? It’s like who has a light bill anymore, it’s 21st century, everything is direct debit, seriously this dude needs to be removed from the uhaul organization asap. Still deciding if I should pursue other remedies for his not honoring the rental agreement. That all said, the Mississippi location was SO professional and knowledgeable and knew the process, in and out in 15 minutes or so, including documentation of the proper hook up to my truck, super easy drop off. From what I can tell the biggest difference is that the Mississippi location is not a uhaul franchise, just a pick up/rental point. Mendenhall location in Memphis Tn is a full franchise and apparently so mismanaged and so jaded, the have completely forgotten they are there to SERVE customers not horse equipment for what I suspect is a bunch of ‘off the books’ use. Major kudos to the Mississippi location that honored the uhaul contract, the Mendenhall location, I’ll rent from Penske or others before I ever go back to a full uhaul franchise. Fire that dude before he ruins the uhaul name in the area, I know I’m taking my experience to Reddit, FB and other social media platforms, people like ‘Steven’ have zero business in customer oriented business, at all, ever, anywhere.

Micki Bordered dolly and furniture pads that were not available when I picked up the van. Found a dolly at another UHaul 20 miles away that had to be returned to that location the next day. If you cannot supply the extras, don't list them!!!

Lisa HMy original reservation was the u- haul in Collierville TN. From what I understand the manager assigned it to another customer causing me to pick up a truck in Southaven. The folks at Southaven were very professional and polite . They took care of everything we needed. Both times we rented we had to drive 15 to 25 miles to pick up or return a truck when there were closer U Hauls. A suggestion would be have the u-Haul employees move the trucks to the laces needed if in same town.
Richard EHad to answer yes to everything. I tried renting a storage and was told after the paperwork was complete and payment made that they couldn’t find the key to my storage unit and it would be the next day before they could but I told him I needed for that night. Why go thru all the steps when you knew you didn’t have a key in the first place. So I canceled storage and got refund all in the same day. Please know what you have and the condition before wasting customer time.

REED Y | Overall ExperienceWe did mobile pickup and no one left the dolly AND the right key to the truck. Obviously we had to leave it there. Then we get a call the next day asking where the key was bc someone else was there and had a reservation for the SAME truck we were suppose to have with us until 5:30 pm. After calling the scheduling number and being talked to like I didn't know what I was talking about the Rep figured it out and we were able to pick up the same truck. Thankfully it worked out but I will definitely be trying another company next time.

susan wI was sent to the wrong address, then when I went to the next address no one was there. I was suppose to use the online portal but I could not get the code for my keys. I was never sent a pickup email. I waited on hold for help for 30 minutes. My entire friend group woke up early to help me and it was for nothing. Terrible experience

Renee BBe sure all functions of the truck are operable, or least know what’s wrong and inform the customer. Deliver items customer has paid for, instead of customer getting to their destination and finding the items not there. Don’t bother the customer during their rental wanting to know when the vehicle will be returned, telling customer they(Hamilton Storage), is losing money because the customer has the vehicle. Inform customers of “ALL” aspects of what is going to happen with their credit card once you hand it over. Like money holds that aren’t supposed to be debited from your account, but do. Effectively doubling your rental cost. And when you ask about the over charge, you’re told if it’s not returned in two days, deal with corporate. It’s been 6 days and I still haven’t received my money back. I won’t deal with Uhaul again because of the treatment and the ripoff!!
Richard WStaff at this location was helpful and professional. The truck was clean but in poor mechanical condition, to the point of being unsafe. After I picked it up and started driving, I noticed the steering was so loose and worn out, the truck was hard to keep centered on the road. After we had it loaded up, we noticed on of the rear tires was flat. It’s was a dual wheel truck and the inner tire wouldn’t hold air. I had to air it up twice on a 2.5 hour drive. The outside tire on the same side had a chunk ripped out on the sidewall as well. The truck also had a check engine light on and the seat was torn.

Kenneth wThe truck check engine warning light was on, windshield wipers screeched, and barely removed rain from the windshield. The loading ramp was covered in deep mud. We had to hose the ramp down before we could use it. The truck stank from cigarette smoke. It stunk so bad I could barely stand it.. The steering wheel was dirty and sticky. No USB outlet to charge a phone or use navigation. Wardrobe boxes bought were of poor quality and overpriced. Not up to UHAUL quality and strenth.

Rick GStorage unit was super nice at one time. Now, there is much repair needed-crushed or collapsed unit doors, deep holes at concrete edge that would swallow a car tire! Needs a big clean up and repair day. Otherwise, it’s a nice place to rent from. Staff are awesome!
