The truck was disgustingly dirty on the inside. Food and trash in the floor. The location has bad cell phone coverage for AT&T so the app worked horribly. When I spoke with a Uhaul rep on the phone, he was rude and not helpful.

I requested one way and the store marked my rental as in town. I had friends pick up the trailer so I could continue to pack the truck and they didn't know that the store marked the rental as in town. When I returned it along with the truck in Michigan, the receiving location wasn't able to check the trailer in. Yep had to make calls to uhaul for 2 days to get the matter resolved and the trailer checked in and fees waived. This was very stressful on top of the move across county and it was unnecessary.

Hours of operation are way off from online to physical store location. Slowed me down quite a bit not knowing ahead of time by over an hour. Having to download the app and the whole online process took me a lot longer than I would of liked.

I was first directed by U-Haul to a location on Rozzelles Ferry Rd (Rozzelles Ferry Mini Mart), Charlotte which said they didn't do U-Haul any more, but they had a 5x8 in the parking lot that they said that I could rent, but I found it was full of furniture already, so I left this location looking for another trailer. This was disappointing since I had pre-registered for a trailer a week and a half in advance. In my personal search (since I could not get through to a U-Haul agent on the phone), Suzanne at Mountain Island Storage and the folks at Home to Home Furnishings were very helpful in finding me another trailer. Unfortunately, I had to rent a larger trailer (6 x 12) than I needed, but it was the only one readily available - so I rented it. I did not appreciate the wild goose chase U-Haul sent me on in trying to pick up my prearranged rental.

Site was late opening and they were unprepared for rental. Didn't know what trucks they had or what we'd scheduled. Not all supplies were in the truck and we had to go back to get them -- keeping by-the-hour movers waiting and running up costs. Said he'd waive fees for those, but those needed approval by a district manager at the drop-off location. They didn't approve the waiver.

The guy did not put the trailer on my hitch properly and within 10 minutes the trailer came off my vehicle while it was on the highway!!!! I almost crashed, could have killed myself or others on the road! Caused damage to the rear bumper of truck on both sides. I called the guy to tell him he almost killed me and he said “You saw me tighten it up “ ... there was no are you ok, is your vehicle ok or is there any damage!!! I waited over an hour to get the trailer “fixed” and was late for my pick up so I was forced to stay an extra day in Charlotte. When I went to drop it off at the my chosen destination I inquired about customer service regarding damage and was told I had to go to a corporate office 20 minutes down the road to talk to a general manager. When I got there I was told I had to file online and he could not do anything for me ... not once did he ask if my vehicle was ok or attempt to apologize.... worst customer service I have EVER SEEN!!! Then he told me I had to drive the trailer back to the place I was just at because he couldn't return trailer there !!!! Worst experience ever with any rental company I have ever dealt with ... rented 5 times from UHAUL this year alone... doubt there will be a sixth !!!!!!

While the 'problem' I experienced was NOT due to anything that this Franchisee: House to Home Furnishings did, I do not feel that it was 'my fault' that a rear tire 'Blew Out' --- The Franchisee Owner: Tavares contacted U-Haul & I was charged an additional $300+ for this incident.
