We ordered a truck and transport for same day pick up. Somehow we had to pick up transport at a different dealer and 3days before we got the truck. Got that part straightened out before we arrived with the gouhaul number. But the truck was absolutely disgusting. Soda spilled everywhere from dash board to seats to floor. This was the most horrific experience I ever had trying to rent a vehicle. The "On Line" rental system refused to accept my sign-in, no one was available at the location, the 800 number had me wait, then once answered, told me they had to transfer me to another number where I could speak to a LIVE person immediately. However, the LIVE person was another HOLD for a representative, during which I call yet another number who was also unable to assist. FINALLY I did get a 'Call Back' during which they then had to walk me through you inefficient On-Line system, all of which made me 1 1/2 hours LATE for people waiting to move a household. My original rental was requested in one town, but your scheduler sent me to another town 13 miles further away from both my home and the work site. It was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! AN EXPERIENCE WHICH WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!!!!Thomas B.

Just an easy process. I was almost nervous thinking I was gonna be charged an extra $20 for not completing the return process thru a link on my phone. I am happy that they were able to see that I returned the equipment back on time and on full gas tank. But thank God, I was not charged this.Khadidra W.

The truck AC was not working properly. It was working on my picking up the truck. On the highway the AC was on and off randomly. The wheels was in poor alignment. The steering wheel has to stay in two o'clock position to keep the truck move forward. The gas mileage was very poor, average 8 MPG from Iowa to Oregon with only half loaded in the truckYingfang W.

I HAD A QUESTIO AND HARRIS BOYZ GAVE ME CRAIGS NUMBER FROM UHAUL.. SO I GAVE HIM A CALL... THAT MADE ALL OF THE DIFFERENCE. (U HAUL)CRAIG ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS,HELPED WITH SOLUTIONS. WAS VERY HELPFUL,EFFICIENT,KNOWLEDGABLE,PROMPT,ALL WHILE KEEPING HIS PATIENCE AND POLITE.WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND ANYTHING I WAS EXPECTING. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH HIS WORK PERFORMANCE AS WELL AS ANY OBSTACLE WE CAME TO HE WAS THERE TO WALK ME THROUGH IT AND OFFER REASONABLE SOLUTIONS. AND MADE THEM PLAY OUT JUST AS HE STATED. I was quoted the total fee would be around $40 for renting a cargo van for 4 hours and driving 30 miles. I returned the cargo van on time, and drove only 11 miles, and the total fee was somehow $100. I'm not sure what the additional $60 went towards, but I would recommend a different location to make sure they're more truthful about the actual cost.BLAKE W.

Overall it was a positive experience. The truck was in good order and staff at the pick up location were very helpful. I wanted to share two suggestions for possible improvement. First, I originally chose online pickup but when I attempted to do this it did not work. The process seemed to become stuck on getting a driver's license photo. I uploaded a photo four times and each time it said the photo could not be read, even though it looked clear to me. Could there be a way for your staff to provide a specific comment about what exactly was wrong with the photo? Anyway, I won't rely on using the online pickup process again and wouldn't recommend it. Was very glad that the on site staff were still there to help us check out or else we would have been in a real pickle. Second, while returning the truck it said that we had driven it 1000 miles and therefore owed something like $950. I disputed the charge and the website said UHaul would be calling me to discuss. No one ever called me. Could your website be developed in a way where it would detect that it is not possible for us to drive 1000 miles in a 12 hour period? Everything worked out fine with this but it was just very anxiety provoking to see I would be getting a $950 charge. Would have appreciated getting a phone call or email apology about this from UHaul. That's all. Thanks for your products! I'm glad they exist.EDWARD B.

I made the reservation over a month ago to pick up a trailer in St Paul/Minneapolis and drop it in IOwa City. When uhaul texted me last week that I could pick up in Brainerd, MN I was not pleased. That is four hours out of the way from where I had requested. After a lengthy call to UHaul I was able to find a location more convenient to me though, so I was thankful for that. Just would have liked to not have had the hassle last minute. Otherwise my experience was good.Mary C.

They put the wrong truck number on the Contract. Had to call on my own to get it fixed. Wasn't great experience and they seemed nonchalant about getting the truck. I'm not sure the person/young man that showed us which truck to take was even on the payroll. Seemed very young and had trouble opening the back door.Mark M.

Our reservation was canceled the morning of our pick up day even though I had made it six months in advance. Our Uhaul car tow dolly's wheel broke on my way home from the Uhaul location and didn't even make it home 15 minutes away. Roadside assistance was impossible to get ahold of and took hours. The U-Haul truck also had a repair traction control service light on a day into our drive to Oregon. With the delays of our canceled reservation and broken car dolly we were late getting out of our rental property and late getting to our new rental property in Oregon. We also had to get an extra hotel room for the night because of the delay.ROBERT Y.
