Pick-up truck needed cleaning, inside and out. App for returning truck, failed to work as needed. Was not able to upload photos that were required to go to next step. Very frustrating experience. Customer service is of absolutely no HELP!Michael B.
The pick-up procedure was very confusing. I was not aware that the â€œalternate contactsâ€ would be contacted right away, as that was not specified. Both of these individuals were unable to answer the calls from UHaul, so I ended up waiting over 20 minutes just waiting. When I questioned things on the chat, the agent did not explain what was going on.Christine T.

The location was fine, truck was fine. The issue was, and likely for others, is the online checkin system. I wasted nearly 90 minutes attempting to get the truck. Multiple calls to customer service were marginally helpful. The entire process should be completed PRIOR to arriving at the location- similar to a car rental. I have left enterprise in under 10 mins, rental to driving away, all from my phone. Whomever set up the ride share rental process in this way, should be fired.mike C.

The truck was the filthiest truck I have ever been in, in covid this is unhealthy and dangerous. We drove it home and I had to wash it out completely in the inside and the back bed looked like it had never been clean, there was hay, leaves, debri and mud inside and outside of the truck. It had a huge dent in the passenger door. It took forever to get the code for the truck because no one told us we had to be where the truck was parked. I recently had knee surgery and it was hard to stand at length to sign up again, after I had filled all the info out the night before, it was awful service. We rent from you frequently and this was the worse rental pick up we have ever had, the truck was downright gross, no one should have rented that pig of a truck ever, whoever had it last just dropped it off, dirty. It took forty five minutes to clean it before we could even drive it. I used interior car cleaner and a bucket of water, the water was black when I finished and the rag that I usually wash and use again I threw in the garbage, it took four time of washing my hands to get the smell off of them. The app did not work and the counter help at the Firestone Tire store told us they shut the u-hale computer systems down and couldn't help us. We went to another location on Kingston and the gentleman at the dealership was kind enough to put us in contact with the area manager who was extremely helpful in getting us on our way. Same thing occurred when we returned with the difficulty in the online process. Again we contacted Mike the area supervisor and he assured us all would be fine and the location will check it in on Monday. The truck was great and we had no other issues. Thank you for have such outstanding customer service from your managers, otherwise we would have not been able to move on that day.Kristen S.
As someone with a compromised immune system and a father with cancer I had expected the truck to at least be semi clean as we are dealing with the coronavirus, what I found instead was dirty,sticky and unclean.i sanitized the best I could so that I could be safe and the next person could feel secure. Truck and windshield was full of bird crap. Vents let no air in. Back door had no cables to spring it up. One was missing one was broken. Door flew down and almost cut me in half. I made the manager open it and he could barely do it. I took pictures of the damaged cables. I expect money taken off of the bill.dennis B.

Location is visible, convenient & has ample parking. Rental agent was very courteous & helpful, & gladly noted partially filled fuel tank. There are arrangements for pickup and key drop-off after hours, which could be very useful. Pickup truck was fairly new and drove quite well.jack A.

First if all let me start by saying, that yes the truck was clean but not well maintained. The steering felt as if had been in a prior accident or something and not repaired correctly. I had all i could do to.keep it on the road. I am a professuinal truck driver so i am very well aware of how the truck was supposed to handle. We also kept hearing a banging or cracking sound that came from the front end that really scared my wife.Robert M.

Working with the location was just fine. Working with U-Haul was awful. Suddenly everything is on my cell phone? That means I MUST have a working one but I didn't know that until I got to my car and suddenly I have pictures on my phone to verify. The pictures sent to verify the condition of the truck were not of the truck I was renting. The questions are geared to answers you seem to want. When I returned the truck I was asked to download a tracking device TO MY PHONE. Absolutely not. When I called the U-Haul rep I was told I would be charged for not downloading the tracking device. This is outrageous. They waived the fee but it took 20 minutes of confusion to get that done. I will not download tracking from UHaul. And where is the privacy for my personal information? Now it's in a cloud you ask the customer or the rental agent to put through. Not prudent. Where are the many copies of my license that were put into a file at other UHauls each and every time I rented? I don't feel secure about any of this. You may have lost a customer.Eleanore S.

There was no place to park and when I went into the gas station I was told just park in front of the other trucks in the middle. Not helpful or nice. This was the second location to drop off. After 35 minutes at the first location on the phone explaining that the drop box was broken and the door was open allowing someone to take the key. After a long time on the phone waiting with frustration I was directed to another site across town, This was great as I'm paying per mile. The place on Jersey Ave Port Jervis was looked run down. U-Haul sent me on a wild goose chase which wound up costing me my whole day driving around for nothing I wound up having to drive all the way back home and renting locally Towing both ways! The tow dolly should have been taken out of service. It was never maintained or properly inspected. I had to personally replace the ratchet on one side(costing me $12 out of my pocket) the other ratchet had to be wired together to keep it from falling apart,the light didn't all work. I was not impressed at all but seeing that was the only one available I had to make the repair myself.Gerald P.
When we arrived to pick up our truck, it was discovered that the back rolling door was broken and would not actually close. We were running on a tight schedule and there were no other trucks at our pickup location in the same size. Therefore we had to exchange the truck at a location 30 miles away, which took time out of our schedule.Lisa K.

While the trailer was fine, the problem I had was that it had a four pin connector and my truck had the newer 7 pin configuration. This shop did not have any adapters to sell and luckily an auto parts store in the next town had one. The normal U-Haul shops would have had it on site. This could be a big problem for other renters.ANDY L.

We ORDERED our truck in Matamoras, PA and were quoted $308 plus taxes, etc. We gave our credit card number, etc. We were told to pick up the truck in New York - about 2 miles away. When the bill was given it was about $970 total! We have no idea why! THAT was a total rip-off! We've been ordering trucks from Fort Knox about 3 times in the past year and have NEVER been charged that.Bernard B.
